hi just wondering is it bad to drive it like this before cleaning the pickup and sump if it is bad how long can you be driving it for before it is bad for the engine
Clown shoes is why that tuner needs. This can all be fixed in the tune.
G'day from Bundy Qld 😁 Many HR cars get the rusty floors & need cutting out ! Lucky you know how to fabricate & burn in new pan/floor digger 👍😝 its very handy to know hey ! Love ya videos & ive learnt a trick or 3 👍 Cheers .
HR great old car 👍 i had one when i first got my licence way back in 1982 , wish i still had it as work project & do it up with all the good suspension we now have in 2024 , Great memories driving the HR 👍😁 Cheers from Bundaberg Qld 🍹🕺
Good video mate 👍 very helpful, im about to start front & rear end suspension on my 2004 VY Calais & every helping hints & tricks i can learn by watching many mechanical car video's on the VY the better it is for me & the wallet 🤑🤑 knowledge is NOT a burden so thanks to guys like yourself for doing repair/ replacement / fixing cars is much appreciated 👍 steve from Bundaberg Qld 🍹🕺
Hey mate, have you done a video on removing the sump on this car?
Yeah mate. It's somewhere in my videos. Probably about 5 years ago.
I think it's titled "oil pressure warning light"
Owner says he's to broke to change oil, suggest a bicycle as a viable replacement.
I have changed mine but abs/trac light still on..pls help
@@rozman9756 Have you scanned it?
"you may get aaaaaaa.........erererer....."
Love the part where you showed us how it’s done. Very good 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Do I have to set the motor at top dead center to change lifters?
@@Kelleyautorepair No mate.
Holy!!!..@#$%🤯 Thanks for doing this video mate👍 I was doing some digging before considering quoting a heater core replacement on a 2007, looks pretty much identical to this. Think I better quote at least a few days labour plus A/C de-gas + regas, plus the new core, and consumables etc of course. Let's see how much my customer really wants heat🤣🇦🇺
Yep it's a pretty big job and hard to quote if you don't know what's instore...Good luck with it mate...Cheers.
I just changed my oil on my truck. I change it every 2,000 miles. I also change my filter every time. I do it myself to save money so it allows me to use full synthetic oil.
Right on
Legend has it the engine has survived and is back for it's 5 yearly oil change.
My first Holden FC (1970 second hand ) was a breeze. 2 Bolts, Gasket cut from Corn Flakes packet and a tube of Gasket Goo. The Thermostat Part came on a box about the size of a cigarette pack and you could pre-test it in a cup of boiling water before installation. 10 minute job with half a stubby in hand. !!
@MelodyMan69 Times have changed my friend. Cheers mate 👍
@@ziggassedup Yeh. The 'Stubby' remains true.
do you know where i can get a lockout for the cams?
Sorry no.
Looking good mate.
Thank you! Cheers!
Hello. Interesting video. I have a Vectra C with a Z18XE engine. When replacing the timing belt, I used a plastic timing gear lock. In Poland, it cost about 12 euros. It makes the job easier because the wheels are immobilized. Best regards.
Thanks for sharing
How can you not have money for 4 years for a $25 oil change? C'mon man.
this is one of the holes of the village whore.
This video saved me, thank you.
You're welcome!
i had watched a video he tried dish washer tablet, who test this method
What do you think?
I know this is an old video but it was of great use to me this weekend when i had to replace mine. You most certainly saved me some time and gave me more confidence to carry out the job. Thankyou
You're welcome.
9:20 you're welcome
The timing belt on these actually seems pretty easy compared to most. Once that air box is out of the way there is a lot of room. I wish all engines had that much room to work. Oh, and the zip tie trick is great. I probably would have just shoved something in between the gears if I hadn't seen that.
Cheers mate.
Dang was really hoping youd mention the torque specs on the Valve cover 🥲😂
Sorry.
Only Japanese can survive this mistreatment.
Always glad to see a grey motor! ❤
Me too!
It sounds like a bag of spanners. Jesus christ.

thankyou for this video very helpful gave me alot of help with my baby stay Blessed my Brother !
You are very welcome

This is why bonding a lubricant to the inside of your engine is a good idea. That way there is always lubrication even if the owner forgets to change the oil. The oil also lasts longer as less wear occurs. 🙂
G’day mate. Can I ask, how much would a mechanic charge for this job? I think I need mine done. Also, are you in Queensland? I might just bring it to you.
8-900 if it's done like this...Sorry mate I'm in Sydney...Cheers.
Love ya work mate.
Thank you! Cheers!
I hope the oil filter has a bypass, not that it would matter much.
Utterly stupid place for the thermostat!
Yep.
I see the rubber gasket sticking out when u tighten the outlet metal hose ..
Hi, i have a problem that flashing air bag and horn toots when I press cruise control on, obd fault codes B1049 .my car nissan nv 200 model 2012, thank you
Sounds like a clockspring problem...Cheers.
@@ziggassedup thank you very much then i should replace new one
U want to sale
Sorry No.
Hey champ, i was wondering if u do mobile mechanic? in sydney area i saw ur video, i got an 1990 toyota corolla needing a fuel pump intank.
No sorry mate.
@@ziggassedup erm question, what can fuel pump would u recommend for the ae92 liftbacks 4afc engines?
He’s probably better not even changing it at this point changing the oil will probably blow the motor
I have an fg xr6 that feels like it has sticky brakes. When the cars in the air and you press the brakes, all 4 wheels are unable to be rotated for a good 2 seconds after the brake pedal has been let off. Would making this adjustment to the rod fix this?
I think the issue is either the hoses or calipers.
Don't drop any cigar ash on the seat...........You never know.
I hear you knocking......
nice
Thanks Scotty.
Why didn't you actually show how you put the chain and gears on. I need to know how to get the chain past the tensioner without taking the cam covers off and listening the tensioner bolts up. That's the only way I can see being able to get the chain past the tensioner even with it fully compressed mine has no room to pass over the lip on the tensioner foot.
That is not possible.
you have come a long way and soon on the road my 66 hr prem is on the road after 2 year resto happy to see yours come back to life
Cheers mate.
If you're doing commentry you need to cut out background noise so people can hear what you're saying! Why play music?
Good point mate.
Looks great!
Thanks Matty.
