Capital Stage is a professional nonprofit theatre company in Sacramento whose mission is to entertain, engage and challenge its audience with bold, thought-provoking theatre. Founded in 2005, Capital Stage presents seven full-length live theatre productions each year, as well as various concerts and special events in its Midtown Sacramento home at 2215 J Street. Capital Stage also offers apprenticeships and internships to individuals seeking professional experience in theatre, performing arts classes to the public, and educational theatrical opportunities in association with CLARA, The Crocker Art Museum and McGeorge School of Law. Named by The Sacramento Bee as “One of the most respected arts organizations in the region”, Capital Stage is a leader of cutting-edge quality theatre in Northern California.

Tickets to Christmas at pemberly
Saw the 2:00 show today! Absolutely delightful! Each and every member of the cast was genuine and believable. Funny, quirky, and heartfelt. Very, very enjoyable. My oldest son and his wife went with us and they loved the show. Speaks to all ages. Congratulations to the writers and cast, especially loved Lizzy and the new Lord de Bourgh...expert acting! BRAVO!

What a delightful interview! I loved hearing the stories about the transformation from the boat to the theater. Lois and I were there for that first night of Superior Donuts, and it was memorable. It was so good to see Jonatan again; it's been too long. Like Ruthan (below) we saw on average 3 live productions a week (theater, opera, music, dance, and about 50 performances a year at the Mondavi Center) pre-pandemic, and for the last year-- nada. We can hardly wait for performances to resume! Bring on the vaccine.

In 2019, Bill and I saw 90 live arts shows. In 2020, we saw16. Withdrawal is deep here, as we wait for live theatre again!!!

What a delightful interview! These two are among our favorites in the local theater scene, Janis since her remarkable performance as Callis in Master Class a decade ago, and Michael for his unrelenting struggle to keep Cap Stage as first rate theater. As Janis said, let's get the theater open again as soon as possible. We mss it!
