    Thanks for the video. I have the Shark HD520 with the spoilboard set and love it. Having said that, flattening the black MDF spoilboard is probably the messiest thing I've ever done in my shop. Still, it's a great value as you said. I do have an unrelated question for you. How do you have your spindle set so that the dust boot reaches all the way down to the work surface. I have my spindle mounted all the way up and the dust boot fibers end maybe one inch below the bottom surface of the collet, which puts it above the work piece top surface with most bits.

    What is your experience with it? Speed? Cutting power? Ease of use? Thanks!

      I am happy with it. I do not use lasers in my workflow very often so I’m still learning so it’s hard for me to judge speed. That being said it is very easy to use and I find the learning curve to be very manageable. I haven’t tried to cut with it yet but have been using it mainly for logo burning and etching and it is a solid performer.

    Why are you using clean gravel and not gravel with fines? Clean gravel doesn't truly compact especially with no water for density. Won't be a firm surface for the concrete and will end up cracking with any sort of substantial load on it

      It seems this guy does not want to share this information. Someone else asked the same question and has received no response also. Kinda annoying that he makes money off of our watching his “informative” videos but doesn’t share information which would help us get up to speed on our own similar projects without toasting a bunch of bits/cash.

    • @the_crafty_studio_official
      @the_crafty_studio_official Před 2 měsíci

    I have a new table that I wanna make after a couple practice pieces. This slab has a decent crack at the one end and was wondering if I needed to bowtie it before the epoxy or if an epoxy fill would be enough to hold it together in the future?

    • @the_crafty_studio_official
      @the_crafty_studio_official Před 2 měsíci

      Hey Mike. Not at all. Great question and thanks for asking. Resin acts as a glue and has more than enough holding power therefore bow ties are not necessary. When you purchase from StoneCoat Countertops Epoxy use my discount code thecraftyweiner for 10% off your purchase and reach out with any questions. 🤘🏻

    1. Camera setup. 2. Everything done slow so viewers can see what has been done. 3. Making script, things to be said. 4. Repeat if not said correctly. 5 video editing.... Probably missed few more reasons why it's 3x more time demanding.

    The Kreg table you recommend is not symmetrical front to back. To get full travel of the fence, the blue track must be positioned in the back, under the red fence.

      @@the_crafty_studio_official I'm using the Kreg PRS 2100 table and after taking advantage of the table’s asymmetry, I’m able to get 4” of the 6” possible fence travel. The last paragraph on page 1 of the instructions calls attention to the need for a “shop-built table extension must be added to the back of the typical table” to get the full 6” of fence travel. What model # is your Kreg table?

    feather the cut with a sharp blade and you can do a glueup. It hides it completely if done well enough. google how to do it if you havent. I suggest vacuum bagging it when you glue that back as well.
