I expected to hear the usual showroom salesman rig a ma roll, but found some really good guitar playing. Excellent guitar playing. The buzz. Everyone conceals the buzz in their video presentations of this guitar. In this presentation you can hear the amp buzz clearly and it is always present unless you are actually playing. Potential purchasers need to know about the mild buzzing sound produced by this guitar that is noticeable when the guitar is plugged in but you are not playing. It is a familiar sound to guitar players but to someone getting a new guitar and amp, it might be surprising to hear the background buzzing coming from the amplifier when you plug this guitar in. As if something is grounding out somewhere ... But no. This is the was a P90 guitar is designed to sound. This buzzing background sound increases when an overdrive or distortion pedal is used. This can add up to loud buzzing. This loud buzzing can be removed from the sound and the guitar can be silenced of the buzzing by using a 'noise gate' pedal available from online music sources. A noise gate would be needed when playing higher gain music. The noise gate is adjusted to remove the buzzing from the sound. The noise gate would not be necessary in some situations where the choice of amplifiers and settings is found to produce a suitably buzz free playing experience. While playing even loud buzzing cannot be easily heard. But the instant you stop playing your audience is greeted with distinct buzzing, unless you quickly cut the volume at the guitar. That aspect is not mentioned in most reviews and is muted quickly after each playing passage. So, beware that this guitar will buzz. Loudly if boosted with overdrive pedals, etc. Those that want to play at home with the guitar will sometimes be playing at lower volumes where the buzzing might not be found to be a problem. Most players that purchase this guitar already are aware that bP90 guitars are known to buzz. But some prospective buyers are not aware of this characteristic. As an alternative, guitars are available with another type of pickups called 'humbucking pickups' humbucking pickups buck or remove the buzzing from the sound. Humbucking aftermarket P90 pickups are available to replace the buzzing P90s if necessary or desired. And other P90 sets sometimes are designed to be noise cancelling in the middle selector switch position. But these are not noise cancelling at all. The quality of the sound from a P90 pickup is thought by many to be best appreciated without modification or noise cancelling. That is why this guitar buzzes. It is supposed to sound this way because of its historic design. This video shows this aspect of buzzing and how this skilled player navigates with his playing thru this very well and you barely notice the buzzing. You get the sparkly clear sound of the P90 pickup and with skillful playing you can avoid the characteristic buzzing and weave it into the overall sound in a non-harsh way, like is done very effectively by the player in this video.

I honestly think Fender has produced so many different variations, models, this model that model you really can’t keep with the 1:35 new stuff. They’ve flooded the market. When I was a kid and dreaming of Fender guitars you only had so many in their catalogue to choose from, the same with the guitar and bass amps. Way too much anymore. Today Fender doesn’t even catch my eye anymore.

These are fabulous guitars- 24 inches scale neck is noticeably different than the ‘regular’ Fender 25.5 The P90 neck pickup with the tone rolled down a bit is perfect for fingerstyle jazz Tuning is stable Body is tiny so it is effortless to play

Ive got both, theyre just different instruments and both make incredible sounds. If i had to choose between the two,..... We're going to have some issues on that one. I think the 335 has fuller more rounded sound, but i also love the attack of the les paul and its directness in delivering the note. Its like comparing a shotgun to a rifle. Both will get the job done but depending on the intent, one will get it done exactly the way you want it. Buy both and youll know exactly what i mean. Its the wife and the mistress conundrum. 😂

That looks very much like my 1987 E4 serial number strat. I don't believe fender made strats in the USA until 1987 post the Dan Smith era. Most of the guitars were made in Japan. The E4 serial numbers were left over from 1984 but If you look at the strats back then they only have one tone knob and the Jack input is straight into the guitar. If you do a little digging you'll see what I mean. I've owned my 1987 strat for about 17 years and it's awesome.
