When we came here, while keeping our private culture, we embraced the USA, became Americans and, while we celebrated our heritage, we RECOGNIZED THAT OUR LOYALTIES WERE NOW AMERICAN,NOT GERMAN. We did NOT REMAIN LOYAL TO A PAST WE ESCAPED. In fact, in two world wars the medals and honors our family EARNED came in the defense of the USA, not some disloyal obsession to the past. We came here to BE AMERICANS, NOT SUCK THIS NATION DRY WHILE BEING “LOYAL” TO THE PAST. That is how we became successful in our NEW NATION, bY EMBRACING IT!

I've known of my German ancestry since I was very young. I knew my great grandfather, who came to America with his parents and other family members in the late 1800s, to my early teens and likewise am with him picturing the four generations. My family always thought they came from Baden-Baden, but that was not the case having been there and there was no trace of that family in over 200 years. By pure luck a few years later, I discovered the family was from Rodenbach, and any relatives previously in the surrounding area, there was no trace of them after 1902.

So the consintration camp and boycotes and book burnering started in america. The controlling of and moulding of the people today, the takeing of freedom and property, that is happening to this day.

I read a 1700s German immigrant’s diary that was published. He came to America and returned to Germany 3 years later to report the atrocities implemented on German and Irish immigrants. Some were drugged, put on ships and sold to Americans. My grandparents had the receipts were their grandparents (German /Irish) were sold to a prominent family in the USA

We say that same 'yes' in Finnish. In Finnish it's "juu" and you can pronounce it exactly as they pronounce it here (there are many ways to pronounce it) - and I used to do it a lot as a kid (pronounce it like that)

I live in stockholm, I have seen all of the abow, (not the "fjällräv" or brun/grizzly björn) 2 of my spiritanimals are the Wolf (varg), and Lynx (lodjur), I have met both in the "wild", very special moments, I am grateful that I have been lucky enough to come across these magnificent animals. "Gråsäl, utter and bäver" I saw up close during a scubadive.. "Vildsvin and älg I have come across daily, they often come all the way up on the wooden deck/front porch, the wildhog love to go thru the garbage for food, you have to chain the garbage can to a tree, otherwise they knocked it over and there was garbage scattered all over the garden.. I love the house where I live, me and my dog, located in the middle of the forrest, yet only 35 min to stockholm city.. ( I prefer to avoid going to the city, there are too many people.. sooo much people ,.. 🤯😬😠🙈🙉🙊 everywhere,.. puuuuh... everywhere

My name is Hessian supposedly so there could have been a deserted German mercenary in my family tree dating from the period of the American revolution. But in general many Germans emigrated to the United States to escape Prussian militarism since Prussia and then the German Empire had conscription at a time when the United States typically had no military draft at least between the end of the civil war and the First World War.
