Secret Springs, Kununurra

This spring and picturesque swimming hole isn’t so secret these days, although the name seems to have stuck. It’s a 9.5km winding narrow track once you turn of Parry Creek Rd with a few water crossings, one especially long waterway and a couple of tight turns.

Why my man’s hands up like he guilty
Why does everybody want to cross rivers. Get yourselves a boat
Mitsubishi Triton very good, you have to driving faster momentum to get the power grip the tyres also must using hard grip
🎉😢😅😊😊
How's the van going, yesterday put in an order for an x-terrain 18ft couples with full electric (no gas etc) 14to16 month wait though
Nice, love our van. It’s been really good, no issues. Need to take it on a good long trip one day. We bought ours back in 2020 (ordered before Covid started) and still had about 12 months wait but we weren’t in any hurry.
Road tyres on the cruiser???
Yes, unfortunately they were. Zero grip when it comes to this type of driving
Nice one.
200 needs to learn when to “bump” it up and when to crawl . Don’t back off just because your front wheels made it up .
Very over rated Ute lacking everything that makes it 4wd, like no low range option , no limited slip diff , no locking diff , 1 wheel at front 1 wheel at back turning, that just 2wd , doubt we see a land crusier every driving on any tracks called amarok
Where is this and how do you get to this track?
Hi Donald. The track starts south of Berry Springs, at the very end of Spencer Street, Darwin River, turn right onto “Old North Australia Railway” track then pretty much follow the old rail line south. Google maps has Spencer Street, Darwin River on it.
No offense. This is nothing compare to Borneo safari recently
Would love to see a video of it!
All to avoid paying the toll?
Don’t know if any toll within 3,000km of here!
I can just feel how that clutch is burning 🔥
Thanks for the Video, Awesome rig ! Nice driving.
This is how you destroy tracks and cars. It’s not the place to learn how to drive off road. Most of the time there are 3 wheels on the ground because the speed is way too fast. Try lowering tyre pressure and slowing down, this way you have all four wheels driving with more tyre on the track.
You’re right about tyre pressure. This guy ,who we nicknamed Harry halfwhit, refused to lower his tyre pressure below 40 psi because they were new tyres and “should’ve taken him anywhere” 😅🤣😂
That part of the Frenchman’s was heading west not far from the Pasco River and we camped on the flat at the top. The track was very wet, muddy and slippery when we were last there. I had 15psi front, 18 rear and 15 psi in our 2000kg camper. Went up in 2nd low range at idle. We did the Laura - Maytown, Tele track and Frenchman’s. No damage, no eggs broken and no one was shattered. The video is a classic example on how to destroy the track by environmental vandalism and yet another track being closed to all travellers.
Yeah,, I was expecting an Anderson Silva head kick k.o....... but, still,, should NEVER feed the wild buggers. They can, and , will f$#@ you up.
Great vid , what model is this catch can and we’re can I purchase it please Thank you 🙏🏼
It’s just called a Provent 200. I bought mine from Berrima Diesel (NSW) through their online ordering system. Looks like they’re on a special atm $199 plus P&H

Thanks, you too!
👏
Not much going on.
Need to watch it on a big screen in 4k - can see them better
Last best
Time for some tyres not make for sealed roads 🤦♂️ and air down
Did the Triton have no traction control? Also the Triton guy needed to commit more. 79 did well considering it's usually outclassed by vehicles likes these
No traction control on the Triton. The owner was interested to see how much difference traction control made, but don’t think this was a fair comparison with road tyres on the 200 series.
turn off electronic?
can do you do another one but this time at full throttle?
This is full throttle I believe

Me too.
Is it critical if the catch can is not 100% level when installed?
excellent video! - were you really doing this at midnight with a headtorch!? lol
Haha, no, not at midnight but in an underground carpark where the lighting is pretty poor so yep, head torch to see when doing anything on the car!
So imagine 580 and nice AT shoes.
I just had mine done at a 4x4 workshop. When I picked it up I was concerned because the supply hose went under the radiator hose, crimping it almost flat. I had another look at your video and I can see how you have it going above the radiator hose. I think I will go outside and change it to the way you have done it. I also share Paul Barry's concern about oil build up in lower sections of hose. I suppose I will need to periodically remove the hose and flush clean.
Thanks, forgot to mention that. The instructions show the supply hose going under the radiator hose but I rerouted it to go above for same reason.
Why would you move the horn if installing catch can? Irrelevant
Catch can bracket goes where the horn was mounted. Horn then mounts to the catch can bracket.
Advantage over coil springs is,u can load it more but maybe bumpy rides, unlike the coils in the rear,so yeah pros n cons✌️😉..but good truck for overlanding,or off-road purpose very simple if its wid 1hz motor, but den others prefer power n torque 💪💪,so 1vdftv is the option to go for
I mounted mine next to the brake reservoir and the after market fuel filter on a bracket, the same side as the hose comes out of the engine without all the extra hose around the engine bay.
Nice vid.Mine was done similar by a workshop. The hoses on mine run behind the fan area, and if you look at your vid at 8.12,you will see a couple of threaded holes, middle of pic,a saddle for one hose was fitted there, then other hose cable tied to it as all well away from the fan. Then run down behind air box same as yours. Was concerned oil may log in trap of either hose, as they go down then up, but maybe enough flow so this doesnt happen? Some seem to run across rear of engine which keeps hoses up higher and they can drain either way, back to engine or can.
I ask the dealer about it they reckon not to fit one to my new gx they might not warrant the motor
Thanks for the vid, can you please send me the link for this catch can
I bought mine from Berrima Diesel in NSW. Link to the Provent 200 kit for the TLC 200 series is: www.berrimadiesel.com/provent-toyota-lc-200-ser-1vd-ftv-2008-on
Thanks for the video, where did you use 16mm - 19mm elbow?
The 16-19mm elbow wasn’t used. From memory it was for the older 200 series with a different size (bigger) bypass hose.
I’ve just checked the installation instructions. It says “Please note there is an additional 19-16mm reducing elbow in the kit. If your vehicle is older your factory hose may not clamp down to the original size, the reducing elbow can be used here instead.”
@@urbandecamp thanks mate

Just the sound of it🥰🥰
Hi. Thanks for the reply. I have a cruiser the same. It concerns me that the alternator is at the very bottom of the engine. Cheers 👍
Nice truck!
I noticed it had the original 70 dash from the early ones. What is the story?
Harvey Smith, the 70 series Landcruiser with the diesel V8 was sold in Australia from 2007 to 2009 without airbags (aka metal dash) before Toyota finally upgraded the dash and included passenger and driver’s airbag, but still no ABS!
@@urbandecamp Thanks for the info. I have a 30 year old import in the UK and like the old dash. Nice to know that dash was built until 2009
That land cruiser sounds awesome
