    don't do it theres not enough money in it for the amount work done. self employed especially on the domestic market don't do it at least not very often very few people are willing to pay a decent price builders as a sub new build sites you need to spray you will find it very difficult making it pay other wise for again the amount of work you need to get through. Do something else if you can the construction industry is one the most stressful and worst paid industries in the world if you can do something else do it.

    • @Gh3tt0Gam3r
      @Gh3tt0Gam3r Před 2 lety

      I would say the stress is relative to your capabilities and project timing. The work will sometimes be slow while pending approval on current workload, but extremely fast paced at other times with everything having to be treated as a priority. With a strong, core understanding of time Management and the disciplines required to assess what a finished project is to look like, then you’ll find a career with a lot of opportunities for genuine pride in your own work and innovation.

    The miss conception that health and saftey are hear to help not hinder ????????????????????????? "Most" health and saftey managers are the biggest nauses the sites have ever seen, they are given far too much responsibility and control, half of them couldn't run a bath if they tried. They spend to much time being glasses and gloves nazi's 1. If you have your glasses off its because you either can't see what your doing or the glasses are straining your eyes. 2. if your an electrician or anyone who uses tape how are you meant to peel tape of with these high grade gloves or/and gloves that aren't the right size ?? If they say you can use fingerless ones then what the fuck are we protecting, the palms and back of are hands ? Fingers mean fuck all ? 3. They bang on about how we're in charge of our health and saftey (to cover their arses basically) so let me make the choice of when to wear my gloves and glasses and when its nessercary Another point ,they spend all this time setting up a litteral maze of sticky out legged barriers which are a hazard withing themselves in some vain attempt to say he look at my organisation skills, literally barriers everywhere . They don't follow their programs of works and have people working on top of each other all all time. Also now in the industry all the trades have to tidy up all their own mess (which seems fair enough) but you still have the same allotted time to do your job causing more stress " bad for mental health" What happened to labourers and cleaners? I could go on , can't stand them

      There will always be dust. Indoors you can control it a lot more. Get it cleaned up regularly. Damp the ground with water, ventilation, talk to the trades and ask them about how much dust they will produce and come up with solutions. Can they cut the wood in another area away from the worksite? Is there equipment that can reduce dust?

      How can you say something so presumptuous? Do you know her? I had more life experience at 19 then many. I suffered from ptsd, hyper vigilance and anxiety and depression... these "gifts" came from repeated trauma and numerous losses.... No this isn't a sob story. Everyone will be dealt these cards at some point in their lives, and they either shape us or break us. I just happened to get my share a lot earlier and while I did struggle hard, these "life experiences" have made me not only a fantastic mother who has a keen sense of foresight in regards to risk and injury avoidance but also a perfect candidate for this profession. It's the reason I have pursued this as a career. Maybe she is a dizzy, clueless female... or maybe not. In my opinion, everyone has to start somewhere. Just the fact that she avoided the fruitless $ burden that university has proven to be for so many to me shows massive intelligence and keen observance. I think if you are speaking on behalf of an industry it is you who is doing the disservice.

    • @goodplacereviewer2495
      @goodplacereviewer2495 Před 2 lety

      In all fairness jessica , he has a point , its not the fact she's a female , and she may have had a stressful job before and coped etc etc . It's the fact that you should have been in a trade yourself for at least 10 years before you can apply or work towards this job to truly understand the best approach and action to take. You need to know what the health and saftey nuisances are like for trades . I can explain if needed. Half these health and saftey managers the way they have these sites running are the reason why do many men get the types of mental illnesses you are talking about. Most sites are like controlled chaos , because they spend more time banging on about glasses and gloves Because for them coming out of the office walking round for 15 mins a day to walk round the site is easy. Try un sticking some tape or using a short m4 screw day in day out with thick gauge gloves on .. or gloves at all for that matter. Try wearing saftey glasses ALL day religiously and getting to feel the eye strain and headaches personally. Try having to walk round some maze of barriers EVERYEHERE , which have sticky out legs which is a hazard within its self. But to be honest with you if you've had all them mental health issues ....................... You'd be perfect for the job ( not being sarcastic) Because you'd see things from people point of view , be very empathising , extra helpful and understanding, OBSERVENT, learn from mistakes and take criticism to heart which in turn will make you better at your job. The trouble is with these health and saftey managers are that they think because they've done qualifications in health and saftey they know best. Too be a good health and saftey manager you need to get to know the people who are working on site understand their trades and how implementing some health and saftey will affect them mentally and physically. I.e something that would be considered a major health and saftey issue.... Not getting a lift or hoist up and running and the very start of even a 5 floored job is ridiculous. We're trades not athletes . Wish you all success but when you get there don't get sucked into all the extra bullshit they'll teach you and don't let the power go to your head you and don't turn into , see you en tee. Think for yourself and work with other people not against
