Nick's Big Carp at Geist

Nick was able to hook a nice carp in shallow water at Geist. It fought good for a few minutes before landing it in the boat. The video has been edited to save on upload time. We took some pictures and set it free.

This is the start of Base Men 50 at Southwestway in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dino Mountain Bike Race Series puts on this race and 5 others around the state of Indiana. Dino was one of the few to hold races during the 2020 season. It was also their 30th year of doing mountain bike racing. It was good to see things continue in 2021. Southwestway has a nice trail system. Racers get to climb to the t...

You ever fish monroe?
I have not. Saw a video posted of a nice catch there. We may give it a try after our trip to Minnesota in July.
Looks Good!
dang that kid had a huge growth spurt. Sorry just been checking out ur channel.
He has grown up a lot. That was video is three years old. Nick will start his Freshman year in high school. Time is flying with that kid.
@@eightiespike I definitely understand. I have a 20 year old kid who is about to be 21 in September. So proud but so sad to see time fly by. I don't know about you but I raised really good kids and I really don't want them to leave🤣🤣🤣🤣
nice catch wifey!
She was so proud of herself with that one.
@@eightiespike oh that's so sweet!
north woods of where? looks gorgeous.

@@eightiespike ah. I was almost thinking you meant the UP....upper peninsula of Michigan.

What is you cooking?
battered fried fish, freshwater fish. Sounds like they said walleye. Looks like you have a European name so I don't know if you have walleye fish where you live. I personally don't like them, but I'm not big on fish. If you like fish, you'd probably like it bc they definitely cooked it well from the looks of it. In my experience men who fish from the midwest can cook that fish VERY WELL. As well as anything else they catch or hunt like deer, rabbit or wild turkeys.
Nobody can make venison like a hunter, or a hunter's wife. I don't much like venison either. But if it's made a certain way I'll eat it. The summer sausage....so good. It's a lean, protein packed meat. Sometimes you have to add fat while cooking bc it's so lean. Sorry for the essay. I miss rural life so much.
Great job nick amazing fisher😉
Great dad
What was the price back then ?
I don't even remember. A good 10k less than the same kind of boat today I imagine. This boat would hold up to anything made today I'm sure. It looks pretty solid sitting there. Unfortunately, I never did buy a new one. Still fishing out of the same boat. It will be 20 yrs. old next year. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks for the reply.... Reason I ask is I have the identical 2008 boat bought used like new condition ( 80 hrs ) from two school teachers
@@larrymeloni9725 You are a lucky man. I really liked that one.
Yea Nick! Nice one! Looks like fun!
December 23 is my birthday to
I am much better now I can drop into that bowl and I push the way I'm supposed to if you wanna see more skating videos go to my channel
Looking good Nick!
Age and size? Thanks
This is the kid 125cc and I was turning 13 I believe
Looks like fun, I think he likes it!
I could hear you just fine.
It was a very hot day, and you had a very good race!!
Your motor is trimmed too high. That's why your bow is so high and it is porpoising. Move the bar at the bottom of your mount to a lower setting till it stops porpoising at high speed.
He had no one in the front and was riding his own wake as he turned. Thanks for the tip.
Nice job getting that Fatty around that course Nick!! Thanks for sharing this with us Dave :-)
Very Good Nick!!
hey guys its me nick the racer in my dads video like and subscribe :D
Good Job, Nick!
Would like to see more, good job!
Way to pass him Nick. Good Job!
had a guy do me this way one time, and he came back the same way. the second time I was ready with three 1oz sinkers tied on another pole and some how his sidewall got a huge dent in it.
great video! love the lund!
we have a ssv 16 here in poplar hill first nation it blue but it belongs to the new school here kids well be going to camp this summer.
you should make videos of this ssv or fishing as well because I like lund boats.
I forgot is that a 2004 lund ssv or 5.
do you guys have a short shaft ssv 16 or 14.
Jeremy moose , 16 ssv long shafts 2005 model.
is that red or dark red.
Jeremy moose, The boat is red.
make more videos of ssv 16 but maybe get a short shaft.
That first start was pro-elite. I was in there but I didn't do well that race. A month in a tent at FT Bragg during summer exercises kills your training readiness : /
Yay Nick! You did it :-)
Very Good! Beautiful day for a great finish! The younger guys should beware, you are inching up on them :-)
Yeah, go right in front of you in your casting lane... Right over the school of fish you marked... Then ask you,"You catching anything".... Reply: "Well I was, until you showed up and cut right in from of me... And spooked all the fish, you Idiot"...lol
42 people are angry novices.
They just need a few more people in the back
Id have cast a nice treble hook at the driver, that is considered an accident also. It isn't so bad that it is an accident, it is the simple fact that idiots that have never boated or read the rules for certain lakes drive their boats like morons and are just clueless. They will drive right next to you when fishing or anchored. I bet if their kid was swimming and you drove that close to their boat they would have an issue.
Good Job, looks like fun, glad you did so well!
Yeah Becca, very good Dave!
Very Good!
Sum people dont get water he had plenty of room I would b mad to
wow, lame.
Just for comparision I have a 16' Lund Adventure SS that is considerable heavier than this boat with a 40 hp Yamaha 2 Stroke on it that will go 32mph with two 200 lb guys on board. I used to run a 50hp Johnson that weighed almost a hundred pounds more than the Yamaha and burned twice the gas. It did have more low end torque and would push the boat at 36mph. It didn't troll anywhere near as slow or quiet as the Yamaha and made my boat stern heavy so evertime you hit a wave it porpoise like mad!
No need to watch then huh.
this video was painful to watch people will post anything
