Lighthouse - One Fine Morning - Social Distancing Project
For our third Social Distancing Musical Tribute we are reviving a Rockin’ Good song from 1971 called “One Fine Morning”.
The group was called Lighthouse and they were a large Jazz/Rock band with Horn and String players.
Richie, Jerry, Billy and myself would play this song at high school dances and in local clubs way back when in the good ole days. Now we are very fortunate as we have some young musicians who are carrying on the tradition, my son Joseph who played drums and mixed the music and video, and Richie’s stepson David who rocked the bass part.
Billy nailed the jazzy piano solo and to top it off, our good friend John played a ripping guitar solo to close it all out on a high note.

As we all try to adjust to the to a ‘New Normal’, I’m so very thankful that I can still connect with my good buddies and continue to make music. After recording Make Me Smile with my son Joseph and friends, I reached out to a couple of old bandmates to join us for a rendition of ‘Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?’ written by Chicago’s Robert Lamm. Joining Joseph and I for this socially ...

This what happens during a dangerous pandemic, when a couple of college kids are stuck in their homes and would rather be performing Live music. They look to technology to make a virtual band. Joe asked his dad to join i...

Wow, guys, great job. Perfect to my ears--in pitch, pace, and performance--having listened to this song for decades, including other covers. Awesome job in channeling Terry Kath there, Joe Jr. Great job also on the audio engineering, and of course to all involved. It must have been a lot of work, and though an auspicious beginning, it's understandable if you couldn't get beyond the three recordings. Thanks for sharing this and them, and here's hoping in time you may do more. I'll subscribe, in case. :-)

Ouuh beautiful! a very very fan of lighthouse was talk!
I 'see' a LOT of 'Incognito' at work here, especially recording different musicians apart from one another, and 'mixing' the elements together along the lines of 'We're in this world together'.
Well done.

Nice trebley bass tone. Good effort -- but most of all a great selection. Thanks guys!
OMG so many memories. Reminds me of the Sound of Music Festival Burlington, hearing this sailing on the summer breezze. Would love to hear them again
It sounds like the original. Bravo from Quebec
Great job! I remember spinning the vinyl in the 70s. :)
James Pankow with a beard playing from Chicago! Haha. What program allows all those 12 split screens? I used to know a guy in the 60's named Harley Stivers. John Stivers your guitarist looks just like him. Any relation? Very kool video of a great song.
Excellent, how I miss Lighthouse.
Well Done .
Well, your son Joseph is a darn good drummer and delivered the perfect feel for this song.
Not to mention David's melodic and tight bass. Wow
Wow! That was fabulous guys! 👏 Everyone is so talented! Thank you for your gift of the love for Chicago! Terry Kath would be damn proud!
