My husband has not been in military, law enforcement or anything but we do live in today’s time. Yes he has been to many hand gun training classes and always has to sit watching the door and mostly people. It can be hard, I feel for these guys. Thanks for your service!

It’s understandable. When you’ve faced consistent levels of threat that many will never know, it changes your view of how things can go.. learning to calibrate and discern how safe or in danger am I actually, has helped me be able to relax a lot more..finding spaces that are safe, where I know a lot of people, like a church community, has helped..you can start to get acclimated to the safety.. But also, I mean, there is a lot of crazy stuff in the world, so you do have to be aware of your surroundings when you’re out in public.

It gets better brother, hang in there.

It can get interesting when you go out with a group of guys that all want the best advantage seat. They all know what they're doing, But it's just trained into you to have the best spot. Particular group of guys and I'm referring to work together so when they all do go out to a restaurant, the person who gets that seat is already understood tasked with making sure they look out for everybody.

So sad. Guy has been made into a war machine.

I’m sorry incredibly sorry you’re dealing with this struggle. I can’t even imagine because I’ve never been in any kind of combat or that kind of situation. Only SA ‘d and raped and witnessed an extreme accident and had a man die in my arms trying to help. Regardless something changed in my brain all these times and now my system is on high alert. ‼️ constant fight or flight mode. The drs can’t figure out how to calm it down. Medication does absolutely nothing. I pass coordination tests 100% on tons of medication that is supposed to suppress my system. I even go for anesthesia and I don’t get put to sleep and they are left scratching their heads ?? I tell them ahead of time they don’t believe me. I used to have panic attacks so badly that I would drench in sweat from head to toe and pass out at work. That wasn’t even enough for disability I had to start attempting suicide ( and lords knows I didn’t know what I was doing because I was anti depressants resistant. Meaning it goes the other way. At least 10-12 attempts on my life. I had no idea what I was doing. That goodness my body can handle a shit ton of meds because that’s what kept me here. I now know. I do meditation, breath work, and so much more each day. See a specialized counsellor who is not cheap but I trust her and she’s overqualified. I pray you find peace my friend. I know how hard it is just to leave the house. I’m agoraphobic, suffer from chronic pain issues as well. But it breaks my heart that you need to set yourself up to feel ok. And honestly it’s ok my friend. You have bern through way more than me I guess am 😅 mm
