this is to address Mr. Nice who commented below - It was the greatest thing in the world to live during the 80’s. I was born in 1970, so I was 15 in 1985, I saw it all, all the Motley Crue’s, Ratts and Dokkens of this world! It was amazing but my biggest regret is that I somehow thought it would always be that way. I would have embraced that time even more than I already did, had I known that. I yearn for those days every single day. What did we do? We went everywhere! In state, out of state, the most craziest of places. The rock club L’Amour in Brooklyn was the greatest rock club you could ever walk into in your entire life. A gigantic warehouse turned into a rock club, with a big floor, a “back area” with table and chairs, bar, bleachers like as if you were in a gym, killer tunes over the loudspeakers, metalheads and rockers everywhere, and the coolest bands onstage. No offense to Jay-Z fans, but the radio was much more playing Rock You Like A Hurricane songs back then, Panama, Photograph, etc…. We wore crazy outfits, had crazy hair, a lot of black outfits, especially the dudes, lots of breakin’ curfew just to be with friends or your special someone, tons of eatin’ fast food, meeting up at arcades, just endlessly up and down driving “the strip” (whatever main road was nearest to your neighborhood, whether it be 5 min away or half-hour) blasting glam metal or heavy duty metal everywhere you went. Metal clubs everywhere. Hanging out at the diner after clubs. Concerts were unbelievable because drinking was way more rampant in terms of just being able to just blatantly do it. Partying all the time, and listening to the coolest guitar players, the like of which you may not ever hear again. I can go on and on, but I hope this answers your question. I freakin’ love how passionate you seem about how you wish you were there. It truly makes me want to say I WISH YOU WERE THERE WITH US, ‘cause you sound awesome.
