Your video has helped and answered a lot of my questions. Did you have to remove steering column to get to install the pedals?
@@dustinriggs5396, I don’t think I did but I honestly can’t remember. I know I lowered it to delete the cable that keeps you from turning the ignition unless the brake pedal is depressed in park. Watch all of my videos on the swap. I know I mentioned it in one of them.

Camera evidence of pigs reacting would help understand if this is effective or a niche situation device. How does it stand up to a serious boar intent on damage?
Josiah Heinrich, I believe I discuss it in one of the videos about the truck, but if memory serves, I had to connect only two of the wires to the manual transmission. The only two wires used were for the reverse light switch. I simply pulled a tail light to see what color went to the reverse lights.
I know this was a long time ago but I’m hoping you might can help One-can you take the transfer case off the automatic 97 transmission and use it (I believe it’s a 4l60-e ) on the Chevy 5 speed But my main issue is my truck is a 96 extended cab 1500 4x4 but came with a 4.3 with a 5 speed before I got the truck the 4.3 5 speed was pulled and my father in law took a 97 350 vortec with the 4l60-E and put it in and now the trucks just awful it takes off in I’m guessing 3rd shifts to Drive and never does go in OD I tried putting a 97 dash and harness in it but I couldn’t get the main plugs to work. So my plan is just put back a 5 speed. Because of the shifting my odometer don’t work trip or reverse lights but idk which one I use I have a nv4500 but it was 2WD so idk if I needa find another one or what. It seems you know what your doing. I’m just stumped. Please help! Lol if you can
Shane, the 4L60E will not shift because the factory ECU came from a manual transmission truck so it will not control the shifting on the automatic. Where is the transfer case that came behind the original 4.3 5 speed transmission?

@@jasonmartin9393, my truck was a 95 4wd with a 700r trans. I unplugged the automatic transmission electrical connections completely and removed the shifter from the column. The only wires you should need will be for the backup lights. I don’t know what the 4L60 speedometer connection looks like vs the NV3500’s so I can’t comment there. I will say if money is tight and you’re capable of doing this work you’d be money ahead having your automatic rebuilt instead of swapping it.
@@omoffroad hi thanks for the reply I think I’m making progress on it I finally got the clutch pedal in man it was hard I got the transmission in but had to drill new holes for the cross over for the transmission And I have the master cylinder in but had another problem I had to get a different yoke from the jun but I got it for free and had to find a bastered u joint for it to go to my drive shaft and that was a hard find don’t no if I’ll need any thing yet ant got no farther yet on it. But I did get it to start off the key there was a park neutral safety switch under the truck I had to fix so it would start can’t wait to try it out

There's no need to with a stock 350 or especially the 4.3L V6 he's got. The NV3500 is rated for plenty more torque than that will ever put out even during burnouts. If you go with a modified 350 or up to a 454 though thats a different story
omoffroad I hope it will it shouldn’t change due to an engine swap should it? It had a 305 and a automatic and now it has a P-Pumped 24 valve cummins and I want to put a 5 speed in it
gordon conroy, I honestly don’t recall a clutch safety switch at all. If I don’t mention it in my other videos I would have bypassed it by soldering the wires together. It’s just a two wire circuit on a normally open switch.

dawson neddo, watch all the videos I’m fairly sure I covered it but what I did was pulled a rear tail light to confirm the color of the wire going to my reverse light bulbs. Mine were light green. I then located the ends of them on the switch on the side of my auto and simply moved them to the reverse switch on the manual trans. Simple as that sir.
denver bevins, I converted this one to electronic ignition. No more points is wonderful just don’t ever accidentally leave the ignition on overnight or it fries the module

Matt86toy, the speed sensor is located in the transfer case, so it remains the same with either transmission.

@@matt86toy , I have not swapped a 2wd but I would assume the speed sensor in the 2wd tail housing would be the same in both transmissions.

No. The pedal assembly can be installed from underneath. All of the holes are either already there or marked from the factory.

You would really have to cover the floor well with dirt then see if they would trip the wire. It would definitely hold them if smaller wire was used.

Came here after my 97 blew the 4l60e for the 4th time in 3 years. Looks like a bugger to do but might just have to at this point.
Depends on how mechanically inclined you are but definitely worth it.

Is your speedometer connected and working? The VSS (vehicle speed sensor) might be affecting the idle?
@@omoffroad everything hooked up fine correct everything works as it should mainly hangs in between shifts, sometimes till I come to complete stop

I did not do anything to the computer. I ran the same one from the original automatic set up.
