move aside Martin.Give way to Goodall guitars. no preamp required ? only pickup
So beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️😊
😊on u please
with all those bloody machines, your guitars, nice as they are they , might as well have been made by a robot.
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING, just INCREDIBLE, great video Sincere thanks, and kind regards Don from Hamilton NZ 😮😮😮😊
Good to hear, you use 'Tight bond ' Much more superior than hide glue, And I believe it contributes overall to a Better Sounding guitar 😮😮😊
GREAT to HEAR your Building Philosophy " we want it to be Sounding The best " and so you build That way, I only wish I could afford one, never mind, as my dear old Mum would say " be happy with what you've got " 😮😂😂
Good to hear, the emphasis you place on your Acoustic's, to have "a warm Yet Powerful bass" that's soo correct. I have a number of beautiful acoustic guitars, yet I always love my Martin, even though Its HPL back & sides, why, for Just That reason- a beautiful bass response, none of the others, though Great guitars, can Quite match the sound of the Martin 😊😊😊
Wow, that's simply Incredible to watch and Hear such fine remarks about someone who is obviously a perfectionist, I do very small repairs & adjustments on acoustic guitar's over here in my home town (Hamilton NZ) & I Always love watching Skillful Workmanship 😮😮😮😊
Good gosh! That thing is a beauty!
James, I'm only 3 minutes in, and I'm impressed! First, Koa is beautiful wood. Lived in Hawaii for six years, the last time, and got to work with a few pieces of Koa. I thought I was lucky for having the experience. I'll enjoy watching you work.(I also had a friend named Koa.) steve
Wow what a absolute honour it would be to own suck a guitar wow wow. Love from South Africa!!
I change to stainless steel with my taylor, for plucking its good but strumming is not good. I still prefer other fret wire such as aluminum and others
Amazing craftmanship. thank you..
Lost for words... incredible in every way.. everything..just wow..
What a pleasure watching this video. You guys are Awesome!!! Your craftsmanship is second to none.
Skill buddy skill well done 🤠👌✌️👍...
I have the 32nd Goodall, made in 79. Birdseye maple back. Anything you could tell me about it would be wonderful...
Gosh. This has to be one of the most soothing, satisfying, gratifying, videos I’ve ever watched. Your total dedication to perfection shines in every aspect…content, videography, narration, music, is all top notch!! Thank you!!
I would like to know how much you would have to put on the table for such excellent work.
As a testament to the quality of this video, I watched it in one sitting at 1x speed and hung on every word. Hard to overstate how rare that is these days.
WOW! I just watched the entire video. So mesmerizing that I couldn't stop watching. 💖

i love the sounds that i was listening to this video while watching ... wish someday to have a guitar like this ... happy new year sir
I understand that nitrocellulose laquor is traditional, and that is why some big companies still use it. But catalyzed urethane finishes will give you just as good of sound if not better and will not deteriorate nearly as much with age and environmental changes. I have never seen a cars clear coat crack because it got cold or discolor because a little bit of sweat got on it.
Incredible craftsmanship. It is fantastic to watch. Thank you for your dedication to this tremendous art.
So beautiful thank for the podcast 😊 y
Wonderful!!
Couldn't watch this as background music was way to loud !!
When I first started my guitar shop, Grizzly Tools was all I used. I was lucky enough to have some of my work with one of their guitar kits featured in their catalogs for a year or two.
I’m glad you switched to catalysed urethane . I use it on my custom furniture and it is a much more durable finish than nitro cellulose lacquer
I loved watching this video! I have a Goodall Guitar I bought used about 10 years ago and absolutely love the sound. I have yet to play a steel string guitar that sounds as good. So it was fun to see how my guitar was made, though mine was probably made in Hawaii. Thank you for your care to make an instrument that has given me so much joy to play! Life is short, so having a beautiful sounding instrument is a blessing.
Watching you is like watching Rembrandt paint one of his masterpieces. Bravo to you and your dad.
Just delightful, intriguing and beautiful both process and outcome. A work of art. Thank you. Phil - Suffolk, U.K.
I want 5000 of them at wholesale price $50 a piece, 45 days turnaround
I am surprised you do not use hide glue - would that not allow for easier restoration 150 0r 200 years from now?
What an over-long advertisement about how they make a silly guitar. I could make a better one from plywood in half an hour and only charge half the price.
Man that's beautiful. Wish I could afford one. :)
Skill and patience at its finest, pretty to watch!
Cutaway guitars are ghay...
oke hey maN
You build one of the most beautiful guitars I have ever seen I just wish I could afford one. Maybe one day I will be fortunate enough to own one . If I do I will make good on a promise I once made and use it ONLY for my savior.
People used to do all this by hand. No power tools, no machines, just hands and eyes. Yes, it’s cool, but doing the same job, without a belt sander, or a power saw, or set of very accurate vernier calliper’s to 0.001mm is more impressive.
Awesome build!!
This is the best "full build" guitar building video I've seen so far. With a meditational quality, great sounding and professionally played well composed guitar music, a really sympathetic and dedicated father-son duo (heart warming!) and awesome video work. I almost forgot how much work this is ... The rigs are impressive! Some thoughts. I think it's always a good idea to glue frets in, and properly pressed, you don't have to hammer after it. EVO gold - I used it in some builds and really like it. I think for an acoustic, the frets are a little bit high, seems to be around 1,2 mm; personally, I really don't like the feeling of high frets, and with an acoustic you don't need them because you won't bend much. Then, text says you don't glue the saddle, but in video it's glued - both is possible of course. We did not see the fret leveling, but in my opinion to reach a really low action, doing it with a Plek based on measurement under string tension is the best way, after that is the second best way to do it with a sort of Erlewine neck jig to simulate string tension. I think a variable string spacing is better than a fixed spacing, but this is shurely a preference. I really wish you that you are building these jewels for many, many decades!
It's amazing.....
$7K and worth every penny.
