that's gland expression - that's the squeezing of the glands using a tweezer like utensil with paddles on the end. Thats different and is done AFTER this procedure. This procedure opens the blocked glands because the gland exit point becomes capped and the remaining trapped oil becomes ransid. No point doing gland expression if glands are badly capped. This first.

Jfc this man really just lanced this poor person's eyelid. It's also suprising that the area wasn't cleaned before the expression- I know expressing can release abdormal meibum anyways but just smearing the secretions around while expressing cannot be doing the patient any favors.
