What is a Mechanical Extract Ventilation (MEV) System? - Condensation Control
zhlédnutí 18Před 19 hodinami
A Mechanical Extract Ventilation (MEV) is a centralised system that extracts air from wet rooms with a property. It is continuously running and can be boosted via a humidistat or boost switches. The system will remove moist air and contaminants from within a property, and this will result in drier and cleaner air. Therefore, there is less risk of mould and condensation issues. #ventilation #mec...

Introduction to the Nuaire Faith (DMEV) Continuous Running Extract Fan

This video is an introduction to the Nuaire Faith DMEV fan and the principle of continuous running ventilation. This type of ventilation is quiet, energy efficient and can move large amounts of air from a house, resulting in a drier internal atmosphere. This is not a sponsored video. #condensation #ventilation #nuaire #nuairefaith #damp

Pre-Purchase Damp Survey - What kind of things get picked up on the survey.
zhlédnutí 26Před 2 měsíci
This video is a summary of a pre-purchase damp survey which has been carried out to a traditional solid brick built terrace house in Derbyshire. The aim of the video is to show some of the items which can be picked up during the survey. A damp survey should always follow a logical order and look for all possible causes of dampness, such as those items listed in British Standard 6576:2005. A tho...
Why a free damp survey is a waste of time.
zhlédnutí 166Před 2 lety
We were provided with a copy of a free damp and timber survey report for this property in Derbyshire. The report completely missed loads of issues which will be causing dampness problems internally. The moral of the story is to pay someone for their time and they should carry out a survey correctly and provide a decent report.
MORI HR - Alternate Flow Fan - Ventilation for Habitable Rooms - Ultra Quiet Fan
zhlédnutí 337Před 2 lety
Not the most exciting video but a demonstration of how quiet a MORI HR alternate flow supply extract fan is. The fans are designed for habitable rooms (Not wet rooms) and will help improve ventilation and reduce indoor air pollutants. Often used in basement and other rooms which are hard to ventilate. #ventilation #extractorfan #condensation #condensationcontrol

Debris in a cavity wall causing dampness internally
Good vid Paul 👌
What methods do you recommend for cleaning out the rubble/debris?
@bigbigsky8878 depends on how much debris there is and the consistency of it. Bricks will need removing at regular intervals, but don't remove too many that it will compromise the wall structure. To clean out the cavity it is cleared by hand or vacuum if the debris is fine.
got it in a new build, but I have a problem - it blows a dust like(chalk feeling) in to the rooms, cleaned filter, less but still similar
@SandrKozlov Maybe the chalk like feeling is plasterboard dust. This may have gathered in the ducting if it wasn't protected between the MVHR first fix and second fix or if the unit was turned on before all the internal works on the propertyhad finished. Keep cleaning the filters and hopefully it will eventually improve.
Quality buddy 🔥🔥🔥
@@completepreservation Thanks. Appreciate the comment.
This isn't quite at all
do they make any noises?
Brilliant video Paul showing the extent of dry rot. Was there any obvious signs above the floor👍
Thank you for the comment Ross. The only signs above the floor was a slight deflection to the floor in one room. Luckily there were quite a few inspection hatches into the sub floor void so we were able to have a really good look around to see the full extent of the outbreak.
Do these release a bad scent when they are threatened or touched?
We have never seen any information or had any experience of a bad scent being released.
@@CkwalkerCoUk thanks for replying. Noted!
