I had a motorcycle accident on April 4th 2024. I got road rash on my right forearm from not wearing my motorcycle jacket and developed staph infection which eventually turned into sepsis which had paralyzed me 4 to 6 weeks and drove me out of my mind with the antibiotics. I thought I was kidnapped and they had to tie me down because I kept trying to escape thinking I was kidnapped. The dreams and nightmares no one would ever stand but they were off the charts. I could barely even turn over in bed to get myself wiped because I could not get out of bed to go to the bathroom. Three and a half months later I am in rehab trying to recover. I have no energy and can barely stand up to get to my wheelchair next to my bed. I need someone next to my bed constantly. Because I am in a facility for rehabilitation I cannot get my immunotherapy visits to combat my liver cancer which is killing me. I went to the hospital a year and a half ago with Fourth stage liver cancer and was given 2 months to live immunotherapy has saved me but now I have missed four treatments and I am losing muscle mass again which means my cancer is still active. Cancel lives off muscle mass. If I just wore my motorcycle jacket none of this would have happened. Those of us who are in similar positions remember that right now you are weaker than everybody else but when you beat this disease you will become stronger than everybody else. For you have climbed the mountain they have never been on. For you will have grown in an area that others don't even know exist. I do not look behind me because I am going forward. In the words of Marcus Aurelius who was the last of the five Great Kings of Rome. What stands in the way becomes the way. FIGHT ON!
So scary, who knew this was a thing? Oh we saved your life but you will have PTSD and not be the same after but who cares long as the bill was paid. Eek

I was on ventilator for 4 months my advise to icu staff. I had great nurses they still greeted me like I was not on a drug induced coma they write their names in the board edited introduced who th y were and they were going to take care of me. It did make a difference. Also, if patient has nausea get it under control before physical therapy. When you are so sick last thing I felt like was exercise.
Fantastic review!! Very clear and well organised presentation!
amazing, thank you

I feel compelled to share my personal experience with discrimination and harassment at the hands of Dr. Clifford himself. As someone belonging to a minority group and having a disability, I have faced discriminatory treatment and felt marginalized in his presence. It is disheartening to see Emory University allow such behavior to go unchecked, effectively creating a monster in Dr. Clifford who continues to discriminate against people of color and those with disabilities. This kind of behavior should not be tolerated or overlooked, as it undermines the inclusive and supportive environment that an institution like Emory should strive to cultivate. I hope that by sharing my experience, awareness can be raised, and necessary steps can be taken to ensure a fair and just environment for everyone at Emory University.
I was in icu after an operation I had bad post op delirium I was hallucinating I thought all of the Dr and nurse were killing me x
