By the way what software and hardware do you use for recording your videos?
A good habit to do is to sell all those random artifacts you get from RNG events. Like the one you got at 10:30. Most of them are useless, provide terrible stats and need gold for maintenance. I suggest only keeping artifacts of masterwork rarity and above - prioritize the ones which provide stat boosts (primarily stewardship), health boosts, domain tax boosts, domain and vassal limits, vassal tax and levy contribution modifiers and/or development modifiers. Rest all are meant to be sold. You can instantly get 40 gold from destroying ordinary artifacts and 80 gold from the masterwork green artifacts. These are good sources of income, especially when you find yourself in debt. Make sure your spymaster loves you and is competent enough to avoid such painful and costly deaths. From my experience, a 23+ intrigue sypmaster should suffice. The tragic death should highlight the importance of the bodyguard and food taster court positions. For 0.1 gold per month each, these characters can one day save your life. As for the specific death event that caused the death of your character, I think if you had the temperate trait, you may have survived. Temperate is one of the BEST traits in the entire game. +2 stewardship, a health boost and the piety gain from it being a virtue, as well as it sealing the possibility of you becoming a drunkard later in life. A truly brilliant trait IMO, on the same tier as Diligent. Nevertheless, your character looks pretty awesome. Holy Warrior is an absolutely essential commander trait in any Hellenic playthrough. Some advice for your heirs: 1. Start their education when they're 3 years old - its the age they develop the rowdy/pensive/curious/bossy/charming traits, which indicates the direction they'll be best at. 2. Teach them YOURSELF. This ensures you will be in direct control of their future personality traits. Very helpful. Also, the "influence ward personality" trait is a very helpful interaction. For your current character, pass on diligent and patient. Those traits are very good. 3. Switch to a learning focus and get the Pedagogy perk. This improves the likelihood of your wards to get better education traits. Later, you can switch to Diplomacy focus and get the "Groomed to rule" perk, adding 1-3 stat points to ALL your children (very cool perk). 4. Hire a court tutor with good or preferably excellent aptitude. This also improves the likelihood of your children obtaining a better education outcome. 5. Once you save enough gold, send your player heir to the University of Siena. Make sure you hold the county yourself - if someone else holds it, they will become the guardian of your child and that is NOT good! (unless their stats are Alfred the Great tier). (This only applies if you have built the university already, but that itself will take a lot of time. Prioritize building the Argentiara Silver mine in Cagliari, first and foremost.) 6. Set the focus of your unwanted heirs to martial. The outcome doesn't really matter since they won't be inheriting anyways. Try to make them get the brave, zealous and humble personality traits (Priority: Zealous > humble > brave). These three traits guarantee that they will accept your demand to join the holy order. The only downside to this is the legitimacy cost - but that's fine, better to lose legitimacy than see your hard-fought realm fragment away. Fire that incompetent steward of yours and get someone competent. A good steward is worth his weight in gold. Marry off your unmarried female courtiers to get someone with 20+ stewardship ideally, 16+ stewardship being the bare minimum. Your councillors must be capable and reliable, each boasting at the very least a stat of 16+ in their respective domains. Build hospices wherever you can, whenever you can. Tax + plague resistance will matter a lot in the long run. Every caste, city and temple holding must have one hospice. Only manor houses take precedence over hospices in the building priority order.
This will help a load in the future, thank you for that. I needed this because i haven't really played a thorough run through before so all these tips will help me not only survive but also have a decent character while doing so.
@@startingpointracingYou are most certainly welcome. Look out for North Africa. The Aghlabids will generally weaken over time. Focus on conquering the duchy of Tunis. Carthage is a Hellenic holy site. Attack them when a toddler, teen or an incompetent is ruling - many powerful realms are most vulnerable during such periods. Of course, the greatest prize is the Urbs Aeterna itself. Rome moggs every county in the game. I recommend building temples in the two empty baronies of Palo and Paterno, since it does not eat into your domain limit (castles count), while it also does not lead to someone else taking away the major part of profit earned (city mayors). Also with the right cultural tradition (Religious Patronage), you can get INSANE amounts of renown overnight. You should reform the Roman culture. Forego one of the less important traditions in exchange for Religious Patronage.
As for marriages, focus on alliance power first, genes second. I think you can potentially ally with the Rurikids or Jarl Dyre if their opinion of yours good enough and you reach kingdom tier within time. The families of the above two often have good genetic inheritable traits (since Rurik is quick and his wife is intelligent while Dyre is a genius) + their armies are usually fairly strong in 867.
Nice to see a true Hellenic Roman campaign. I suggest taking Cagliari, forming the duchy of Sardinia and later, the corresponding Kingdom title. Revoke the barony of Iglesias and save up gold to build the juicy silver mine. Becoming King of Sardinia will allow you to create the much-needed Hellenic holy order that will help you in your wars against basically everyone around you. Also, creating a holy order has many perks, one among them being the insane amount of gold they give you for acquiring a barony, the second being that you can remove unwanted heirs from the line of succession by asking them to join the holy order. If you find yourself as the target of a crusade, just swear fealty to the Byzantine Emperor. He will accept even with low vassal contributions, which can allow you to negotiate religious protection as well as council rights without much economic or military concessions. Try to get rid of Loius the Younger if possible. The Duke of Spoleto is an ambitious man and absolutely despises him. He will launch an independence war, or even better, a dissolution war may break out by his other vassals. Take that opportunity to teach the King/Queen of Italy a lesson. I highly suggest going after Tuscany. The county of Siena has a university building that can be built WITHOUT having 30 development - which is INSANE and can basically guarantee your heirs a premium education. Make sure to raid Spoleto thoroughly while they are busy battling it out. I suggest following the Anconian trail while you go raiding, since Romans can't raid overseas. The Anconian trail is basically the path along the rightmost border of the Italian subcontinent, laden with prosperous cities with much loot. Ancona, Ferrara, Spoleto, Urbino, Bologna and Ravenna are prime targets for raiding, each giving 20+ gold. It's a shame you can't raid Venice though. 100 gold straight up for the capital. The overarching goal for the first 100-150 years should be conquering Italia and dismantling the Papacy to ensure Hellenic survival and avoid those pesky Crusades.
I’m gonna try and do most of the things you’ve said and I appreciate the help. Some things have already been done in the new episode but when I record for the third I will make sure to try and do most of them.
no it was 166 i just do better then i i tryed and it said 166 bro
Lv19 sucks lol
can the nuke ability one shot a wave 600 fortified b.a.d?
No.
What is a paragon?
A paragon is a tier 6 tower basically. It uses all three tier 5’s and is very strong
@@startingpointracing ahhh alright
Just noticed that it isn't normal to have 20+ million xp on tack shooter, mortar and buccaneer...
FIRST
nice vid
If you ever want to try them, here are my maps, from oldest to most recent, the first one was more of an attempt than anything else back when the editor was new, the latest was validated last week. ZMYAWOD, Forbidden Forest ZMYCHHR, Lush Oasis ZMYCLOR, Anomaly ZFKBLAW, Harvest Season ZFKRFKV, Frozen Cave Island
I’ll give them a go
Background music is a bit loud but don't remove it
Okkk
Played bloons for the first time in months yesterday because of your vids
That’s great to hear, I’m glad my videos got u to play again
Nice job! See you at 400
Yeah can’t wait
First
I got to start playing BTD6 again XD haven't touched it in months
I was the same but now I can’t stop playing it
It has been really fun lately. I play for two years... I've been focusing a lot on paragons and medium difficulty ultra late game this week, tons of fun.
Would be easy with geraldo cape item making cheap super monkeys, then discount villages for cheap sun avatars. I tried this with only teir 2 (no hero) and dioed at 95 as well lol. 95 too powerful
Yeah 95 very hard with no tier 4 or 5
Wait, I don't get why you gave up on 95, you had over 50k
95 is very hard to beat with only tier 3 and I don’t think putting more down would make much of a difference
Omg
Great video! A couple things that I might recommend to improve your content would be adding background music and maybe increasing the volume of your mic! But besides all that great video and you got a new subscriber.
Thanks for the advice and thanks for subscribing
Your doing good! Don’t give up! Also this was very enjoyable
Thank you
Hi

Well thank you very much
Good video

yay dart monkey and i see that you have done only one :)
Just give it a while that build feels like a first win
Glad to know the community ain't dead
It’s a good game
Advice on the reaper (red oneshot enemy): It's basically meant to be unbeatable. Reaching 30 minutes and having it spawn in essentially signifies that you've beaten the level. Now, that doesn't mean that the reaper is invincible, and it can be killed, but I don't think you've unlocked the required items to do so. Merely maxing out normal items and becoming really strong will *never* be enough to kill the reaper. Specialized strategies are required, and can be found on the wiki if you'd like to spoil yourself.
My goal is to somehow beat it by pure luck, not gonna end well but we’ll see
Cranky’s advice Get gud
I’m the best at every game
really nice video :) (edit) for the dart monkey are you gonna do two crossbow masters with the ml
Thank you. And probably not, just one as I’ve done with all of them, don’t want to give them an advantage

Hey, it's me again. Yeaah, I was going to point out you weren't putting workers on the other regions XD Two people died from the lightning strike. You forgot to add craftsmen to the mine at the right of your city, so it's not working. And you need more craftsmen for your maintenance building, which helps with construction and keeping all buildings on good shape. You took them out several episodes ago, and I'm sure it's either working at low efficiency, or not working at all. When you changed the farm production, your water demand went up because herb consume 12 units of water, while vegetsbles consume 40. As your population grows, so does their demand for products. You have a lot of workers
It’s always good when you comment, it helps me a lot
HELLO
Hi
Ignore Augusto, you played very well, next time use Gennaro and make a projectile build and he will carry you!
You deserve 10k likes and subs
Haha thank you, it’ll be a dream come true if that ever happens
No, you’re not good at all 😂
Your voice is great for narrating this game! You sound like you do biddings for your master😂
I don’t know whether I should be happy about this or not

Cool vid. Always interesting seeing a new player record their first playthrough of this game and posting it. That's actually extremely rare on this website, and the reason for that is if you stick with this game long term, you'll one day look back on this and realize just how absolutely silly all your plans and strategies were. You're worrying about a ton of things you don't need to worry about and you're not worrying about a ton of things that you really need to worry about. It's not your fault by any means, though. This game is so hard to get into and everyone makes all the same silly mistakes when they start out. There are tons of memes about it, lol. You're actually doing really well for the time you've played. But the only way to learn is to keep playing, and to try and figure out one or two new things each time. I've got 2000 hours and I'm still learning stuff. Here's some extremely basic advice in case you're interested in that: 1) Ignore most online advice for now until you understand the basics. I remember being a noob. The online advice was too complicated or assumed that I had a bunch of knowledge I didn't have. Instead, come up with specific questions you want to know the answers to and look up the answers to only those questions and nothing else. Then get back to fumbling around in-game. Learn with baby steps. 2) Try and avoid as much complexity as possible early on. Like, flat out, I recommend you ignore both air and navy until you understand the most basic ground combat mechanics, as well as the supply system. It's too daunting trying to learn everything at once and you can absolutely win without air and navy. And here are a few super easy to grasp tips: 1) On each of your units you will see a green bar and an orange bar. They are extremely important. The green bar is organization. That's like morale. If a unit has no morale, it can't fight, even if it's fully equipped. A unit with no org will retreat immediately if attacked and it loses org in combat or when training. Keep a unit out of combat doing nothing to recover it. The orange bar is strength. That represents how equipped your unit is. Is it short on manpower or guns? Then the bar will be lower. If it's only at 10% for example, your unit only gets 10% of its stats. So prioritize getting fully equipped units before training more. In this vid, all of your units have very low strength as you are missing tons of guns. 2) When training units, shift + click the training button. That trains the units up to the point where they are fully trained and then automatically stops training. When you just click it normally without shift, it trains all your units whether they are fully trained or not, which costs you a ton of guns from attrition. 3) Press f4. That is the supply map. You will be referring to it a lot in the future so its best to get used to the hotkey now. That's probably the most important map mode. That and f1, the default. There are a billion more tips I could give, but those three were relevant specifically to this video. See ya around.
I appreciate the tips
4.5k hours here. I recommend historical Hungary as a new player. You don't have to worry about navy and are relatively protected in the middle of Europe. You get to do a little expansion and help the Axis on the eastern front
I will be playing more, so I’ll definitely give Hungary a go
Heyo and welcome to HOI4!!! Happy to see new players on this game, I've been playing since 2018 so Imma leave a list of things I suggest to do for a better start as Finland. Finland recently go an update to their focus tree this past fall so for some it is relatviely a new nation to play. 1. Finland goes to war in late 1939 against the Soviets. Keep this in mind as you can either fight them or give a little territory in the east and fight them later. 2. ALWAYS use your tech for technology/industry first. That way you can build or research faster. 3. Finland never had a strong airforce/navy. Not saying you can't do it but it will be very hard to do well if you focus on one. a. Ports and shipyards are diffrent. Ports allow supplies to come in by sea. Shipyards are built specifcally to build ships. Explains why you have one shipyard but 3+ ports. 4. Supply= how fast equipment and troops gets to a location. The higher the supply the more equipped your troops are and at a faster rate. 5. Focus Tree- start on industry and technology. There are filters to show which does what. Then do political and figure out where you need to be when war breaks out. 6. There are some very good guides on how to play HOI4 and Finland itself. I highly suggest you watch one to have an understaning on what to do, or what not to do. Anyway, you don't need to take my advice and play as you like. This game is very much trial and error and there is a good community that will help you through CZcams videos, etc. Goodluck and have fun!!!
I appreciate it and will most definitely try and follow some points to at least be ok at the game
4th tier bottom path can hit purples
Really, that’s good to know
