You should go back to school. Henry the forth was not a Plantagenet king, he was Lancastrian. He was the one who brought the Lancastrians into power. Then his son kicked the French and won the French crown, but he died young, leaving his infant son to be crowned. Who apparently took after his French Grandfather mentally. Thus the war of the Roses began. I'm a Yank, (American) and even I know this. But apparently you forgot to read that part of the British History.

Richard II was in Ireland with his army when Bolingbroke returned from France. And with many of the Barons joining Bolingbroke they headed West to Meet Richard when he returned. There was no fighting, Richard knew he didn't have the army to face his cousin. He was arrested and taking to London and placed under guard in the Tower. He was then tried and found guilty and forced to give up the crown. His cousin then had him moved to another castle in the North. Where Richard died, either smothered or starved to death, no one knows.

You forgot to mention that Mary II was Anne's sister and that the only reason James was replaced was because his second wife gave birth to a son who was raised Catholic, and England didn't want another Catholic on the throne so Parliament invited James's daughter and her husband to invade and take the throne away from James and his son. Its also the reason why William III and Mary II were the only joint monarchs in England's history.

If The Pope would have realized the Henry's reason to divorce Katherine was legitimate (Henry was quite the biblical scholar and used the bible to prove it via Leviticus that "A brother should never marry his brother's widow or disaster shall befall him." Katherine was his elder brother's wife first.) Protestantism probably wouldn't be as large as it is today. Though the pope at the time was corrupt and was probably given bribes by the Hapsburg inbred Holy Roman Emperor to keep the marriage legitimate (as he was Katherine's nephew).
