Helldiver's success is proof of Sony's mistakes of not releasing Playstation Titles on PC at the same time...might help their money problems...freaking crazy I know. Arrowhead will get the servers fixed and the game at a $40 price point is amazing compared to Skull and Bones set at $70.

Adult rating is ONLY in Korea. We need to wait and see what ESRB does for US. Seems like proper rating would be T-teen, may possibly get M-mature.

PEGI 18 is not the same thing as ESRB AO. Games that got rated PEGI 18 include: Helldivers 2, Baldur's Gate 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Doom Eternal, Diablo 4, etc.

Stellar blade is rated for adults only in Korea right now, so is Minecraft and that negative rating impact really hurts Grandtheft auto sales man, best selling game in the world Grandtheft auto V rating M for mature. No it will not hurt the game.

Wait, Mechs in Helldivers 2? That sounds like a lot of fun. 10 Major releases and we only saw 4 "1st" party at the Xbox direct in January? Do you think Xbox is including some 3rd party titles in there too, or are they saying 10 major 1st party releases in 2024? I don't know about you, but I like surprises.

Yellow paint is super helpful, the original Horizon did the yellow paint to help with mountain climbing puzzles. It looked like tribal paint so it made sense. In the sequel, the digital interface was amazing I would have been lost! On the opposite side Tears of the kingdom you can climb anything because of the mechanics so it makes sense for the game not to have any. Make the paint make sense in the story and people won’t notice or seek out places to explore

PS5 2-1 with Xbox, that’s a bit surprising. Maybe since Gamepass can be played on PC you don’t need to buy their console anymore? I thought you bought an Xbox mainly so you could play online with your friends could be the end of that

I’m not the biggest fan of XBOX as a console but I do appreciate what it does for its fans and competition in the industry. I really think they need to keep consoles just to have a proprietary system to play game pass.

Retail (big box stores) are seemingly starting a transition. Walmart is removing physical copies of I believe Star field due to the impact of increased digital sales vs physical.

About a year ago I think I downloaded all the games for the 3DS I wanted but couldn’t find physically for under $100. it served me well and I have those games for when I’m ready to dive back in

As a Nintendo fan as well, I’m going to buy the princess peach game but I know I’ll have it beaten in a few hours. I don’t think Nintendo is going to give us a game that’s 30 some hours without Mario as the main character.

I'm also pumped for Stalker 2 and more or less on blackout for that one. The setting is amazing.

AI is certainly tricky. I think it can be a great resource, but not used in place of where a human should be doing the work. It almost makes you wonder if AI and layoffs are a correlation with all the developers. "We can have AI do this, so we don't need certain personnel."

If I really like a game, that I tried on a subscription, I will buy the physical copy. If they ever remove the game from the subscription and you don’t own a physical copy you are out of luck. Sony removed tv shows that people paid for they no longer own them. Any digital media you only pay to rent it as long as it’s available on that platform

I gotta say I very much doubt FromSoftware games are going to get a true easy mode. Their primary market crossection is well-established. To make an easy-mode would very likely lose them a chunk of their playerbase who, for better or worse, view completing the game or accomplishments in the game as something to be proud of, something a cut above more casual (easier) games. The difficulty and forced repetition set soulslike games apart. To make them easier would detract from their perceived value to the established market. Additionally, building a complex character is part of the game that people enjoy. A large part of what makes soulslike games 'difficult' is that it's not as easy as say, God of War where you just spend xp into sequential abilities and get stronger, and have a clear-cut path in a boss fight (visible weak spots, resistances, etc). You have to actually crunch some numbers, look at your stats page and figure out how to spec your gear and character. (Or, as you said, copy a guide) To some degree, there are already difficulty levels: New Game is the normal difficulty, don't play into New Game+ if you don't want it to get harder.

I agree. I always enjoyed playing 1st on a difficult/hard mode and then a 2nd time on easy to pick up everything I missed.
