NEW Weber Searwood Pellet Grill First Look & Burn Off
Today I'm assembling the all-new Weber Searwood Pellet Grill and doing the burn-off. The Searwood is replacing the popular but flawed SmokeFire, so I'm excited to see if this new design fixes the issues I had with that smoker. I'll also go through my first impressions of this smoker before jumping into our full review in the next few days.

Amazing review, thank you.
Man this is a unit, I can’t wait to use it!
Thank u for this video! Because of you. This grill is as good as bought!!
Blackstones with the hood (not hard cover) are rated to cook with it closed for 10min.
From a grilling perspective I’m curious to know if it can replace a gas grill. Looking forward to the next video!
Ricer, why aren't you posting on dead broke bbq any more?
If you had to choose between this and a Traeger Ironwood, honestly which would you get?
6 hrs for ribs is too long
I’ll never by another Weber. The first pellet grill they made was trash and I’ll never trust them again. F Weber.
Understandable, this one runs better and should have been their first design! Still more of a grill over a smoker. Thanks for watching!
My smokefire has blazed threw 1000s lbs of pellets been amazing...never miss a beat still looks new and has incredible flavor. All my coworkers have traegers and seem to have issues with them.
Good stuff!
LOOKS DELICIOUS!!!❤
Bull crap my control panel melted on the second use. Tried to contact Masterbuilt about it, but nothing. Don't buy them for that melting reason. Major safety hazard.
Can hardly wait to smoke my 1st brisket on my brand new Ironwood XL Traeger.
One question please: Does this “Weber Searwood Pellet Grill” replace the Smokefire? Or to put it another way: In addition to grilling, can you smoke with the new Searwood just as well as with the Smokefire?
I will replace it eventually. It smokes just as much or maybe a tad more than the SmokeFire. Thanks for watching!
Ordered my XL yesterday. First thing, remove finger guard :)
😂 I want to know if anyone in the history of pellet smokers has ever lost a finger
If you need a marinade you already lost 😂😂😂 also the thick af meat is a no go plus make sure you get the real tortillas not mission 😂😂😂
Why is it that all of these grill manufacturers that they cannot include the front shelf in the price. This is so much needed. It's one of the first modifications that is made on a grill/smoker.
Agree!! That is the trend though.
I've been watching for a while to help me when I choose my own smoker or grill. I am planning a patio. Anyway, I enjoy the content. And yeah, I know it's not relevant to the video. It's not relevant to any video. But I am NOT feeling the new CZcams alignment of the comments, video, video suggestions. It sucks. Its messy. Its distracting. I wish they would go back. Maybe there is a way to make it go back to the original. I have to look into it.
Glad I have been a help and ya YT always has to mess with things that work!!!! Hardly ever do their updates help the creator or the viewer!!!! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!!
I hope Weber finally figured it out with this one, looking forward to the cook and review.
I think the grease and ash build up and the hopper issue are fixed!! Thanks for watching brother!!
Thanks for the review , can i ask what gloves you use ?
Just assembled my 600 this evening. That little bag with the yellow paper and extra screws are just that… extra screws (says so right on the yellow paper.) All of the screws with the blue lock-tight on them are used for the legs and shelf. You shouldn’t have had to use the other 6 unmarked screws. Great vid just the same.
The lock tight bolts didn't fit in 2 holes but the extra bolts worked. I showed you exactly where WE had to use them. We have assembled 100's of pits so this wasn't our first rodeo. So AGAIN this was the only way we could get the cart together. My guess is that most of the mounted tap nuts were burred inside and the lock tight wouldn't go through even with a heavy duty T handle Allen wrench. Glad you had better luck with yours. Thanks for watching!
@@SmokedBBQSource So strange. Glad it all worked out in the end. Looking forward to your reviews of the grill. As I type, I am on hold because Weber doesn’t like the serial number I’ve entered to try and register it. I’m staring right at it, under the hopper lid, and the website says it’s wrong.
Is it’s just me? Or does the barbecue look rubbery
Halo for the win
Seems like weber is high heat grill focused. Wonder how this thing smokes.
Working on a smoked ribs video right now so stay tuned!
Great video. I have one and also struggled w the set up of the bottom rack. The cooks have been perfect though.
Glad to hear we weren't the only ones!!! hahaha Thanks for watching!!
Salut !! Peux-tu me dire si je dois choisir entre searwood et le ironwood Xl quelle serait le meilleur pour plusieurs années??
That is a great question!! The Ironwood is better at BBQ and the Searwood is better at grilling. So you have to decide what type of cooking you will do more of? The Weber is cheaper but the build quality is slightly less than the Traeger Ironwood too. Hope this helps!! Thanks for watching!!
I see you talk to your kids the same way I talk to mine🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahahaha ya having 2 very competitive teenage boys has made me remind them that they are not as cool as they think!!! hahaha Thanks for watching!!!
I WISH MY MOM MADE THIS
Looked like you were hanging out with Cheech and Chong. Nice and Smokey💨💨
Ya Rusty, I was pleasantly surprised how much this pit smokes!!! Plan to cook on it soon!! Thanks for watching brother!!
Great review Jeff! Looks like a nice grill. Can’t wait I’ll you drop some cooks on this machine. Hopefully no more fumbles 😂. Your kids do a great job! Cheers brother 🍻
Hahahaha ya no more fumbles, George!!! hahahah Thanks for watching brother!!!
Nucks
Thanks for the video! I ordered the XL 600 and the griddle hoping for a do-all grill off Webers site now just waiting.
Awesome!! I am cooking ribs on it tomorrow. Hope to have a video early next week. Thanks for watching and enjoy that new pit!!
I would love to see you review the new Pitboss Titan.
We are trying to get one but no luck yet. Thanks for watching!
The exploding smoke is the same on all pellet grills. I wonder why they say closed on start up. Maybe it's to add some excitement since they got rid of the flame of death.
Many of the new style pits with the back venting and not a stack say you no longer need to open the lid. I never open my Traeger’s anymore during start up.
So you’re saying that it’s a piece of crap
Zero hype comment, bruh. Do better next time is what I’m saying.
Get it here 👉 weberinc.sjv.io/0ZaQAN
Junk
Hahaha
I like the fact that when you’re in shutdown if you change your mind you can power it back on again and it picks up temperature from there without having to wait for shutdown to finish
Yep, I think you got 3 minutes to decide!!!??!!! It is a nice feature for sure!! Thanks for watching!
Sorry to whinge but this is a North American exclusive, which is not good enough. Weber need to stop discriminating against those of us not using the smoker as a yank. As an Aussie, I'm going to be starting petitions, writing complaint letters, starting sub reddits, until they release the searwood down under. I'm not going to be buying a second rate smokefire as they're garbage and overpriced.
Ya, it sucks when companies do not release worldwide. Thanks for watching!!
We cant really whinge, we got the new webber Q before the yanks.
This or a Traeger Ironwood 650?
Too early for me to answer this question honestly. But if you want to make more bbq go Traeger and if you want to grill more go Weber. I will start cooking on it and have a better idea in a couple weeks. Thanks for watching!!
Looks like a pretty nice little pit, Ricer! But after putting in my time with cookers, the Wife just gave me the "Go Ahead" on a new drum smoker or the LSG 20x42 Pellet. Id really like to try a drum but I'm sure with your past experience which way I'll go!!😁 I appreciate the videos, Brother!!
Ha ha drums are cool but that LSG is a better choice, Mark!! So good move and can’t wait until you get it!!
Hey do you still have Dead Broke BBQ I didn’t realize you had this new site
Yep, I post on both channels! I am the long format video creator here. Glad you found me at both locations!!
Good look at it..thanks for sharing, grabbed a recteq flagship recently, retired my 20 year old webber
Awesome, RecTeq makes a solid pellet grill too!! Thanks for watching.
Overpriced and under featured for $$ coming from the same company that failed miserably at their first attempt to produce a pellet grill. There are dozens of pellet grills out there that are better quality, more features and much less expensive. ZGrills, Oakford, Pit Boss, Member's Mark, Oklahoma Joe..
Ya I wish it had a tad more features but one thing the chamber itself on this Weber is twice as good as the ones you mentioned. The big thing I see with the Searwood is the grilling capability. I had the Stealth Edition and I like that version of the SmokeFire. Thanks for watching!
Sure, and then you need warranty service in 3 years and all the no-name manufacturers are going new number who dis
Nah, this unit is nasty, I’m getting one.
On the higher temp it looks like it puts out a good bit of smoke , look forward to videos on future cooks on this smoker.
Yes it does and I am excited to get cooking on it!! Thanks for watching!!
HEE Larious
Ha ha glad you enjoyed the video!! Thanks for watching!
Looks nice!
So far so good!! Thanks for watching!!!
Always wanted to buy a smoker however, if I buy this one, I may need to borrow your boys to set it up, great stream as always.
Hahaha well they work cheap!! Ha ha Thanks for watching James!!!
I love the kids Miced making this show more loose, I love it!! That Weber sure looks good. Nice job... Stop Talking, go sit down🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha ya we had a lot of fun even if we struggled on that shelf!! You will see and HEAR more of them in the future. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!! Ha ha glad you enjoyed the show, Tommy!!
