I've been wanting to watch this for years. The poster was everywhere in my video rental store growing up. I watched Zombie Cop and Chick Boxer before i ever saw this one. Watched it with a friend a few months ago and fell in love with it. Great stuff!

I love this movie! Saw it in 2016 and fell in love. Was expecting a horror film, but even though my expectations were shattered, it was hard not to love this one.

Ah problematic old films. Will they never end.

We had to seek out dodgy vhs dupes back in the day. Today these kids can just turn on Tubi, a free streaming service in the US, and watch dozens of "nasties" anytime they want. I swear to God I saw an uncut version of Cannibal Holocaust streaming on NBC owned Peacock the other day. The kids don't have to wok for anything. UPDATE After watching your excellent video i checked and found the at least 12 of these movies are available for free on Tubi. Kids today don't know how good they have it.

Magnificent video, got such a buzz watching this , and there is no doubt to us film nerds that bootlegs are as important in our collections as 4K Blu-ray which will probably be the last physical media , I don’t own many Blu, maybe 30 maximum, but dvd & vhs it’s well into the thousands, my collection is half bootlegs half original, I adored the dvd-r sites that appeared early 2000s that sold Spaghetti western, shaw bros kung fu, Italian horror, and other obscure treats , they were far more appealing to me than 50 quid a time arrow, vinegar syndrome , etc I did like the Code Red dvds though from the US .

Ahh the memories , the year was 1988 and my auntie purchased a video cassette with 2 films on, the Texas chainsaw massacre & Maniac, I’d wanted to see TCM forever and finally I could see it , it was about a 5th gen copy I still buzz off the memory even though I own the 4K blu , it will never beat watching that 5th gen copy at midnight when I was 12 years old !!!!

Ingagi is what the Three Stooges called their gorilla in one of their Scooby-Doo appearances. Now I have to wonder if one of the Scooby writers was an awful person.

10:38 With the use of audience stock footage, it reminded me of the final episode of Look Around You, the only difference was it was suppose to look unconvincing as part of the joke (but somehow it looked more convincing then this).

Great series of releases from Kino. Most that is.

David F. Friedman talks about this film in the -- actually good -- documentary That's Sexploitation. In that doc, he describes it as a successful piece of exploitation cinema, but didn't discuss its moral failings.

awesome little history into the bootleg side of the nasties. didnt know about the smuggling of tape inside clothing, which is dedication i admire as a horror fan. fun fact: while the extreme censorship here in germany has significantly loosend, some movies remain banned here. i imported the same release of Day of the Dead u got in the background, which is still banned for "glorification of violence". if someone checked the package and knew their shit they could have confiscated it and given me a fine. which i would have refused to pay out of principle.

SPOILER ALERT! Don't read if you plan to watch the movie. This was a direct-to-video VHS rental as I recall back in 1991. It showed promise so I rented it. I must tell you of a somewhat gross-out scene that I never got out of my head. Somewhere near the end of the movie as the evil villain is cornered by the hero and heroine plus the hero's sidekick played by Stacy Walters. Earlier in the movie, the heroine, investigating the mysterious violent death of her sister working in a futuristic high fashion nightclub owned by the enigmatic villain is searching for evidence in the villain's office. She has to hide when he comes in. He goes to the restroom to urinate, leaving the door open. The heroine, played by Candace Daly, tries to avert her eyes as the villain prepares to urinate. But like your true, red-blooded woman, she can't help but peek when he pulls out his thing to urinate. But she's shocked when she sees him holding the end of a plastic tube. At the end of the movie, our heroes and sidekick have finally cornered the villain in his office. Candace Daly tells her partner what she earlier saw. The hero tells his sidekick to pull the villain's pants down. He moves to do so and the villain yells, "Don't you dare touch me!" Glaring at them, he growls, "So you want to see the future?" He obliges by undoing his pants and pulling it and underwear down. What you see is very stomach churning. His entire private parts are missing. His groin is covered by what looks to be a dark metal version of a protective sports cup. There is a plastic tube held in a groove on the side of the metal cup, used for urination. But the villain doesn't explain the how or what behind his, uh, surgical alteration. You're left to figure it out for yourself. Since the trailer kept proclaiming the plot and the futuristic nightclub was all about illegal, high-tech future drugs and sex, sex, sex, the villain was trying to prove that he was the successful big kahuna because he used sex as the ultimate lure for his illicit high-tech, psycho-drug and sex operation. Yet the key to his success was that he kept himself from the temptation of sex which he considered the Achilles Heel of any person. By his surgical alteration, he ostensibly eliminated the physical act of sex and thus the desire for sex from his body. He could focus his complete mental powers on his nefarious plans. That's what I thought about it. But all these years later, I can't get this gruesome sight out of my memory. Maybe the best thing to do is find a copy of this movie and watch it all over again.

I gotta pick this up to add to my "Pro-Wrestler movie collection".

This is definetly the sort of film you find on "bargain bin" box sets. There are some interesting ideas in the film; like the idea of a creepy prophet type being a major media figure and a source of news for the society. Not to mention the idea of religion themed gang wars. Everything else is terrible. At least 'Hell comes to Frogtown' had Roddy Piper be a more entertaining putz.

Is it just me, or does the cult leader in the red outfit seen early on look almost exactly like Mickey Rooney in 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'...? It's probably just me. Dammit.

I read your review last year ( I think) and my interest was peaked by the inclusion of the Scottish Canadian. Unless he's working with the piece of poo Vince Mcmahon or Carpenter who let him do his own thing ( when you think you have the answers, I change the question) Roddy seems to struggle in any other movie he's been in. Also, I'm shocked to learn that there are pointless hanky panky scenes in existence.

Yet again , hard core porn from the 70s and 80s is not hard to source..my brother was always into porn and swapped all thru the years...films such as pretty peaches etc are not hard to find...but who wants to watch overly hairy birds who are now in their 80s doing it badly..at a push id watch 5 min sections of Marilyn chambers green door ,insatiable etc but beyond that I don't want to see 'uncle ham' feeling up his niece in the bath before buffing her hard in the greenhouse 😉😉😉😀(if u know u know 😂😂😂)

Tbh rather than any copy of beast in heat and such , I'd much prefer having original pre cert carry ons...my favourite tapes are boys in blue (canon and ball) , wildcats of st.trinians, national lampoons class reunion, or old hammer originals.

Go search king dick, fritz the cat, adult fairy tales for some 80s fun..and also Google adult cartoons, adult fantasy , adult comedy for some manic titles and movie ideas.😂😂😂

Back in the day we weren't watching 2nd or 3rd gen I can assure u..u knew u were in the halycon days when the tape u had flashed from colour to black and white..we often had to make do with 5 or 6th gen. Flickering , colour loss , sound drop outs on the rares like beast in heat etc. that was the reality. Up under my bed I have around 300 VHS bootlegs. If anyone interested I could tilm for my channel tho why u would want to watch ?? 😂😂😂😂

Love the ending, but it is a bit of a slog. Clint Howard is fun as usual though.

It's cool that 'showcasing old home recorded tapes' has become a genre of YT videos, but this video is soooo far up my alley it's not even funny. I have a huge thing for bootleg exploitation tapes, so far I've only managed to buy some bootleg p×rno tapes (at a still operating video store about 10 mins from my home), which are definitely sleezy but nowhere near as cool or significant as these. I don't really get jelous, but WOW, that's one hell of a great find. Awesome video, instantly subscribed 🔥 P.S. I'd wonder if the Urotsukidoji tape was ripped from the Japanese LaserDisc considering the high picture quaity and no subs. At least in the USA, lots of people would import Japanese/European NTSC LDs and make their boots from those, as they often were the highest quality and simplest (or ONLY) way to get certain films totally uncut (aside from blurred genitals in the case of Japanese LDs).

I was like, "Hey! That cook is Luca Brasi!", so I had to look it up to make sure and yup. It was him. Then I saw that Hamilton Camp was in this as well as Loren Lester and Richard Moll. That means this had Greedy Smurf (and Harmony, too, I guess) as well as two 'Batman the Animated Series' regulars Robin and Two-Face! God, I am such a voice nerd.

This movie could of been awesome. It starts off cool. But to many boring parts. The best sov horror movie is video violence from 1987.

I can't imagine anything darker than Jayne's noncareer. Her beauty still is shining through that sad reality. Forced to earn money as a road company MM, she was hoping for a comeback, which she got in the end.

Sad situation all round. I've restored a film of hers called Too Hot to Handle (1960) which has never had a release resembling its intended form.

I bought this and have yet to check it out. Might finally be time to do so.

WOW! Youve taken me back to many different, exciting times in my life. I remember buying Jess Franco's "Barbed Waire Dolls" from a bloke in a market in Glasgow ( I'm from there) after sending him a letter through an ad in one of the horror fanzies of the time in the late 80's. Then moving to London and entering the magical place that was Camden Film Fair. In the 90's it was THE place to get all sorts of f**ked up stuff, XXX, horror, Japanese Pinku films, Hong Kong Cat 3 etc. I've still got my bootleg VHS of Fulci's "Nightmare City" and a few other ones lying around. That golden period from the video recordings act to DVD was a film adventurers heaven, great video man, cheers!
