Furthermore, the republicans cared so much about the migrant crisis that they voted against one of the toughest immigration bills in many years because Trump told them to, because it would not allow him to use immigration as an issue. I also guess it doesn't matter to you that the man you're voting for is credibly accused of having held on to classified documents over a year after he was asked to return them, and then even after being indicted was caught trying to hide evidence of his crime, or that he is an unindicted co-conspirator in two states over a scheme to change the election results, or that he is indicted in another state on a RICO charge related to election fraud. And what message are you sending by leaving the space where you are entitled to be other than, perhaps, that you are in there for some dubious purpose? Lastly, the Biden administration negotiated a deal with Senate Republicans that would have helped ease the crisis of migrants crossing the border illegally. The plan would have given the president the authority to close the border and sped up the adjudicating and vetting those seeking to migrate to the United States. It had bipartisan support in the House and Senate, but Trump told Republicans not to pass the bill because he wanted to use the immigration crisis against Biden in the 2024 election. Trump was in office for four years and did not fix immigration, so what makes you think he will get it done if given another four years? As the young people would say, "Your math ain't mathin." History is full of analogs, examples of those who are so counter-intuitive that they destroy themselves and their community. The house negro, who wanted to be just a little bit better off than the field negro, or the Jews for Hitler, who had to disband right after Hitler came to power because, as it turns out, Hitler was never interested in working with Jewish aristocrats and bankers to establish "room" for Jewery in German society. These are just two examples that come to mind. And I often wonder if these people and organizations ever came to the realization of the harm they have done to not only themselves but to others. My guess is, yes, they did come to that moment of clarity, but by then, it was too late. The good news is that you have 100 days to the next election to fact-check and consider everything I said and to change your mind. And even if you do not change your mind, I wish you well. I want you to know that, even though I am a heterosexual black man, I will do everything in my power to make sure Project 2025 is not enacted so that my trans and LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters are not subjected to the policies prescribed therein because I genuinely believe that by protecting your community, I am also protecting my own.
