154. Straight Cue Action - Pot balls consistently
zhlédnutí 50KPřed 9 měsíci
You should try to develop a reliable, consistent and preferably a straight cue action to enable you to pot balls consistently. Your aim starts with the butt end of the cue and your technique to deliver it must be repeated time after time after time. Some people claim you only need to learn the game and that technique is not so important. I disagree! Learn the game, yes, but it all starts with t...

Can you hit the cue ball in the centre and still add side? You certainly can. Cueing across the ball is a common flaw, and usually unintentional, but it will cause inconsistency in your game. Correcting it will help add that consistency.

Are you aiming to miss pot with side over long distance. ? With left hand side would you aim thinner ,? And check side thicker ? Or does this only work over shorter distances ? Thanks
great video
Hi Barry , how much do you tighten the elkmaster tip in the tip compressor , do you tighten it as tight as possible ?, or just nip it tight ?
Too young too damn to realize
Hi Barry love your videos keep it up. I have a question regarding the freeball situation. Only the 6 colours remaining and I have a freeball after my opponent fouls and snookers me on the yellow behind the black. I nominate black as my freeball and try to play a safety shot to put the black safe on a cushion. Unfortunately I under hit the shot and the black only partially covers the yellow so my opponent can hit the yellow about half ball. Is this a foul because he can’t hit both sides of the yellow or is it a legal shot because he’s not actually snookered fully. Thanks
been playing a few months i line the ball up and as soon as I hit the ball 70% of the time i know it is offline and miss.
Thank you very much may allah give you whatever you want in your life❤❤❤
Hi Barry, some great tips, especially rhe videos about aiming to improve, I'm currently changing my technique and it's so easy to revert back to comfort, missing some easy balls but also seeing some positive signs which lead me to believe I'm on the right track
This helped me a lot, I am friends firstly with Kyren, I've met you Barry at Barrats, but live in China. I never understand why I play in my club freely, play really good, then go to a tournament and play awful. I am now regional Champion, but that tournament was in my club, so I can play, my practice routines are similar. I do not do line ups, I like to put the balls around, pot, relax, flow, learn the cloth, more important the side, top, stun I am putting into the cue ball. Obviously in my club, i know that on the tables we have. A few weeks ago I went for a seniors tournament, was playing amazing the night prior on one table, went to play, played awful on "new to me" cloths/tables they had in the match area. Same for a tournament I qualified in, that Kyren played in, I beat some very good players to reach it, then played awful, I need to learn these routines before matches. This gives me a good sense of things i need to do.
The 2024 No. 1 ranking, Mark Allen, has a distinctly short cue action. To me it seems his forte is in around the black ball area, staying very controlled. Although maybe its more difficult to play that way....
that straight cueing at the end was insane. It looks like Kyren's head is edited to remain still. Perfection.
This partnership clearly paid off. Congrats Kyren - World Champion. Congrats Barry for being a fantastic coach!
i get what he is saying normal opticians are not able to set the normal glasses according to your need.
❤❤❤ Sir, because of you I got to learn a lot, I have been playing snooker for 10 years but I have just learned how to play, thank you very much. ❤❤

Experiência em pessoa , sempre que o senhor puder coloca legenda em português nós brasileiros ficaremos agradecidos
I may know the answer for your quiz the player a that breaks potted a red and black that 's 7 points foul for player b but he was also left with a 14 red instead of 15 so the brakes go on instead of 120 for 15 reds and 15 blacks he managed to do 112 because he only got 14 Reds and that means 14 blAcks as well plus the seven point fool that would be a 119 + 27 of the six colors that would be 146
A follow up of her progresion would be great
Muitos brasileiros queria acompanhar . Coloca a legenda em português de todos seus vídeos . Obrigado

Can I ask? Foul and miss situation. Player 1 has 50poits, player 2 had 32 point (18ahead). On table is last 3 balls (blue, pink, black). Player 1 do miss on blue ball after snooker. Is it faul and miss or only faul? Thank you for answer…
And new world champ!! huge fan of Kyren!
I wish I could get lessons from the great wiseman Mr Barry.
I notice that quite often, Kyrens forward swing starts slow and then really accelerates into the contact. But other times it’s a more conventional smooth arc of speed. Is their a rationale for when he uses each style?
❤❤
Not a free ball as you can see the full face and lying straight
Did the double go in Bazz? bTW I was watching out for you during the wSC final
Great video Barry.
The great game.😛

2020 was a depressing year for all of us because of COVID-19, but still, it was good that you were recording in spite of that.
Never. Got it without your help Barry
while standing up you find the line of aim right, then you watch at the cueball then object ball and then walk in and get down. so from standing position to getting down how many times do you flick your eyes to white or object, and until your bridge hand hits the cushion, which ball you look, do you have to lock to either white object ball as you are getting down? tnx
Hello from the USA. If that was me playing for real, I would choose to sink the green ball in that first scenario you presented. In the second scenario, I mistakenly thought you may possibly have a free ball because the pink ball is where it is, assuming the reds are the balls "on." If you say it is not a free ball, however, it is not a free ball.
Eu passei a gostar do sinuca mais não sou muito bom e por isso estou aprendendo muito.
Thank u Barry!You are the best❤
Cuecraft loved unique badges. Now it has unified and changed.
Hey mate, quick question none of the coaches seem to address when talking about side. What are your eyes doing? When you address a shot with side is the tip of your cue still in the center of your vision? Or is the center of the cue ball in the center of your vision? If it's the cue ball, is your cue parallel to the center line you are looking down? I'd urge you to approach a shot with this in mind to make sure. When I started thinking about this and tested it I assumed my tip would be centered but I was surprised to learn that I have the cue ball in the center of my vision with my cue slightly off parallel. I'm very curious to know if other players approach it like this, whether both ways are acceptable or if I'm dead wrong and have been doing it wrong for the last 20 years.
I don’t play snooker. I’m an amatuer pool player. But I do love billiards and want to go to the essence. After working in more than one year, finally I found my hand grip because of this video. Wonderful feeling. 15/15 stop shot, 15/15 draw shot and 14/15 follow shot. both sides. No spin. Smooth. I got it. Thank so much master. I love your all videos
Iam learning the rudiments.just to say thanks so much.
Great snooker practice routine! Great advice on practicing on both sides of the table, pure snooker coaching gold! Thanks Barry and Kyren for sharing your knowlwdge!
Good day, How can a free from D and a free ball arise at the same time? Is it possible?
Legit couldnt do it at all, kept making the ball jump and slipping off the cue, but as soon as i watched this and flattened the cue, and hit low it worked instantly, thank you barry
