The purpose behind this channel is to show that vehicle repairs, maintenance, and other trades can be done by anyone. I have no mechanical experience, so most of my knowledge is from a little research and learning on the go. I want to be able to encourage other people that have little mechanical experience to start working on their vehicles, get into automotives, and other DIY projects. It's never too late to learn or try something for the first time.

The trailer is finally finished after 11 months of nonstop work. I could not be more excited with how it turned out and all of the stuff that I learned how to do along the way.
Spraying Base and Clear | Ep. 26 | 1940's Chevy Trailer Restoration
zhlédnutí 279Před 3 lety
It is finally time to spray the base and clear on the bed pieces. This is the first time I have done something like this so there was a little bit of a learning curve for me. There were a few issues along the way that had to be fixed but in the end the paint turned out fantastic! Paint Gun: Astro EuroPro HE
Sanding Primer | Ep 25 | 1940's Chevy Trailer Restoration
zhlédnutí 198Před 3 lety
We finish prepping the body pieces for paint by sanding the primer using 320, 400 (wet), and 600 (wet) grit sandpaper. They are all super smooth now and ready for the base and clear to be sprayed.
Spraying Primer! | Ep. 24 | 1940's Chevy Trailer Restoration
zhlédnutí 127Před 3 lety
We catch some beautiful weather and are able to spray primer on the bedsides and fenders. I have a little issue on the second coat but get it figured out and am able to lay down a really nice third coat. The fenders look fantastic!

Smoothing the Edges of the Bedside | Part 21 | 1940's Chevy Trailer Restoration
zhlédnutí 98Před 3 lety
The bedsides now come off of the frame for the last time. It is now time to apply bondo to the bedsides to smooth the transitions between the old metal and the new. This will be some of the finishing touches to get it ready to be painted.
One More Thing | Ep. 20 | 1940's Chevy Trailer Restoration
zhlédnutí 61Před 3 lety
There is one last thing that I need to get done while the bed sides are on. So We get that made in this video and get ready to pull the sides off. This trailer is really coming together.

zhlédnutí 206Před 3 lety
We get the brackets and pieces made to mount the bedsides to the frame. We also get the tailgate and the fenders mounted in this one as well. The trailer is finally starting to take shape and I could not be more excited with the results!
Fender Repair | Part 17 | 1940's Chevy Trailer Restoration
zhlédnutí 11KPřed 3 lety
I get to work on the fenders beating out all of the dents and getting them back into shape. I also have to replace a few rust spots on the bottom of both of the fenders. They end up turning out great! Music Courtesy of Streambeats
Bed Sides Complete | Part 16 | 1940's Chevy Trailer Restoration
zhlédnutí 96Před 3 lety
I tackle the second bed side and get it completely finished. This one goes through the process quicker as I covered the process in depth in the previous 2 videos. We will probably start working on fitting the bed panels together in the next one.
Bed Patch Panel Fab | Part 15 | 1940's Chevy Trailer Restoration
zhlédnutí 109Před 3 lety
The bed side gets 95% complete in this video as we finish out the weld on the rolled piece and get it all ground down. We then take on the task of making patch panels for the columns that go on either end of the bedside. The majority of them have the bottom half rusted off so we will need to make new pieces to replace them. The process takes quite a long time but the finished product is somethi...
Bed Side Repair & Fab | Part 14 | 1940's Chevy Trailer Restoration

Antique Toolbox Restoration | Part 2 | It's Finished
Well, you did assemble the unit but actually gave pretty much no details. 1. The tires are directional. There is a left side and a right, and you can mount wrong. (The arrow-like tread pattern faces towards the hitch, also a directional arrow on the inside Of the tire). 2. Tire mounting: The off set axel is to be mounted so it is under the box steel tube. 3. Relocate the Stand Foot holes to the holes closest to the Mounting holes on the hitch receiver FIRST before mounting on the Unit body. 4. After Stand - mount the hitch bar FIRST, before the discharge shoot. This makes maneuvering the Unit so much easier. 5. Tip - gasket for discharge shoot will move around while trying to hold the shoot & get a bolt started. *small smears off any kind of grease or silicon or other on the Unit then gasket on top and it “sticks” in place. You still have to be careful but it really helps. 6. Although not asked for - apply bearing grease or other grease on the pins and the pin receivers before assembling the intake shoot. It protects the Metal to metal contact, the grease also will take-up any space between pins and receivers to prevent an accumulation of dust, debris. fyi fun facts, Tips - washers have a front and back, smooth side goes against frame/body, not smooth is for the Nut. Tip - there will be some rusted washers - Replace them with new better washers. Rusted washers will continue to rust and spread that rust to adjacent parts! Other than above - great vid Tks!
Thanks a ton for sharing! I reviewed a few videos before attempting the job, glad I went with yours. Awesome tips. Another diy under my belt. 240,040 miles and going! TY!!
I just hope I can do this fixing... Informative video...
My 46re has been acting up its cold can drive it for a few mile then drops in neutral have to turn it off and back on works for a few minutes then does it again
Hard up for some information that’s usable. Does anybody know if a 1998 46RE is a straight up replacement for a 1996 Ram 46RE far as wiring ???! Thanks for any help I’m reading the only 97 is fully compatible with 96 online and I’m not getting a straight answer. Nice video by the way.
Thanks for your information. I was able to put mine together while following your video. I was able to assemble it alone. The toughest part was picking the front end up while trying to get the stand on the front. I was able to slide a floor jack between the tires and jacked the front end up easily. Small detail about the tires. The manual shows the tires both ways. However if you look closely you will see optimal rotation arrow on the tires. Not a big deal but you and I did install them correctly. Good job, and thanks again.
I do alot of European vehicles and I use identifix for repair info I also use matco 4.0 for diagnostics and I own a professional mechanic shop and rarely use you tube for anything because you either get shadetree type explanations or videos that don't explain to much not needed info or don't explain needed info...you sir did a good job with everything on this video and i would love to see more jobs you have done especially European cars...great detailed video...professional work ethic...would love to see more from you and I'm doing a 2013 vw beetle 2.5 this week and I am thankful I found your awesome performance video ...if you ever come to alvin texas and are looking for a job come see all things automotive
Your so lucky you can share this with Dad!
Thinking about doing this job soon on my 05. Could you or someone explain how I would do it with a presser tool? I would have to have that short socket to push the cap out into right ?
What about the rear set
I have the same engine- it’s idling rough and has had 1-2 misfires. The codes point to what is normally a camshaft adjuster magnet- so I suspect this is what I’ll have to end up doing. Probably the best video I’ve seen showing how to do this. For a moment, I thought I could do it, now I know better lol.
When I was removing my oil pump to do the seal, the front set of clutches fell out of place. Is there any way I can get those back in without pulling the whole transmission? I'm about ready to sell this thing
Question, I have a 04 Tacoma crew cab and I’m looking to replace the front spring/strut complete setup. What setup/parts did you use? 4Runner set?
Good choice I got the same unit last year It's a beast, I now have a mountain of excellent mulch for the gardens. It shredded everything I put in it
Theres a super good indepth tear down of the 46RE by the Transmisson Bench. His videos are amazing.
What area are you guys located my 08 volkswagen Jetta needs help baddddddd....
Where y'all located? I need this done!
To align the cams with the tool which way do they lock against the tool. Do can shaft lobes rest against the tool on the inside or out side.. I could tell.
Very helpful THANK YOU VERY MUCH for making this video.. Do I need to out the 2013 vw jetta she 2.5 in time before I pull the head for gasket replacement? My concern is the cams coming out of position. I'm thinking get it TDC mark my gears connecting to timing chain for repositioning after ward. I did order the timing kit so I took your advice thank you VERY MUCH!
It's great that it didn't bend any valves. I did a little research because I'm considering buy one and I read that this is an interference engine. Really like how you bought special attention to locking the crank in and the coolant tube removal.
Very helpful video. I just replaced a valve spring cylinder 2 exhaust valve. I didn’t put the motor in time before I got started. Really dumb in hindsight. But anyway I did the same thing you did the first time put cylinder 1 at TDC then lined up cams. It ran like crap. Going to do the job again tomorrow hopefully the right way this time
If I can't get enough force on the pry bar to get the bolt in then I will put a rachet strap on it to pull it down. Rachet straps are very handy. I used one to pull my transmission jack with the transmission on it from the front of my Trailblazer to under it, because I had cardboard down for me to lay on and the jack would not roll over it easily when loaded down.
How much miles do you have now
Can u link the proper tools in the description or in the comments please
I just save a 150 bucks...
Thanks great video
Thanxs for all the info much needed I did buy my kit threw transmission bench alot knowledge u can soak up threw jimmy and hes a lot of help

hello i have problem on my golf 6 2.5 nobody know in my country what’s happening on my car p0011 code
whats the year of your car? that code is camshaft timing is off
LOL I wouldn’t spend a weeks worth of work on it , if I could buy a steel reproduction for 375.00 seriously? . The reproduction will need some rework to get it right more than likely, but not a weeks worth of work.
yessir, i am not going to remove the fan like 1aauto said in their video, you have a crazy big garage man, thats some big ranch, did mine yerterday, but i unbolt the coolant reservoir, it was easy
Thank you for this video - extremely helpful - awesome job! Merry Christmas!
Very in detail and could see everything perfect thanks for the help
How much did the rebuild kit cost I have a 2001 Dodge ram 5.9 two-wheel drive
Hey i found a 3 tab output shaft washer (is what they call it) in my pan where does that go? I cant find anywhere on it.
You're rebuilding a transmission and you don't know what a band anchor is?....this should be good...where's my popcorn?
Wow what about the tprque for the vvt sprocket. Just watched 16 minutes for nothing
Great video! Did this transmission come from a 4WD drive vehicle? My transmission is from a 2001 Ram 1500 5.2L 4WD Truck which I think has a 42RE. Looks the same though. Is there a difference?
I had all the guides on when I went to put in and torque the cam sprocket gears
Thanks for the torque specs! Only video that mentioned its 80ftlbs
Thanks Dude
G12/13 coolant regular car guys 🙄
Hey man I just wanted to let you know your video was informative and very helpful. No bullshit, just step by step exactly what you need to do and what to expect. Keep up the good work! Thanks again
I've rebuilt those Chrysler overdrives since the inception and I've always injoyed having them on my workbench 👍 Edwards brothers TRANSMISSION since 1977 😀
Very well explained. I nailed the rebuild because of your CZcams help. Ty
does this mean if I have a panel that cost me 375 dollars for a new one, you will fix my old one cheaper for a weeks worth of work???? Where are you located???
Loved the video
