@ThumbWarDestroyer and make sure you have shader 3...my computer surpasses all the recommended qualitys but i dont have shader :/ therefor i can only play it on very low quality with lag ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)

My favorite plane :D its half helicopter half plane and it flies like a charm! Thanks to the VTOL ( helicopter-ish part) it's easy to take off and land.

when in hover jet engines use alot more fuel, next to that alot more dangerous cause of the backlblast onto the tarmac, not very nice when your standing around it.

Crysis VTOLs are fantastic, but surely if the US can develop the Osprey, then a jet version can't be far off. Jet engines > propellors

ArmA2 is a post modern engine and needs a well equiped PC to run smoothly at higher graphics settings. I am not familiar with the specs you mention but it sounds like you have plenty of RAM. :-)Check the min specs on the ArmA2 web site. I hope you all can run it and I see you in a server soon. :-)

I once have managed to place satchel charges so that they have destroyed the whole convoy. dealing with the QRF bmp was a child play for the AA platoon

I think it's high time for a jet-vtol air transport, like the gunships from G-Police or the dropships from BF2142 or Crysis.

ArmA2 is outstanding as expected. I would reccomend it to all players, arcade shooters to serious simulation addicts. This game can be adjusted to be a shooting gallery or a realistic simulation and all points in between. ..DOA

The Harrier had its share of accidents also. The Osprey's accicents loose so much more life because the harrier has one pilot, the Ospreys can be a flying bus, carring a lot of men and thus making a crash that much more costly.

In real life? Of course they break down...after all they are usually built by the lowest bidder. Given the challanges of converting an already airborne aircraft form rotary to fixed wing "On the fly" and the challanges of switching the controls from rotary to fixed and then back again, along with all the other considerations would make this a very dangerous aircraft.

When you place an Osprey in the mission editor you can set its damage level. This can simulate battle damage or mechanical problems. This value can be changed while the mission is in progress by the mission editor.

Yes, pretty much the same as far as the controls setting screens, it is intutive and can be quickly adjusted to your individual preferences. I use a custom key bind scheme and I also create a custom stick and throtle profile for my Saitek X-52. Thanks...D

The armory is available in ArmA as well as ArmA2. Yes it is available from the main menu. You can see and read about equipment and test it out in a quick little mission setting called a challange. There were a lot of training missions made by mission editors and I guess BIS picked up on it and made it part of the game. :-)

@Bladerunner162: If a vehicle is placed in a mission "Unlocked" then any player can get in and use it. Some mission editors set the vehicles to only be driven or piloted by "Pilots". a regular grunt can not pilot them but can only ride in back or man a door gun. The default setting when you just place a vehicle in a mission is that any one may drive or pilot them. In OFP/ArmA most everything you find in the mission is usable.

The compression on youtube also causes the blur to be exagerated. One of the first things I noticed was the blur effects, sort of like Rainbow Six Vegas, and a lot more ambient noise, your battle rattle when you move, chickens, birds and other animal sounds and sounds like the wind etc. More than was present in ArmA. Also the island is like a ultra hi res nature pack. LOL, more trees, grass and bushes than ever. I have not had much time ingame but so far I am very happy. :-) Time will tell. DOA

Yeah that was always a favorite mission. Armed Assault has been released in Czech and German,US English scheduled for 1st quarter 2007. You can get the Czech or German version and use a English patcher available on the BIS Forum. ArmA looks great. Feel free to load up OFP and stop by my server and web site. www.thegraveyardshift.net. i used to love playing that mission over and over again. Yeah always make sure you get the T80 and then let your lads do the work. Then I like to take out the town by myself! What is happening, when is operation flashpoint 2 coming out?

hmm... you orchestrate the bombs so you take out the t-80 for sure, and at least the shilka or the bmp. You press 0, 0, and 1, I think, to call bravo to attack the convoy.

ah ok..btw i could never do this section....there was allways a tank left xP and i dont know how to call for help
