Today we set out on an adventure to limit out of walleye on Lake Erie. We are very successful catching over 30 walleye on the day. I fished that spot a few times… unsuccessfully 🤷♂️you guys are pretty amazing to me! I drive up from Brimfield. I grew up near that river a half century ago, back in the coho salmon days.

Nice video. Do you find that spoons/spinners out fish floating minnows/eggs?
It depends on the day. We normally start off by float fishing and if that doesn’t work we try spoons. I’ve had my best luck with spoons during the peak of the run in the fall and I have better luck float fishing in the winter!
@@peresieoutdoors I like spoons in the early Fall and into winter. I just started float fishing this past year and really enjoy it. Now that the rivers/water have higher temperature it seems the fish are chasing spoons more aggressively...
@@Teamanfish3 Float fishing is awesome but nothing beats a biggin smacking a spoon. I’ve noticed the same thing that if the water is warmer they seem to bite the spoons but if it’s really cold they rarely hit it.

Was just in this area today. Low and clear water with an amazing current. Not a lot of people fishing 🎣 today. The area seems to be a very good early/mid winter spot. Anyway ... I found it lol.

And why use spoons fishing a float fishing spot spoons are more for the mouth of the river i get they catch fish but your also spooking fish and messing with people float fishing there not trying to be a rude person just some tips alot of float fishermen dont like it

Pleasant hill dam... Geo tracked you there. Couple of my friends down at the bureau need to have a word with you. Any good possible time and place we could meet with you to arrange that interview? This is satire. I fish there all the time. There's a couple huge pine trees just below the damn along the inside of the wall. You can't cast the flowing water without getting snagged on them. Such a bummer. When they open the dam up a good bit in late late fall early winter you could ask for a better saugeye spot. Had me and my two buddies depressed as shit cause we look forward to them eatens. Have a good day dude

Dunno where this even is. The crowds have always been bad but since covid it just sucks. I have access to a private branch, its the only place ive done well consistently this year. Back when I was a kid you used to see guys using minnows quite a bit. I remember doing decent with them a few times but not really enough to wanna mess with hauling them around. I will say this years been pretty good with good size fish. I dont ever keep those things. I always say im going to keep a good hen for eggs and to cold smoke but its just not natural
In this video we are fishing an Erie trib near Cleveland and the crowds weren’t terrible but still pretty busy. It’s been tough to find spots that haven’t been hammered 24/7. This was our second time using minnows and it worked really well surprisingly catching quality fish. We normally keep a few fish to eat and stock up for the year cause we have limited time at the river.

Never tried it either until that day. It’s definitely worth a shot!
