      It is great! We usually take it down at 19kn of Aw. The sail is expensive so we are careful. Also when the wind gets higher, it is hard to pull the sail down.

    Your particular boat probably has not seen sea states intense enough to cause the type of evidence that so many others have. It may only be a matter of time, in your case.

    • @Waveriderslife
      @Waveriderslife Před rokem

      Really!!?? If you followed us you would not say that. We have sailed over 35,000nm and 3/4 of the way around the world. We have had 60kn winds and over 10 m waves hit us. We have sailed in high winds and large seas for more than half of our milage. We know how to reef soon, we know how to depower the top of our mainsail and we listen to our boat. If caught in a bad storm, we head away or downwind until it passes. Two days ago this happened crossing from the Tuamotus to Moorea. Storms and water spouts around us. Pretty scary but we can manage it and the boat handles well.

    This is not nice at all. Minor though it seems to be, this is structural damage and there is no guarantee that it will not turn into something major in time. Lagoon used to be my favorite brand of catamaran. No more. The half-assed look of the carpentry job that seems to characterize most unseen plywood parts on the boat as well as the company's reaction to complaints about failing bulkheads (along the lines of "you are to blame not us") certainly do not inspire confidence in the builders of this brand. Very short-sighted indeed.

    Lagoon is a disgrace. They know they have a problem and it’s all theirs. I can not believe they deny all responsibility and abandon all those owners. If you have a Lagoon and the bulkhead is not yet failing be assured it’s just a matter of time. Your bulk heads will buckle. It’s a defect built into the boat and known as a latent defect, meaning it will eventually fail. There is no way on earth I will ever buy a Lagoon, unless there is a document video of all repairs, a engineers certificate from Lagoon and a life time warranty from Lagoon. This just will not happen. Feel so sorry for all you Lagoon owners. The Lagoon boats are a bomb ticking and will always be viewed as a LEMON. THE BULKHEADS WILL EVENTUALLY BUCKLE AND FAIL.

    I would want a sailboat without all of the paneling trim covering up the structural strength members. It gives you easy inspection and lightens the boat considerably. Imagine if a boat trimmed out like to Lagoon got holed. How would you even get to the damage to repair it in a timely manner other than going over the side in potentially rough seas. Bad design.
