Love the Flow series but they are around 1 mm wider than a Jazz III, and these 2mm seem to affect my ability to consistently get pinch harmonics when I want them. I switched to the Ibanez JTC because they are still in the Jazz III range but 26.5 mm in length, 2.5 mm thick, and also glide nicely over the strings

I bought some FLOWs recently because for many years, I used to file and sand the original Tortex to have the same point as the Jazz pick. Now I don't have to do that anymore. Still like to buff the edges on my jeans to make them smoother and quieter. Thanks. You should try out the GHS/Planet Waves Black Ice pick.

I switched over to Tortex Flow 1.5s about a year ago. I love them . I do go through a lot more picks now though, cause the sharper tip wears down quickly but I'm good w that. I'll take the speed and precision any day!

I used Jazz 3 picks for years but I never really felt 100% with them. Recently got the Flow 1.14 and really been enjoying it. I'm feeling better about my chugs again. Also it's a pick I can use with both electric and acoustic so better for consistency.

Such a wonderful video! I actually just recently had my first experience with Richlite by making a fingerboard with it. It wasn't easy sawing the thin slots by hand with a Japanese saw, but everything else, the "normal" sawing, sanding and the look of the material, I just love.

I got the elastomer pick in a jazz 3 XL shape and I've been enjoying them so far. I've been trying to find a pick with the John Petrucci Jazz 3 XL shape (a bit smaller than the regulars), with the smoothness and jazzy tone of the jazztone 205s and I think these picks fill the bill perfectly.

Your gonna have to “pick” those all up

a lot of the new stealth planes being trialed in the US are actually rumored to be made from uhmwpe. they dont call it that, they call it "thermoplastic", but its pretty obvious to me thats what theyre referring to in industry. the f22 and f35 were made from "thermoset" plastics, which includes a lot of the epoxy and carbon fiber techniques that boeing and lockeed martin has gotten pretty good at. the main issue with thermosets in the context of avieation development is the R&D that has to go into perfecting the kilns/curing pressure vessels.... that is unless youre as crazy as boeing and invent hot spooling prepreg like on the 787. didnt work out that well for that one submarine. anyways the benifit of uhmwpe fuselage components is simply the fact that you are not constantly fighting the trade off of making the parts as large as possible to fit in the same kiln. also cool to think about is the fact that someone in the field could basically do good enough pressure/water tight structural repair in the field with a roll of plastic and a soldering iron/hot pointy thing. try doing that with thermosets... right now the typical field repair for thermoset defects is literally ducktape/100mph tape. i am not 100% sure on if industry is going towards the balistic weaves (~180g/cm?) or if theyre just working with multiply or monolithic. anyways, i think the next 50 years of aviation is going to basically revolve around uhmwpe. we should probably start making it in the US instead of shipping it all over from china lol. the gell forming process was perfected over here so.... globalism. good video

I used to use Dunlops until my brother gave me one of these Davas and I haven’t been able to use a single other pick ever. Something about these for metal that’s just it. Will buy these until I can’t anymore!
