Dude, I think youre wrong on this one, as frustrating as it is to see people 'pushing' to the front, thats how these merges are supposed to work. Its not 'fair' because sometimes people will get an 'advantage' but you are supposed to drive as far as you can before merging, everyone merging early and queuing up in long lines leaving an empty lane is dangerous, that why the driving code states not to do this.

Quite sure you want to milk the comment section but you are talking BS at least according to EU driving law. If the ZIP is done properly there isn't such a thing as selfishness. Simply drive to the sign of ZIP in both lanes and merge there, only there and no earlier. If you start to stack in one lane prematurely, you can affect other intersections and mainly, one column of traffic is moving slower than two parallel columns. It's a fact, well documented and the law is clear.

Besed. I hate cyclists. Lemme rattle off as many infractions I regularly see without pause... go! Riding double wide in the bike lane, not using the bike lane, riding through busy intersections with a 54 bicycle peloton, not using hand signals, running red lights. Ouch, thought I could do more. After giving it a thinking break... lets see; not having tail lights at night, riding through corner gas stations to skip the turn lane, riding them on the shoulder of the highway, riding them on roads where they can't maintain proper speed thus impeding the flow of traffic, speeding in areas with low limits, improper lane changes, lane filtering, not using an audible warning such as a bell or exclaiming "on your left" when riding on a trail coming up on people walking, failing to yield, not moving over to allow faster traffic through, following too close, riding double or even triple wide in a car lane (shoulda got that one on the first attempt... duh), riding on the wrong side of the road, using the sidewalk as a shortcut in traffic, being on their phones... theres more but I've made my point. They go completely unchecked, have the most entitlement out of anyone on the road, they don't have insurance, they don't need a license, and are a massive liability to every diver becauae no matter what the cyclist did, it's always the car's fault. Ban cycling today!

It took 15 seconds from the time the car in front of you pulled up to the yield sign to when you were through the roundabout. You complained for over a minute and took the energy to post it online for something that took a total of 15 seconds of your life.

I have had this happen hundreds of times if not thousands. Even in winter once in Cambridge. It was a snowstorm and the roads were slippery and busy. Some person tried to do exactly this and saw I was already in front of them and just the tip of their front bumper tapped the right rear edge of my bumper and caused my tiny truck to wobble. My boss at the time was a clock watcher and stickler for being exactly on time so I just kept going. I had a bronze smudge and dent on the plastic cover they had a black smudge to buff out on their Honda. People only think about the guy in the mirror.
