„Ich bin von Kopf bis Fuß auf Liebe eingestellt…“ I can‘t help it, but whenever I hear this song, it‘s Marlene Dietrich‘s voice playing out in my head… Dare I say that I prefer this more melodious performance over hers…? 🌺🌺🌺 Thank you for posting this lovely recording! 🙏🍀
Nice!!! 🌟🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶🎶🎵🎶🌟 Thanks for sharing! 🙏🍀
Soulful, tender and poignant… 🌺🌺🌺 Thanks for sharing! 🙏🍀
Here‘s another tune I like at lot… 🌼🌼🌼 Thank you for sharing this lively performance!
Were you dancing 🫤🙂
@@radiogramgramophonetoons5802 No, I was singing! I‘m a bad dancer, but an okay singer… 😊
One of the great dramatic tenors of his time - and still unforgotten… 🌹🌹🌹 Thank you for sharing this beautiful, soulful serenade! 🙏🍀
A song that made me smile… the way delightful music always does… 🌸🎵🎶🎶🎵🎶🎶🎵🎶🌸 Thank you for so many wonderful uploads! 🙏🍀
More this afternoon 🙂🙂
@@radiogramgramophonetoons5802 Still catching up, but I‘ll add your next uploads to my playlist! 👍😃
@@hrbooksmusic7878 ……. I hope they are up to standard for you 🙂
I have the original photograph of this session, but not the record.
Well done, nice find 👏
@@radiogramgramophonetoons5802 Do you have any information on the record label? I know Ray Noble was the director, but not much more.
„Garden, Sunshine, Music“ is a lovely motto! And your garden appears to be a lovely place to enjoy the benefits of life! 🧑🌾🏡🪴⛲️🪷🌺🌸🌼 Thank you for more great uploads! 🙏🍀
Nay bother Lassie 🌼
@@radiogramgramophonetoons5802 Lassie… I love that! 😊👍
It's lovely in your garden. The foliage is pretty, looks like rhododendron. Maybe. Anyway, sentimental tune. Nice 💐
You’re correct….. it is Rhododendron, (already planted when we moved here in 1987-it’s just got a lot bigger since then), trouble is that all the flowers will be gone quite soon and I don’t think they flower more than once a year. But yes there are some nice 1920s & 1930s toons on these smaller 78 records 🙂
@@radiogramgramophonetoons5802A fleeting beauty, the flowers. But, the evergreen leaves stay full all year. I try not to miss your posts, many songs are new to my ears. Pleasant 😊
@@kathyjuneart …….. well I certainly do upload a lot of records 😳😂 ………. It’s strange that I fall back on this music, time after time again. I never thought when I was younger that one day I’d feel lonely. ☹️ The music has become my escapism in an odd way……. In uploading the records. Sad in a lot of ways 🫤
Music is a comfort, sanctuary. Yes, most of my day is spent with a soundtrack. I'm sorry to hear you feel sad and alone. People are listening. I love to listen. Thanks for sharing. Take care 💖
More of a comedy routine than a dance number -interesting for all that
Wonderful - years later the likes of Frank Sintra were still recoding this number
This recording could pre-date the 1920s
With my limited knowledge in searching, I couldn’t find it listed or a date
Very nice toe-tapping number; Sam Browne on vocals? usually, I can tell
Very nice - the vocalist's name is properly not mentioned on the label - I believe it to be Sam Browne (I stand to be corrected)
No you’re correct, no name of vocalist on the label
Amazing save 🙏 Do you sell some of these records?
@@radiogramgramophonetoons5802 do you have layton and johnson available?
I’ve got 1000 x 78s (a mixture of artistes on 10 inch records) on marketplace in UK, for sale
@@radiogramgramophonetoons5802 do you sell internationally?
Hey I'm from Georgia! This tune indeed, Swings!😁
The duo of Stephane and Django is one of my all-time favourites...😚
Oh this one is superb!😀 My thanks!💖
Aim to please……… or hope so. 🙂
@@radiogramgramophonetoons5802 Oh yes! To say the least, you have some very interesting tunes there...most of the time with what you post, I am discovering names and songs that I had never heard of...thanks so much for that. Means a great deal to us older music enthusiasts.💖

Love it.😚 This one sounds early twenties as well...maybe 1923 as the other one you posted by The Elliotts.🤔💖
Updated both uploads now thanks. Yes they are either side of the same record 🙂🌼
@@radiogramgramophonetoons5802 Ahh, I see. Glad I could help!

More from Robert Stolz‘s charming operetta „Wenn die kleinen Veilchen blühen“ (obviously „Wild Violets“ in the English version) … very lovely… ✨✨✨ Thanks for sharing! 🙏🍀
Robert Stolz… ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Charming and beautiful… ❤️ Thanks for sharing! 🙏🍀
You are most welcome young sir. 🌼

@@radiogramgramophonetoons5802 Oh, but I‘m dead serious! I really am!
Soooo sweet… the lyrics and music - and also the voice - touch my heart… 🌹🌹🌹 Thank you for the beautiful post! 🙏🍀 I’m going to try to work my way through the missed uploads on your channel (and others; so many posts…) during the course of the next days, but will probably refrain from writing comments in order to catch up a little faster. But: I‘m back… 😊
Welcome back and happy listening. In fact I’m just about to play some more toons on the Gilbert gramophone again now, so they’ll be uploaded later on. So more for you to listen to. 🙂 🌼
@@radiogramgramophonetoons5802 Thank you for welcoming me back! Very nice early decca Lyman
Yes it’s a decent toon I’d agree. Thanks for listening 🙂🙂
I’m quite pleasantly surprised at the sound quality, the band fills the air and the voice is loud and clear too. The band also manages to stay quite audible when accompanying his voice, nice and quite surprising for a turntable.
You didn’t mention the great video 😀🙂
"Duffy's Tavern where the elite meet to eat Archie the manager speaking Duffy ain't here."
Where’s Duffy’s ?
@@radiogramgramophonetoons5802 NY somewhere on the radio airwaves of 1941-1951. 😊 When Irish Eyes Are Smiling was the theme song for it, so that's where my mind went when I heard your video.
@@carissakirksey6606 ……… sorry you are obviously, ‘way-ahead’ of me………. I’m just a slow English old dude 😂
@@radiogramgramophonetoons5802 Haha, no worries! Duffy's Tavern was an Old Time Radio program in the 1940s to early '50s. It's good fun, & there are videos of it on CZcams, if you care to give it a listen! 😊
crackin tune... and one that really got me into 1920's/30's jazz
There was me thinking i had the only copy thanks for uploading
😳
Really catchy tune and rythem absolutely love this. I do have the original 1928 one on a victor scroll
Oooh nice 👏👏
lovely 👏🎶👍
‘Cheers-me-dears’
the end made me chuckle 😂😂
You trying to wind-me-up
@@radiogramgramophonetoons5802 😂😂
bought this blind and posted it up a while back.. lovely toon 👏🎶👍
I love this song -I always associate it with Arthur Tracy - this is never the less - a charming recording - Lost Love romanticized - so be it
Maurice Winnick was the man who gave us the sweetest of sweet music - I enjoy his work - he also had at one time or another top-line vocalists such as Al Bowlly and here the wonderful Sam Browne
How long have you been listening to this type of music. For me it’s only about 7 years and I don’t remember too much about actual artistes, all I’m concerned about is, do I like a particular record or not. You seem to have an in depth knowledge
@@radiogramgramophonetoons5802 From the age of 9 - I am now 60(I can't get my head around it) my favorite singer is Al Bowlly -But I have time for many of the singers from this time and later - Dean Martin, Johnny Cash from more recent times - I am not an expert, it is just a hobby
Never a dull moment with these fabulous singers...love this.💖
Love it! My gran and I just listened together and we’re jazzed! 🥰
That’s great, I’m pleased that you and your Gran enjoyed it 🙂……….. This batch of records are some of the ones that I played and selected about 2021, with my mum listening in the next room to where I was playing them. (Lost mum in 2022 😢)
Oh....I love this....😚
Yes I like it also 🙂, made me feel like I was in the 1930s 🙂

I hear a bit of 'I'm just wild about Harry' in the midsection. Interesting.
I’m certain many artistes pinched sections of other Artists work over the years.
@@radiogramgramophonetoons5802 Yes. I enjoy hearing familiar bits within.
The mouth harp is underutilized in today's music. Most often used as as a sound effect, a novelty. It's portability lends it to a lot of traveling songs, hobo sorts. I love hearing it, this is a fun song. Hi ho, hi ho 🎶
You mean Dew’s harp ? If that’s the correct spelling !!! 🙂
@@radiogramgramophonetoons5802 it's called a few things, none of them apply really...but, yes. Not a harp at all, right! Boing sound ha😊
I have an add for that record cleaner on one of my record labels
Oh really, wow
Something about men and gitis? And sea and Germany? Ladadaidai dai wooah toonzzzz!!!
Sorry, you’ll have to de-cypher that comment as I can’t understand it.
Enthusiastic and fantastic 😂🌈 Hopeful
Always thought this lady was a bit more staid and sang more classical pieces 😳
The only other song that I know of in regards to wallpaper is Flowers on the Wall. The stuck up family, how funny! So....how's it hanging? 😅😂
Vertical
Interesting lyrics, nice find. A lit of history in a short song, tune sounds a little like the shanty Drunken Sailor. Love it! 🔱👢
The turkey and cat together sound so silly! 😆A fun song, thanks for sharing
I couldn’t make that sound 😂
Recorded on November 27, 1933. Origibally released on Columbia 2856-D. Vocal Chorus by Billie Holiday {her first recording}. Benny Goodman, clarinet Jack Teagarden, trombone Charlie Teagarden, Shirley Clay, trumpets Art Karle, tenor sax Frankie Froeba, piano Dick McDonough, guitar Artie Bernstein, bass Gene Krupa, drums
