    small note about the disconnect: when it gets stuck in the halfway position, the center tab needs to be pressed it's a weird double-locking thing. ugh... I had my trouble getting the lever started because the two side tabs engaged a bit too strongly. (nothing a screwdriver wouldn't help with)

    I'm just about to try this maneuver on our 2013 Leaf, replacing the original battery with a 2022 62kWh. Can't wait to see the range after we're done with the swap. The original battery is still at about 70% SOH so I'm going to use the cells for home backup, which is a nice bonus.

    • @tehbonehead
      @tehbonehead Před 8 měsíci

      Those are jack stands, and unless they're the deadly harbor freight ones, they're fine. They're the accepted method when you don't have a lift. If you position them correctly and are on hard level ground they're very stable. I've supported a 9000# truck with them. If you're worried about it, you shake the bejeezus out of it before you get under.

    • @turbo_brian
      @turbo_brian Před 8 měsíci

      I mean you should shake any vehicle before you get under it, jack stand or lift. But yeah jack stands literally are the correct way to do this in this case, blocking the tires would be less safe because tires can roll.

Maybe something I haven’t thought of 😢it’s been a great bike love it just gotta get this fixed and cruise again 😎

    I had exact same problem with my passenger side door. The metal arm wouldn’t adjust the spring to pop it open like it goes on the driver side. Hopefully this will pop it open so that I can then figure out how to repair the spring inside the door, so that I can actually use the doorhandles to unlock and open that door. Oddly, I did the same thing with my back hatch, but now it only stays open. It won’t latch to close!
