Here is the passage with corrected grammar: The poem "Easter 1916" by W.B. Yeats was written in 1916 and published in 1920. During the Easter festival in 1916, the Irish Nationalists conducted a rebellion. The themes of the poem are heroism, sacrifice, and death. The poem begins by remembering the rebels of Easter 1916, many of whom the poet had acquaintance with. He had met many of their vivid faces while passing through the streets before the Easter Rising; they were just ordinary people who worked in offices and shops. The poet would sometimes linger in front of them and stop for a while in the evenings. Although he was not very close to them, he was acquainted with many of these heroes. The poet uses the word motley to describe the ordinary life of human beings which are simple without any adventures he thought that before the rebellion they were all the same but now everything has changed the Easter rising has given birth to a terrible Beauty and everything has been transformed The Easter rising is described as "terrible beauty" where the terrible thing is that there where rebellion violence and many people were involved in it and death descended upon them 84 ordinary people and 16 of the leaders where put it to death Next the beauty is that this event has brought out the heroism in the Irish people. Thus they become the people of courage This Easter rising was a motive to the Irish independence movement that is why the poet had made this combination of terrible beauty is born The first person mentioned in the poem is a woman named Countess Constance Markievicz. She was a prominent figure in aristocratic circles, highly educated, and an accomplished artist. She fought throughout the nights, giving her all, until her voice became hoarse. The poet notes that her voice was sweeter in her youth, when she was young and beautiful, but as time passed and she became involved in the struggles for freedom, protesting alongside ordinary people and rising her voice, it has become harsh. The second person mentioned in the poem is Padraic Pearse. He was an educator, writer, and poet of Irish literature during that period, and had a college of his own. He was also a participant in this rebellion. The third person the poet mentions in the poem is a helper of Padraic Pearse, with whom WB Yeats was also acquainted. His name was Thomas MacDonagh. He was a newcomer to the rebellion, but it is believed that he also gained fame as a poet in the end, due to his writings on the freedom struggles. The last person mentioned is a drunkard named Major John MacBride. The poet mentions him not due to love or acquaintance, but because of his hatred towards him. The drunkard is a vainglorious person who constantly boasts about himself and his silly deeds. The reason behind the poet's hatred for the drunkard is that he hurt the feelings of someone Yeats loved. Here, the poet refers to Maud Gonne, an actress whom Yeats loved. John MacBride married her, and after several years, they got separated, thus hurting someone who was very close to Yeats' heart. However, despite this personal animosity, Yeats still included him among the heroes, acknowledging that MacBride had changed and joined the freedom struggle.
