hoe weet j e nu waar hij weer aankom vliegen. De richting bedoel ik.
In principe gooi ik ongeeveer tussen 90 graden tot 180 graden rechts van de wind met deze boemerang - en dit is voor elke boemerang weer wat anders. vaak rond de 90 graden. Waardoor hij met een consistente worp (en wind die niet te erg fluctueerd) rond mijn heup moet aankomen. Ik heb het ook dusdanig afgestemt dat het zo vliegt. Stel ik gooi net iets te hoog of te laag (en dat voel je gelijk na het loslaten van de boemerang) dan eindigt het vaak al wat meer voor me, dus dan ren ik naar voren. Voorbeeld hiervan is rond minuut 4 in de video. Daarnaast gooi ik zo veel met deze boemerang dat ik de vlucht kan dromen. Ik kan al snel aanvoelen waar hij eindigt gebasseerd op eerdere ervaringen. Eigenlijk is ervaring hier belangrijker dan het gooien zelf.

Funny story, I _accidentally_ made a three-bladed boomerang as a kid. After multiple failed attempts trying to carve one, I got frustrated, nailed two random thin pieces of wood together, and threw it. To my surprise, it came back. Took me only a little bit to figure out why the heck my angry carpentry project actually had working aerodynamics. 😂

Still a pretty nice flight f'mine.. Particularly with the wooden MTAs, have you tried a slight bit of downward turn (anhedral) on the leading edge of the leading arm's wingtip? It's one of those 'wing tip vortices' tricks we used to fiddle about with...
For this one, I haven't tried it! But I tried it on some composite ones a couple days ago -when I was retuning them, that really helped for those. This one is more like a warm up mta for me, so I prefer not to have too good flights otherwise I will lose it too easily😂
Depending on the wind, a bit more of an 'over the top'/lob (like an old style MTA) will buck the wind but it makes for a weirdo flight shape.. ( can you say Lorenz Attractor? :D ) I mostly always threw only using lower arm and all wrist for 'normal' boomerangs.. but then, I never did much more than 30m range... ..but I'm learning the hard way now (after 50+ years of throwing) how imperative it is to do the cool down as well as the warm up - I can't throw anymore 'coz my shoulder is all wrecked from the 'snapping'... and honestly, too much MTA :D ... ..but I'm raving, as usual :) Another good 'for study' video...
Dang, I love low-flying boomerangs.. 'specially in the shadow of trees.. . but I could never understand how to tune the multi-bladers - there are like 3 'trailing arms' so how do you tune 'em to stay up off the ground!? :D Y'ever tried a hook? I loved throwing Bunny Read's hooks... Another great video to watch.... :)
Great you liked to video! Multibladers are sometimtes a bit of puzzling! I find the icerunner shape (the one in this video) to be really good for my throw as it isn't flying up too much. You have to bend the wings downwards a lot (I should have done it in this video as it flew up a bit too much), start with one wing, keep on doing it until it doesn't change much. If that is not enough, then start doing the same thing on another other wing. Sometimes you have to twist another wing (positive or negative) to make it go a bit further or shorter as well! I hope that helps! I used to throw hooks before, but my local field is really too small for them :)
Sensational, mate! Best I ever did 'back in the day' (=1980s) was maybe 26 sec (unofficial)... and MTA was my thing, really... but always enjoy seeing a great Fast Catch round :)))) Fanx! for posting :)
