A whopping 1 second but some evidence of BBC still having their original broadcast of the 1958 British Grand Prix. Featured is (most likely) Peter Collins in a Ferrari 246.
1976 German Grand Prix, TV Report

At last! The opening 90 seconds of a TV report on the 1976 German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring. Can anyone understand the name of the commentator, which is mentioned during the introduction? Closest I come to is Fritz Tanken but there is no information at all on him online. Full length of the report is 9m28s.

0:15 "Oh, he turned him... OH, HE TURNED HIM NO!"- Darrell Waltrip, 2008 Crown Royal/Dan Lowry 400 at Richmond.
Nasilda dikkatle dinliyor hic oyle kibir felan yok yani
Great great footage. 😮 The “standing start.” Group 6 Alfa Romeo T-33s and factory Ferrari 312PB too. Group 5 Ferrari 512 s run by privateers in 1971. 1000KM races should be brought back. More TV friendly in duration.
Song is Crazy Dog by Edd Kalehoff
As Graham Hill’s career fizzled out - he should have retired years before he did - you never heard Jackie Stewart say anything bad about him. Hill saved Stewart’s life on this day.
God where did 52 yrs went? miss the sound. was cool place

Gary was an awesome guy - I spent the day with him back in 1992 at the Menard Corp event at Fannie Hill in Eau Claire, WI when Al Unser let Al Unser jr beat him at Indy 500. I openly asked Al Sr why he let that happen as Gary was standing next to me & he ROFL laughing - we spent the afternoon having a blast at the Bar & I was blown away by his incredible humility and knowledge of racing. Like I was hangin out with my uncle. A truly good guy who joked how he failed that year having crashed out early in the race. He remembered my name & me like old friends when I saw him in the early 2000’s. One of the coolest ppl I ever met and got to hang out with being treated as his equal. He was also an extremely funny guy. I could go on and on with more details as to that day but I’ll spare the space here lol. Just truly honored & grateful I got to hang and tip a few beers with Gary Bettenhausen like lifelong friends - I gotta add I was stunned how little Al Unser was - he stood over a foot shorter than me (I’m 6’ 2”) I was surprised such a legend was actually really physically small lol- but he too was very nice however he distanced himself from Gary & I due to my bold question hahaha- Al was very cool about it tho shook my hand and parted my back with an admitting I was right wink at the end (right about letting Jr win. I mean what dad wouldn’t do that?? I totally would too…- I’d have less respect for Al Sr if he hadn’t and ended up winning … If you remember that race Al Sr and his son were literally neck and neck the finals seven laps and Al pulled back allowing Al Junior to win his first Indy 500 but Al Junior wasn’t on the Menard Team like his dad was so I was bummed when Sr lost - anyway my story to share lol … RIP TO BOTH Al & Gary! two all time OG legendary greats of racing. They don’t make em like either anymore that’s for sure
Braaaaam Smith 2nd. Looks like DAW Bernard Telanus first?
I had been in the chicane where the 2 Budweiser cars came together. Then sitting in the stands watching the pit stop could not believe our eyes - Tambay who was a 5th place car ended up winning.
Apparently Morton didn't have any brakes?
Rindt and Lotus!
No not the frisbee😢
if i may curiosuly ask, why did the track close?
Automobilista2 has Spa Historic too!
During Lauren's third season. Sweet Sally Field who was hot in those days! ❤
It's hard to believe they didn't even mention Lewis-Evans' fatal accident in this report. Although he didn't die at the track, he succumbed to his burns a few days later. Serious injuries and death was so common those days it wasn't even worth to talk about it.
The other cars had no chance really, the gtr had a 80m+ lead within about 3seconds of the safety car pulling out.
i came from Automobilista 2 Championship
J'étais présent à ce grand prix à Dijon !! ABSOLUMENT DIABOLIQUE ! merci à tous les deux pilotes ! La très grande classe !
Stewart was an absolute master but a very young Ronnie Peterson was the star of the show.
"You know that's a good car. I stuffed the clutch in that thing and revved it to 7,800 rpm and it didn't even bend the valves."-Masten Gregory to Caroll Shelby after the victory.
I’m Moroccan and I just realized we had a formula 1 circuit back in the 50’s, I’m just proud, even though it ended with a sad accident and the death of the British driver Lewis, I hope Morocco will soon host back a Formula 1 Race. The Moroccan Grand Prix was the season ending, Wow
1:31 o grande Emerson Fittipaldi
Retour de mercedes en 1966 ! Mdr quelle prédiction 😂
Wow
I had just graduated from WGHS a few weeks earlier and was working communications in John Morton's pit. We watched him disappear at the far end of the pits. Then we heard the impact and saw a bunch of car body parts flying through the air. Pretty cool to see it from the TV camera view!
is there a Corvette with a 396 and disc brakes??
match with little audience ... there was the final of the 1974 football world championship at the same time ... the organizers didn't understand muc
Nesse GP o Clay regazzoni sofria seu gravíssimo acidente enquanto os pilotos tentaram salvar sua vida do carro pegando fogo
When supercars were beautiful .....
Actually because of Ferrari's neglect of building road cars, the 250LM had to be run in the prototype category even though the car was built to run as a GT but Ferrari failed to build the 50 required to enter that category. It stood no chance against the GT40 and 330 P2 but 24 hrs is a great equalizer.
Thank you for posting! The Glory Days show was the best!
I was there too. Glad it didn't mow down the grandstand
On this day, Roger Penske returned with a pair of brazilians, one of them left us yesterday RIP Gil, probably our most complete driver since Senna
Quester went on to be an ok driver, Regazzoni went on to be A GREAT DRIVER.
Amazing Video
南無阿彌陀佛
Horrendous coverage, they completely left out the part from Rettifilo to 2. Lesmo. I know the broadcast was difficult back then, but for god's sake, they could have put at least one more camera at Curva Grande so the camera could follow the cars as they make way towards 1. Lesmo.
"I remember being just mesmerized, overwhelmed by the sound, by the speed. We didn't even have a grandstand seat, we were up on that bank before the Parabolica on the left. You know, we had a good view of things" - Mario Andretti
But on our last lap, we clocked 210 down the mulsanne straight.
