Polish Economy Soon To Overtake The U.K.?
Last week I visited #lodz in #poland , a city with a population of over 600,000. A former centre for the textile industry, it is now a mixed economy. #łódź is a beautiful city with many outstanding buildings and landmarks. The main street #piotrkowska is full of many bars and restaurants. The city is very green with many trees and small parks. #manufaktura is a huge new development of shops, restaurants and cafes.
The economy of Poland seems to be proceeding very well and I found almost everyone to be positive and patriotic. The people met were all extremely friendly and helpful.

Hapless Rain Soaked Sunak Announces Doomed General Election

Rishi Sunak surprised everyone by calling a General Election for July 4th instead of in the autumn as expected. This has caused anger amongst many Tory MPs. Easy answer no. No and I mean never. The amount of money that passes through London Poland has never seen in its 1000 year history. Poland is not poor but don’t fool yourself just because it’s growing and its streets are clean doesn’t even put it in the same category of wealth and financial power of the UK. Not in our lifetimes or the next.

I spent a year in Poland in the mid 1990s and it’s very interesting to note the changes that have occurred over time. Thirty years ago I noticed that the eastern part of the country, cities were less well developed than places like Warsaw and Krakow. I like the Poles very much, and I enjoyed the vox pops. Thanks

Poland has its problems too: last year the River Odra was polluted and virtually all the fish died, and Warsaw is not a cheap city to buy real estate, but maybe there is the sense here that problems are steadily being tackled. British people are losing their faith in the country's future.

Odbierane emerytury Np. Ukraińcy mają takie same warunki socjalne, a nawet lepsze od nas. Polacy stali się mieszkańcami drugiej kategorii. Straciliśmy suwerenność i niezależność Wciągają nas w nie naszą wojnę ! . Rozbrajają nas na potęgę. ! Mafia brukselska - to trzeba zniszczyć

How the hell is polsih economy be able to surpass uk soon? Uk gdp is more than 3 trillion dollars whereas polish is 700 nillion dollars. Polish economy growth is circa 1-3% a year and uk has sometimes decrease of 1% but usually it is 0% or 1% growths. By sheer stats poland won't surpass uk in hundred years. It is even way worse when we check GDP per Capita

Poland's economy is exclusively Polish for only 30 years, we have a deeply rooted mindset that we have to constantly improve our country - for 30 years we were racing to catch up to the West but now that we've already did exactly that... we're not slowing down at all! We're making it better for ourselves day by day; It's nice to step back for a minute and not feel shame for feeling proud of our country - as well as the nation.

I’ve seen it change over the years and though I miss the ‘old’ Poland I’m happy to see it change for the good. I’ve got lots of friends there and some I consider family and enjoy every minute when I’m visiting them. Been to many cities like Gdańsk, Katowice, Wroclaw, Poznan, Jelenia Gora. My favorite city is Krakow though. My friends live mostly in the countryside near Poznan. Greetings from 🇳🇱

Well yeah, it's always like this when we walk trough the facade-street of the city. Piotrkowska is such a place. You could bank and walk 20 meters and see the pictures similar to ruined WW2 buildings less than 5 years ago. Thing that really show that PL is getting richer is that percentage of people living in absolute poverty is declining. Many of those dangerous slum-like streets became or undergo renovations. It can be beautiful, but most important is that the quality of life got better. Crime rate is lower in places, where people can experience beauty too. I am happy Łódź is becoming better place.

Brexit stupidity, so easily swayed International billionaires, disaster capitalists and their political lackeys. Still makes me very angry. Being a former freight forwarder I can remember having to arrange clearance for EU goods up to the mid 90s. Then it stopped and thousands of customs brokers lost their jobs. The equivalent of a steelworks, but all spread out. Fair enough. Experienced trying to arrange clearance after Brexit, seems ten times as hard. Broke me in the end, I am ashamed to say. The biggest act of self harm in this country's history. Now the client populists are after our human rights and even the Supreme Court as well as membership of the ECHR. People are so easily led.

There is no "multicultural enrichment" visible yet. We value this very highly. May it remain this way forever. EU = Union of European Socialist Republics, which stubbornly pursues a utopian agenda according to the recommendations of Alfieri Spinelli's manifesto. A total utopia that needs to be left, the sooner the better. Europe under the management of Brussels (Berlin) is not developing at all, it remains increasingly far behind the USA and Asia. This is the German Fourth Reich under construction. That's the truth.
