Lightroom Editing Tutorial with Unexplained Noises
[Fast-forward to 8:40 to hear the noises]
Back story: I recently purchased an 1800's era Victorian sofa after looking around for one for months. I brought it home on Wednesday evening, used it in a photoshoot on Saturday evening, and sat down to film this editing tutorial on Sunday morning. The sofa is pictured in the background of the photo in this video.
Anyways, so I was home alone(well, my 15 week old son was asleep in his swing during this) filming this video. All TV's and potential background noises were turned off for the voiceover aspect of this as I didn't want random sounds taking away from the video. I have two Goldendoodles that were asleep on my steps leading up to my second floor. The sofa was about 10 feet away from where I was sitting and filming at my dining room table when this went down. Basically, I'm wrapping up the video and this god awful howling sound starts. I looked to my dogs- wasn't them. Baby is still asleep. Howling noise stops. Then this agonizing groaning. Both sounded like they were coming from someone directly in front of me but no one was there. Anyways, after the groaning part(seriously so unsettling; I had goosebumps and the hair on neck was standing on end)I shut the lid of the MacBook and grabbed my baby out of his swing and tried to get my dogs to come down the steps but they were hesitant(very unusual for them. So yeah, that was enough for me so I then left my house for the next three hours until around the time my husband got home. It was definitely inside my home, not a sound from outside. I also want to mention when I record into the mic of the Mac I have to lean over the keyboard to make sure my voice is picked up clearly on the recording. The fact that you can hear those sounds so well tells you how loud it was. I honestly can't adequately communicate how terrifying this experience was nor can I provide an explanation. I was nervous that this was in my head as my dogs hadn't spooked when the noises were happening and my baby hadn't stirred. I'm relieved it recorded and that I didn't imagine this whole thing. We have lived in this home for over a year without incident(well, maybe one small thing a few months ago but we aren't sure). I'm obviously freaked out about this couch and believe it may be bad juju.

US Navy Boot Shining Trick
zhlédnutí 1,5MPřed 10 lety
*Update January 2020: I’m no longer active duty but am leaving this up for all of my A school folks looking for a quick shine. I can’t stress how important having a layer of polish on the boot prior to doing this in order to protect your leather is. If it gets wet it will look like trash & you’ll need to strip the boot and re-do it. This is great for inspections, not great for shipboard use. Al...

Regarding the shoe polishing video...If you are in army, you are expected to pokish your shoes...Not so that they are shiny. Sure you can do that with hairspray in 5 minutes. But in the army, you should be polishing them for 2 hours. That will teatch you valuable lessons like, hard work, reward, discipline, confidente, results, obey orders and many other. If you cheat on that, you miss the whole point of beeing in the military.

It literally says “Navy” in the title. That’s an entirely different branch than the Army. The description on that video further elaborates on the Navy instruction regarding boot shining which doesn’t specify what method you have to use. Did the Army teach you these reading comprehension skills? If so I’m both unimpressed and unsurprised.

OMG you might had a contact with some paranormal shit. I hope you are well know. It might be quite upsetting. Does it continues?

Hi - I watched your boot video and wanted to make a comment. Have you ever tried Master Quick Shine? It works just like the hair spray but is made for shoes and is water proof! I use it on my leather golf shoes and it is great. Like the hair spray you need to avoid the creased part of the shoe. Try it!!

Never use hairspray on your boots as in the rain they will go blue Trust me my friend did it it was funny but she was so embarrassed when she was in the rain on the parade and her boots went blue. I’m not having a go I’m just giving u a tip to help.

What boots do you own from the other video? Are they government issue or did you buy them?

Just saw your shoe shining video- I was wondering how long the hairspray shine lasts for. And also if it can be repeated after getting scuffed up; and still look good

Just a shout out for your boot video, sorry you had to shut down comments because of wankers but I had to laugh at the use of Aussie Hairspray and Kiwi Boot Polish (I am a New Zealander or "Kiwi") to get the perfect shine

If people followed the simple rule of not posting anything that they would not say if the person was sitting next to them, youtube would be a much better site. A little bit cheeky, maybe, but some of the comments I see are repetitive and vile.

Lol yea that boot shine video made me cringe. Fake shines are always obvious and I never respected anyone who cut corners like that when I was in the military. Once u get the technique down and get a good shine on the boot, its literally an hour or so a month of maintenance.

Dylan Lanas It went back to its original owner the day after I posted this video. As far as I know nothing else has happened. But he'd had it in his home for two years without incident. Fast forward to me getting it and all this unfolded. Nothing else has happened to us since it's been gone, either.
