I can only guess that this clown was seriously connected. His arrogance and negligence caused the horrific deaths of eleven people along with injuries to others. Eleven counts of manslaughter and not a single day in jail. Then f***s off to America to continue his career.

Pilot to blame 100%, wasn’t going fast enough into the manoeuvre. But how convenient he can’t remember anything. He almost did the same at Southport airshow 2014 in a jet provost trainer this time he was over the sea. His license should have been taken away from him then.innocent people have died because of his stupidity.

He killed 11 people and got away with a suspended license. Were the judge and jury on magic mushrooms at the time they issued this verdict? Ive seen people going to prison for growing cannabis in their back yard dangerous driving without actually killing anyone. They say the law is an ass and this case illustrates that perfectly to any law student. If I was the judge I would have done the right thing and overturned the verdict and banned him from flying permanently and sent him to jail for at least 5 yrs for recklessness.

I lived in shoreham at the time, and was on my way to Portsmouth, so wasnt far behind the a27 crash site on my motorbike, lane splitting my way forward where everyone was stopped waiting by the lights when the plane hit. It was absolute carnage, and i saw stuff i cant ever unsee, including other guys on motorbikes who had made their way all the way to the lights, ahead of me...i was livid when they let the pilot off. My dad was also an ex military jet pilot, by that time a captain in civil aviation, and he and all his pilot mates just couldnt the dude got off scott free. He even applied for his pilots license back, though i dont know if he ever actually got it.

Liability is simple. The dead people didn't know they were going to die, the injured people didn't assume they would be injured, the only person with any warning was the person flying the plane. If the pilot isn't personally liable, the insurance on the pilot is, if there is no insurance, the local aviation administration is liable. The people driving cars on the non-military/airport road were not liable for the plane crash, their own demise or injury. *REALLY* simple to me.

Well done on adding the comment about it not being appropriate for that AAIB report to assign blame. That's not what it's for. If blame was ever assigned in these cases, then no pilot would ever be honest again to an investigation, and the same accidents would happen again and again.

Pilot error, lack of situational awareness. How was he found to be innocent? He should have been paying attention to his speed and his altitude. That's the only way to know if you can complete the maneuver safely. It doesn't matter what the location was. These kind of shows go on in unsuitable areas all the time. The bottom line is he screwed up and killed eleven people.

The plane crashed and cartwheeled about 15ft away from a colleague of mine. He was miraculously untouched. He witnessed several people get torn apart in front of his eyes. Body parts in the trees. And someone's flayed skin landing on his dad... Went through lots of therapy... Awarded something like £100k. He grows weed now! I can see him in the thumbnail btw.
