You donât feel the stiffness. The vibration technology is excellent I donât have any issues generating a ton of spin with these.
Spin is good youâre right but if you donât feel that itâs stiff then youâre lucky because itâs so hard for the elbow. Thanks for watching đŸđŸ
Excellent review Coach Alex and like the higher camera angle in this video. Would have definitely preferred if Babolat instead re-released the Aeropro Drive Original from 2004 with that same sleek black color with the yellow stripes. The paintjob is so ugly in this Origin, in my opinion that not even Rafa is rocking it, lol. Hoping that Raquetteville will have the heavier Origin version with that monster 360 swingweight for you to try it!
We donât have it at Raquetteville but yes it would be fun to try! Itâs probably the worst paint job of all time đ Thanks for watching đŸđŸ

A lighter version of an âoriginâ racquet kind of defeats the purpose. đ Have you ever used lead/silicone/leather grip to customize a lighter racquet?
Yes for suređ yes Iâve used leather grips for a long time!

Wait wait wait, was that kid you? Were you the ball boy? You need to eat more to have more power. You need weight power but still slim enough to run fast. So how much weight are you at? I can give you counseling. Im your 70 year old 500 lbs coach that likes hanging with young guys, if ya know what i mean, while fingering belly.
I really enjoy this racquet but I wish it was a little more stable against hard hitters.
Yes for sure but itâs tough due to the head size and the weight. Thanks for watching đŸđŸ
Can you compare it to the Babolat Pure Aero (Gen 7)?
Yes I will try before the end of the of the year!
No. If you mean that racquet nerds are looking for something to show off, it wonÂŽt work anyway. Because for showing off you need someone to recognize what you are showing. And only other racquet nerds will know what an Angell or Solinco (or any other company with less than 1% market share) racquet is in the first place. I have NEVER seen anybody recognize my Yonex Regna. And I donÂŽt care. I didnÂŽt chose it because I want to show off. A Prince Phantom for a fraction of the cost (and the option to demo it as well) would have done the job just as well. I chose the Regna because the specs were so much perfect for me that I just couldnÂŽt say no when I had the opportunity to order a pair. An Ezone Tour is actually just as good, but I donÂŽt really like the VDM. The Regna is the first racquet that I ever bought without demoing before, and boy was I right to order it blind! I never had so much joy when hitting the ball, even when I mishit. Racquet nerds have another advantage: whenever I see someone come up with a Pure Drive 100 I know my opponent will be no match for me. I have never come across anybody who really knows how to play and swings a PD 100. But when I see a Head Extreme Tour (now renamed Pro) I know that my day is going to be tough. Nobody choses such an ugly racquet without knowing what to do with it.
I use my parents 20 year old prince racquet
Omg whatâs the racquet?
@@AlexTennisChannel itâs called a prince thunder light
@frostizz2072 Nice!
I've been wondering about this too (vcore 95 2021). What made you realize that your racquet was too tough for you?
@@micah2237 when I was loosing too much gamesđ I realized that I couldnât play an important point with a tough racquet and get consistent shots. Thanks for watching đŸđŸ
Good choice of string to do a review Coach Alex! Actually regular 4G was my go-to string for many many years due to its superb control. For me it had decent comfort, only on a weighted up frame. I would never use it on a light stock racquet, since there is little weight to absorb the stringâs vibration due to its high stiffness. However, since transitioning to lighter frames, I had to give up 4G and go for a string like the Head Lynx, which Iâm now using on my 2024 Speed MP Legend. However, I did hear from some people, that any rough version of the luxilon strings could feel softer, which makes me want to try the 4G rough!
@@icemandl6 Iâll have to try 4g again to tell you if the rough is softer but if itâs the case it could be a great idea!
Knowledge is power. On the other hand, we can believe that tennis is for pleasure and not for "winning at all costs", and if a more demanding racquet is more enjoyable (always if is not too heavy or stiff), I think is the way to go
I mean "on the other hand" cause I recognise that trend of using "hard" racquets and the downsides. But also, I see it more with hard poly strings
Yes I agree! At the end of the day tennis should be fun!! Thanks for watching đŸđŸ

Iâm definitely guilty of it ⊠BUT at the same time I can recognise the difference in feel (for my taste at least ) with a heavier racquet. I gravitate today on a 333/338 gr finished racquet so I guess is about 310/315 gr naked and the feel with the plow through is just different . There is people that heavily relate to arm speed and others , like me that âneedâ that difference because they canât swing so quick ( strenght , age , you name it ) but with a good timi g and complete stroke can play very good anyway . I owned a LOT of racquets and today I play with PA98 / VCORE98 and PURE strike 98 but sometimes I really enjoy just relax with a bigger size 104 285 like Gravity Tesm and just flow eith the rally without trying to destroy everyball . As a recreational player nowadays I recognise the neverending will to hit winners but at the end of the journey id the hit itself that is the reward ! A perfect , in front hit with nice footwork and good weight transfer is rhe reward and the feel comi g from a Prestige MP or a 97/98 you name it ⊠95 for the braves or just a wooden racquet just destroy the experience with big profiled dtiffer sticks like PureDrive . It is just a fact . It is not about the easy of use or the km/h you can serve but them feelz đŸđ
@@keymonkey7352 yes I agree feel is really important and at the end of the day if you like your racquet then itâs fine! Thanks for sharing your story and your thoughts đŸđŸ
you make a great point here. i see low level players playing with demanding rackets like the pro staff (i think 340 gramm unstrunged!) and with a string tension of 26/27.
Itâs impossible to play well with this type of racquet! Thanks for watching đŸđŸ
Pro Staff RF97 is the 340g. Regular Pro Staff is 315g
Rackets does not make mistakes , players are making the mistakes
Yes thatâs for sure but racquets and strings can help you to feel better! Thanks for watching đŸđŸ
I have been very guilty of this in the past. Just moved to an Angell TC105 300g .25 extended and for the higher level club doubles I play these days it is so much easier to play better with that then any of the players 98 frames that I used to think I was good enough to play with. I wonât be changing any time soon.
Nice! Thanks for sharing your story!! I think you have a great racquet đŸđŸ
Yer I know where your coming from here! LOL I am 64! Average club player! but I can't make my mind up what to play with now! I have so many different rackets! I consider my self allcourt old school flat hitter! Double handed backhand. So this is what I have: Donnay pro one (xenecore) Prince t100p, Prince t100 290, Prince 290 o3 ports, Wilson blade CV, Wilson blade 100v v9, Wilson 5 Triad, Technifibre 305 16x19, Angell TC100, Angell TC 99 18x19, 2 x Angell react 99 18x19 different specs, Angell 97 18x20 Head speed MP 2024, Head speed MPL 2022, Wilson 6.1 team, 2 x Prokennex Ki5 295 think thats it! Upto 5 years ago blade was my favourite but the weight ie SW made it tough due to Wilson shocking QC! I had the 2015 version which i gave away due to couldn't handle the racket anymore again due to QC problems! I started trying and buying different rackets due to surgery on shoulder then elbow! Wanted to have the power & control of my pro one with out the weight! But found it was harder to player with lighter rackets felt something was missing! Then recently started to realise i am getting to old to play with heavy control thin beam rackets. so started playing with different 100s, but i am reluctant to move from certain types been using Angell react, Prokennex Ki 5, and speed MP, Found the speed MP to be a little hard to handle, the speed mpl with weight added to give me 305g strung helps me serve better! However the high launch angle doesn't help my flat forehand! The Angell react 18 x 19 at a 305g strung with extra 1/4" plays well however think the SW makes it a little harder (298 unstrung) also feeling a little uncomfortable in my arm! The Prokennex come in at 314g strung, this seems to suit my game the most better than the react in comfort. the react slightly more power! But find both can do everything well! Should play with the prokennex but favour the Angell because its different and looks nicer! LOL Strange because in the UK you can't buy the prokennex and Angell is not very well known! So I have fallen for the this is different sort of thinking! I am now considering the lighter Prokennex Ki5 or Q5 100s both 16x20 think i need to get real and play with what i can handle rather thinking about my image!
Nice!! Itâs a long journey to find the perfect racquet and sometimes it never ends! Thanks for sharing your story đŸđŸ
Very funny , I just bought a whiteout 18x20 because is different and it makes me feel special đ€Ł. Anyways , so far I still feel I play better than with my head radical MP auxetic yet I do like your point and I will try to consider it and try to stick to a one racket for a while soon
Nice! I havenât tried the whiteout but it seems great!đŸđŸ
Hi Alex, I am an aggressive baseline player. I was using ProStaff 88, Switched to ProStaff 97 RFA. Currently using VCore Pro 97D. I like the feel of heavier racquets in my hand, they just feel so .... right. You think I should change to something lighter?? Stability on volleys and a decent control & power from baseline are my top priorities. I play with moderate amount of Top Spin.
The Vcore Pro 97 D is hard to beat if you like flatter shots, 1 handed back hand, control, feel and comfort. Buy as many as you can find before theyâre sold out! đ
@@sportscastercanada Thanks, and yes I forgot to mention that I do have a one hander

Fair comment. If you are a club player ust pick a common racquet, they are common for a reason... I use Dunlop Fx500 v2, just a tad more sensitive than PD 100.
Excellent choice!! Thanks for watching đŸđŸ
Dunlop FX 500 is not common. Dunlop has lost so much market share that they are an exotic brand now.
@@sebastiandomagala9233 after the brand is owned by Japanese the brand has changed a lot. Try them and see. For example, FX 500 is way better than Babolat Pure Drive... Don't be prejudiced :)
A great topic to cover Coach Alex! Personally I was guilty of that too when I was using the RF97, but I did play decent with it still but when I started playing more higher level players it really hindered me! Now gravitating towards the most stable ones in the lighter catergories, like the Speed MP, which suits my game better!
Nice and itâs not like you donât have to play with tough racquets from time to time. I think youâve a made a great choice đŸđŸ
How many racquets do you own? Have you tried the old vintage racquets from wood to aluminum to graphite and Kevlar? If you donât already have a video of all your racquets, it would be cool to see.
I did a video about it at the beginning of the year but I donât how many racquet I ownđ Maybe 20? I never tried old racquets but I would love to do a video about it one day! Thanks for watching đŸđŸ
Do you think this one is better than the latest version.
I havenât tried the latest one yet but maybe soon! Thanks for watching đŸđŸ
It's low power string, you have to generate your own power.
Exactly and thatâs why itâs fun!
The Vostra V4 is an excellent racquet. It is similar to the V-Cell 4 but with more control and slightly less power. Best results I have found have been with Volkl V-Square 18g at 52 lbs. Volkl Cyclone is not nearly as good a string as the V-Square which gives more spin to control the power of this frame.
Yes itâs a great setup! Thanks for your feedback and for watching đŸđŸ

I have to go with FĂ©lix Auger-Alliassime but I donât think it will happen đđšđŠđšđŠ Whoâs your pick?
@@AlexTennisChannel I don't think it will be any of the Americans đșđžđșđžđ so I know how you feel about home Teams! I'm going with Carlos Alcaraz đ„đ
@nathanmiller6051 good choice!

I found this video because I wanted to buy the old school Pete Sampras 95sq in Wilson 6.0 original in amazing condition, because everyone is rave about it. But not sure what you think!
I havenât tried this one yet but Iâm sure itâs great!! Thanks for watching đŸđŸ
I Have played with that racquet for the last 13 years. There is no power, ideal for someone with a full swing or follow through. It does have great feel sensitivity
What is first poly main you would recommend to a guy who has been using multi/poly hybrid?
Probably Yonex PolyTour Pro if you want a comfortable poly! Thanks for watching đŸđŸ
@@AlexTennisChannel thanks,, what abt volkl ? Their strings are cheaper in my area
@akbarberlian maybe Völkl V-star for comfort or cyclone tour for spin!
Does Cyclone tour (VCT) 16g loses tension fast so it become unplayable?
@akbarberlian less than regular cyclone I feel
hi thanks for the review. how does it compare to the purestrike 100?
@@choobgym a bit more control oriented but really similar actually. I just felt like the sweet spot is just a bit smaller but itâs more stable than the PS 100! Thanks for watching đŸđŸ
this racquet need to be customized, same problem with screw after not clear shot. Added weight 10g and move balance to 320, now the racquet work without issues.
Nice! Youâre not the only one saying that so I think you are right! I should try this racquet with a bit of weight added to see the difference! Thanks for watching đŸđŸ
@@AlexTennisChannel now racquet has too much power, using softer strings with high tension. According summer temps. 25.5kg x 24.5 Tour Bite soft 1.25g
@AAroberto1i Nice I havenât tried TourBite soft but Iâm sure itâs great! Thatâs the problem of adding weight for stability, sometimes it makes the sw too high
đđ impressive
Ahah thanks đ

Having used this frame for around 1 1/2 years, your review is 100% accurate! The small sweetspot led me to add weight to the hoop, but switched to the 2024 Speed MP due to elbow issues with the Babolat. Now, no more launching the ball into the fence and my elbow is happy!! To be quite honest, the old PAVS, was better especially in the feel department and a more consistent stringbed vs the PA98.
@@icemandl6 Nice thanks for your feedback about the racquet I appreciate itđŸđŸ
pureaero 98 is more maneuverable than pureaero 100? which one is easier to swing? very similar swing weight
I would say that they are pretty similar maybe the 98 is tougher to swing but more maneuverable! Thanks for watching đŸđŸ
How about comparing percept 100D & Vcore Pro 100 ?
I would love to compare them but I havenât tried the 100d yet! Thanks for watching đŸđŸ
I tried the old pro version, but I got no connection to the from.
Exactly and itâs not that better for the new version⊠thanks for watching đŸđŸ
Hi Alex, another great video thank you. I tend to struggle with elbow issues from time to time so tend to keep away from poly strings. I like to hit with a lot of spin so was wondering if there was mutli string you would recommend for getting a good amount of spin. I currently use Wilson strings such as NXT or Sensation as they are marketed as 'comfort' strings. Any help or advice greatly appreciated as always!!! Keep up the great content, I always enjoy your videos!
Thanks a lot I appreciate it!! I currently try the technifibre Triax and Iâm really surprised of the control, feel and spin that this string provides while being comfortable đŸđŸ
@@AlexTennisChannel Many thanks for the quick response as always Alex, you are a star!! Finding shops that stock all different types of strings is never easy, but I will certainly look out for the Technifibre Triax, control, spin and comfort sounds perfect for me!!
Perfect let me know your feedback if you have the opportunity to try it!
@@AlexTennisChannel Will do. Looking forward to all of your future videos!!
@MarkHibbitt thanks!!
Nice review my man!
