Build soil with Worms: Your bestest garden friend
zhlédnutí 2,9KPřed 6 lety
I started this food forest garden almost 3 years ago in very poor clay soil. Not a worm in sight. Nothing but grass. By employing various methods over this time, and using only what i have on hand, worms can be found everywhere in this garden. They are growing in numbers, silently working around the clock, improving the soil and building it for me. They ask for nothing in return except organic ...

Thanks, brother :)
Great to see you again!
Thanks champ, great to be back
Will they tolerate cold weather such as zone 4😊? MN
They will drop leaves as it becomes cooler, theyre pretty tough
We’re trying to improve our soil at the moment too! You look like you have a good spot for growing food though!
Cheers. Yes its alot better than my last garden. Good luck with yours :)
Good stuff! What is the brand and model of that wood chipper? Seems to be doing a great job
Ozito, it was like 200 bucks, there is a dearer version that's apparently quieter. I'm actually surprised how well this thing works
Cảm ơn bạn đã chia sẻ video ,chúc khu vườn của bạn ngày càng phát triển và đẹp hơn 👍.
Thankyou so much for your kind words
The tomato is looking strong and healthy. Omg I love woodchips. I spent 4 hours today sheet mulching with cardboard and woodchips. Am so glad you are back loading videos they have been a great inspiration and motivation for me. It's got me off my butt and back into it. Much love and blessings :)
Thankyou for your kind words. awesome. Yep we just have to tap away at it. You need to start videos again :)
The Kids are going to love those strawberries. If they are anything like my stepson (years ago now) not many will make it inside 🤣🤣🤣. Healthiest snack ever. 🍓🍓🍓 Much love and blessings :)
So true! Its great to get their little hands dirty too. :)

Hey bro, could imagine my surprise when after sending you a message about three years ago I think, I get a reply a few weeks ago saying you’ve relocated,I’m in the South Burnett area and growing plenty of munchies ,good to hear you’re banging on 👍
Sorry my reply was a little late😄
Nice chop n drop.
Can you do custard apples this time please?
i have a cherimoya, will that do?
That really opened it up. I love that little chainsaw on a long stick I think I need to get me one of those. With all those branches on the ground you are going to get some nice fungal activity come the wet season. I get so excited when I see mushrooms. Much love and blessings :)
Cheers, 150 bucks from bunnings. Champion little tool. Yep getting it ready through Winter, plant when it starts warming. Very Exciting :)
Good to see you back bloke. What area you located in now?
Max, how are you bud? Back on the Gold Coast. New garden to play with
Why are the being hand raised?
Because they babies
You've got a big knife 😂it reminds me of Crocodile Dundee where one tramp pulls a knife on him and Dundee says that's not a knife....that's a knife a pulls out a effing sword 😂😂
😆my knife is very blunt
Well done turn it into a food forest.
I will, thanks for watching :)
@@eatyourgarden had to go back to check if you were the same person I had subscribed to. Your beards gone but same voice. Good to see you have a new environment to experiment on. Enjoyed all the early videos. Also subscribed to Edible acres, David the good and Geoff Lawton so it's great seeing videos done in Australia
noice fruit tasting, Thanks for the seed guide & reminder on perlite I'm planting out some cabbage seeds
Thanks for watching and good luck!
Wow, I can't believe you're back. What a nice surprise. I've always loved the music you use.
I recently planted an abiu seedling. I cant wait for it to grow and produce fruit. I am really enjoying watching your videos. You were one of the channels that inspired me to start mine although I haven't uploaded for a couple of years. I must really get back into it once i sort out the mess the cyclone caused up here in Townsville and some neglect on my part as much as I hate to admit it. Much love and blessings :)
Is the Abiu growing well? Ive really missed all this, but life threw a big rock at me. But starting again from scratch is kind of exciting. I guess one baby step at a time. Good luck with yours, thanks for the kind words
@@eatyourgarden Yes its doing well so far. Life can get a bit too generous with those rocks and curve balls but a new canvas to work on is definitely exciting.
Abiu sounds really good. We moved way down south since your last season of videos. No tropical fruit anymore but plenty of gigantic cherries.
im jealous of your giant cherries, yummmm
How long before you separate the polyembryonic seedlings and also do you plant the weakest one or discard it? Thank you for the info brotha.
I inherited a lemon tree like this once, some lemon but over half useless spiky rootstock which I cut off. Thankfully the tree was nowhere near as big as yours!
i honestly dont know what to do with this thing yet, bet yeh i think ill remove the seed grown part. Thans for watching
Welcome back, thanks for the amazing video.
Asmr seeds video
Thanks for the video. Question from a greenhorn. If they fruit in spring on last year branches and you prune when dormant aren't you cutting off fruiting buds? Have you ever tried pruning after they fruit say in late summer? That way you can shape the tree and still have maybe a foot of new growth before winter and maybe even more laterals would grow? Thanks again.
Those are some vicious looking thorns. I have a kafir lime with thorns like that it has to go as it fell over in the last cyclone. Avocado tree looks great. Good score! gotta love a bargain. Much love and blessings :)
That's so cool to see half a bush lemon and half a grafted lemon on the one tree.
Hey man good to see you post again, always enjoy your content!
Cheers mate, good to be back
Great to see you back on the job mate Where would be a good location in the garden for the lemon tree and the strawberries regarding sunlight?
Hi mate, full sun would be preferable. cheers
holy moley you're back!!!
Woohoo! I got excited to see that you are back. Can't wait to see what you do with the garden and house. Much love and blessings :)
Great advice, love to be able to get tomatoes all year round, ( I live in Melbourne Australia) I feed my tomatoes with blood n bone, helps with blossom end rot too. my tomatoes 🍅 had all self sown this season, somehow they seem hardier. The trick now is to pick the tomatoes that are just starting to colour before the 🐦 birds get them !
How dangerous is usins a knife when you cn cut around the edges with scissors!
Dont know, but i do know ive never cut myself with a blunt knife. Sounds like you may have
Aloha from Hawai’i Island! I just ate my first cherimoya and knew I wanted to grow the little seeds. These videos were excellent, thank you!
Fantastic information. Hope you make some more videos soon. Been going through and watching all you videos. Would love to see how that fruit forest is going now. Thanks for sharing your done a wonderful job.
Hey mate. You should do a garden tour update. 😊😊😊
Would normal electrical tape work too
not really, maybe, but hey you never know till u try
Do you have a video of how you grew the seeds? Also what type bag to store them in?
No but i will do one. Any airtight snap lock bag. But best to sow while fresh
Ah mango, my 2nd favourite hairy thing to eat 😁
Not gonna ask what the first is
Im growing some now in Thailand, every seed i plant grows, to many plants now, growing from seeds are easy, now waiting fir fruits
Would you give me some cuttings to plant here in my country Philippines.
No, you didnt say please
Straight and to the point my friend. Very good video.👍
Man I love this guys videos, it’s like tough guy style gardening! Subscribed!
Can understand why people chew like a pig that gross noise is disgusting! Just puts me off watching the video, i just turned it off and scrolled on by.....
do you leave the seeds before germination out covered with plastic or in shade ???
just dappled light, i cover all my seeds with plastic untill they shoot
The problem with the dwarf variety is that it's not that sweet and not as tasting as the large mulberries and the fruits are much smaller also.
Yay! We have a ton of cardboard in the garage and now i can put it to good use. Thank you
