Marvelous Cristina ❤The best Macbeth ever heard after Callas ❤❤❤
Un fenómeno vocal en TODO sentido dicho. Totalmente infravalorado. Aquí espectacular como pocas, poquísimas de comienzo a fin de esta escena. Grande Deutekom. Para mi una de las voces más impresionantes de la historia de la lírica. Y si, definitivamente, la mejor Reina de la noche de Mozart. ¿Y luego? Los estudios de grabación...... prácticamente la dejaron de lado. Una voz fiel a si misma, sin cliches, con personalidad, profesionalismo y técnica espectacular.
A soprano who makes one of the most difficult roles sound easy. Effortless.

She would have been nearly 60 here - sounding fabulous! Interesting to note that this would be around the same time as those concerts she sang Turandot's aria fabulously as well.

Gorgeous, effortless sound from top to bottom, but she irons out all the trills, and the scales are not smooth (even though her trademark "turkey" effect is kept to a minimum here).
In fact she was here lazy or idk, but she had really good trills bro

Unfortunately not. From his role she only sang this duet in one single concert performance.
@@martello79 She did sing Ritorna Vincitor in a concert in NLD, I think it must have been around 1998 or so. It was a concert with piano in Voorst. I don't know if it was recorded.
This is pretty good and unfortunately her voice has detoriated a bit lately. Top is worn and sounds spread.

Along with her stupefying coloratura, the role of Lady Macbeth was perfect for Deutekom's huge instrument and yet she has the finesse to toss off the last note, which most sopranos don't even bother to do anymore, with a most haunting pianissma.
Such peculiar and lovely soprano voice. Fairly bright in colour but penetrating without being shrill.
One of my favourite coloratura sopranos, ever.

Unfortunately I don't have the complete recording anymore. But it should be somewhere out there! It really is a treat with Anja Silja singing Klytaemnestra.

Incredible singing, I did not know Deutekom sang Macbeth ! You can hear that she models herself on Callas, yet has her own way of portraing the Lady. Brava!

Singers get older too and their voices shows some damage, no secret at all. Her prime was at the 80th and early 90th. There she was a really wonderful singer with sumptuous voice. Her Tosca and Donna Anna are my first choice, great.
That's right, but why continue on singing if her voice is in this state (which is actually not that bad, way better than many modern singers in their prime - but this role is one of the most difficult even for a young, good voice)? She must hear how she sounds...
Deutekom is fully expressive . Her voice encompasses the larger than life aspects of the role through the ability vocally trace every nuance and create such huge gleaming streams of sound to characterize this malevolent woman. FANTASTIC!

Sorry, not very well sung. She very often sings flat. Maybe partially to blame is the slow tempo.
Beautiful voice and very well sung. I love the way she portrays her characters....so emotionally involved, beautiful phrasing.....and the voice is simply amazing. The low register is not as strong as I would prefer for this aria, but this is only a minor observation.....such a wonderful interpretation makes you forget these details. BRAVA!

Es soll irgendwo sein aber ich finde es nicht leicht wieder, Ich hatte ein Exemplar aber leider eins die CDs zerbrochen :(. Mit Anja Silja als Klytaemnestra die was auch toll.

+Matthieu Degott IShe is not a newcomer on the stage, already singing the Isoldes and Brunnhildes for more than 15 years. When you hear her live you hear that although the volume is very big there is definitely not much strain on the voice. She know how to handle. It is now 7 years later and she sings Elektra and Isolde big big success.
Mr. Degott, evidentemente Ud. no sabe nada de ópera. Herlitzius es una de las más interesantes sopranos dramáticas de los últimos veinte años, con un color de voz muy personal y recursos vocales y dramáticos extraordinarios. En cuanto a Vinzing, a quien tuve la suerte de ver en el Colón en Isolda, Brunilda y Elektra, otra cantante excepcional de primera línea.
Very fine voice which is becoming a rarity today but Gergiev's tempo is too slow to begin and he then steps briefly on the accelerator messing up the natural flow of the music

50 full and complete years on stage... And after all the most terrible dramatic roles, she is still able to sing so beautifully this difficult song. Unbelievable!!!
