Yeah, this is a great forehand disc and seems to fight out well on the flex shots. Not sure if it does as well in the other plastics. Have you thrown the Thunderbird forehand in other plastics? If so, how do they fly?

@@GoManGoDiscGolf-he5ho hey, I have the thunderbird in star plastic. Unfortunately I have not thrown it much for flex forehands-I had an injury to my obliques that has made me focus on my backhand for a while. That being said, my son uses a champion firebird and throws flex forehands with it for most of his shots. He can make that disc sing in the woods. I plan on getting back at them soon. I also have a captains raptor that is even more stable for super tight situations.

@@ashevillescarborough man hope you recover soon and well so you can get back at throwing forehands. Having that option comes in handy. I’m not familiar with the Captains Raptor and had to look it up.

@@GoManGoDiscGolf-he5ho hey, on the flip side, my back hand has improved - I bought a couple super flippy mids and fairways and really learned backhand turnovers which has been awesome.

@@ashevillescarborough nice! Roadrunners are good for that. Have you tried a Roadrunner? I have a review of that disc as well. I use my Roadrunner all the time.

@@killinfiend09 awesome that you’re getting back into disc golf! Heritage can be a little frustrating this time of year with the high OB grass and stinging nettles in the woods. I think it’s best to play it in the fall and winter. You may want to wait. Miami Whitewater may be a better alternative for now. Mt. Airy is a great and challenging course.

So for a portable basket, what would you recommend?

MVP black hole as a low cost basket or the marksman lite for putting practice. They can be bought around the $130 range. I started off with two collapsible travel baskets from academy at $50ea. Not the best target. They don’t really simulate a basket.

@@garypleasant3116 thanks for your thoughts. The MVP Black Hole baskets seem pretty solid as practice baskets and I do mention them in the video but I don’t see that they make a portable basket. I’m not familiar with Academy. Looks like DGA makes a portable basket but it’s pricey.

Glad you enjoyed the video! I agree, going to an open field can be very helpful. More open and usually no obstacles so you can just relax and throw. You can find spots on the field to throw to if you want to shape your shot some.

Yeah, that’s an interesting number for the glide. I’d say it’s more like a 5 or maybe a 6 but have to throw it more to see.

@@GoManGoDiscGolf-he5ho Ah, that's good to know. I just got a GStar Roadrunner today and am throwing about 230-260 ft. I didn't see much turn on my first few throws, but I'm happy to hear it's just out of my reach. I'm really working on my form, and making incremental progress every few weeks. So I'll keep at it, and in the mean time add a little anhyzer. Thanks and good review!

@@SparkyColdfire Yeah, if you add some anhyzer it will definitely turn for you. I’ve been working on my form as well and finding it’s taking a while to get comfortable with it and to see better results.

@@SparkyColdfire also if you’re having trouble with the disc turning to the right, if you’re a right handed backhand thrower, you may be releasing the disc too early.

@@GoManGoDiscGolf-he5ho You might be on to something there. I do notice that the occasional grip lock throw typically goes farther than max controllable throw. Also, I tend to reach straight back, pull through, and then whip out at the power pocket, but release around 9:00 relative to the target line, so that it travels directly towards the target. But you see people always talking about releasing at 10:00, which would meant I would have to clock my whole body a little left to still get it to head towards the target. I'll probably start with a little twist to my standstill, and work up to getting a little more diagonal on my runup. Thanks for the tip.
