Otis traction elevators located at the Hilton Mississauga Meadowvale in Mississauga, Ontario. These are the South Tower elevators. Modernized. Installed in 1981. Formerly the Delta Meadowvale.

Here is a modernized Montgomery hydraulic elevator from 1976 at the JC Penney store at Lakeside Mall in Sterling Heights, Michigan. A suburb of Detroit. This mall contained a Westinghouse elevator with original fixtures and unique glassback (scenic) design, but was extremely crowded (lined-up) so I didn't get a take of that one. These are still my favourite elevators, hands down. OTIS high speed elevators at the Toronto Dominion Bank Tower in downtown Toronto, Ontario. Building was built in 1967 and designed by famous architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Fixtures were modernized with Dewhurst US-89 Compact 2, a fixture that is... well... a fixture in Toronto.

Beautiful old OTIS elevators at the Fairmont Royal York hotel in downtown Toronto, Ontario. Built in 1929, fixtures have been modernized but the cabs still have that old look to them. Stopped at the lobby to show you guys the beautiful gold doors at that level.

Here is a tour of my hotel room at the Toronto Marriott Eaton Centre. This is a very nice hotel and the location couldn't be better. There is also a walkway connecting it right to the Eaton Centre. This was taken back in March.

With the arrival of the TR (New Toronto Rocket) trainsets this year, I thought I'd take one last ride on the old H4's. I do remember these and the H1's as a kid visiting Toronto, none of the older stock though. Now that the first TR train has arrived, its only a matter of time before the H4's and my favourite ones, the H5's are retired.

TK modernized these old Armor elevators which were modernized by Northern previously. Again, I will state that between L and H1, there is an express zone, skips about 6 floors or something like that and then starts at 1 for the floors the hotel rooms are on. Very nice modernization, although they did away with the light indicator that I liked.

Heres one that stumps me. This is at the Ryrie Building, 229 Yonge Street in downtown Toronto. A very old building built back in 1891. Very interesting lobby here, but I just can't date the installation date of the elevators. I would have to assume pre 1940's based on the lobby architecture style and arrangement. And that old Canada Post box. Possibly Otis-Fensom would be my best guess for the ...

An old Armor elevator at the Cumberland Terrace shopping plaza in downtown Toronto, Ontario. This whole Cumberland Terrace/ lower Bloor mall between Bay and Yonge has such a 1970's idea of the future feel to it with the brass and brick. Unmodernized though. Very cool.

Older Otis pre-lexan traction elevators at 94 Cumberland Street in downtown Toronto. My friends, this is how to modernize an elevator. Update the dated look of the cabs. Keep the buttons, theres nothing wrong with them. Light indicator inside and out. Directional arrows with mechanical bell. Just an absolute beauty.

Previously the Holiday Inn on King, now the Hyatt regency Toronto. Also, elevators originally Northern but were modernized, and quite nicely by ThyssenKrupp. Too many people were getting on at the end so I kind of gave up on it. Very busy when I was there.

Huh wow....look at all those people stabbing each other and pushing each other onto the tracks. I guess the media wasn't full of $hit and lying to people to create an unneed panic for views and the people were not being over dramatic little drama queens. It is a real blood bath going on on those trains.

Soon only the garage will remain. The hospital will be torn down and a Transitional Stability Centre and Wellness Centre will be built. Don't worry. This parking garage will remain. It says so on their website here: windsorstar.com/news/mega-hospital-highlights
