Awesome!!!💯
Flopped, huh? Try oysters
Boy you can tell this is early tv. With the music pre recorded. Then choreographed, with the musicians just kinda miming to it. But I came to see Boots Harris. He played with Hank Williams and was the first person to play steel guitar on the Opry stage.
Thank you for the upload, and thank you even more for the time stamps. I have a small correction in your chapter titles, though -- at 7:38, it should read, "Fiddlin' Buck Ryan and the _Echo Inn_ Cloggers," not the "Echoing Dancers." Easy error to make, given the lo-fi recording quality of the time and Dean's Texas drawl. The troupe was formed in 1950 and was sponsored by the Echo Mountain Inn. The Inn was located in Transylvania County (you read it right), in the heavy-duty mountains of Western NC. It's a stone cold gorgeous area. The team won several awards in the 50s, and were featured on _Town & Country Time_ for three years. They also had a lot of outfits. Edit: I take it back. It's not an easy mistake to make if you watch them. The guys have *ECHO INN CLOGGERS* in big, black letters on the backs of their shirts.
overall brand¿
Excellent 😀
"It's a many a man I have known in my day, who lived just to labor his whole life away." The lamentation of every man who has experienced a life of tough manual labor with other men. There's a pure and honest form of pride however when you finish a difficult job and make it out alive...
literally the worst version of this song
Is not
That first verse
❤sweetesti person.I.ever met!
She’s adorable, great yodeler, and her version of “I didn’t know the gun was loaded” (that’s a hoot, back when people had a sense of humor and stuff), has a verse the Andrew Sisters didn’t use. Patsy’s was faster, prefer the slower, and the way the sisters sang it, but Patsy’s extra verse and sound effects for it are much better…both versions are worth a listen, but only if you have a funny bone. Some people don’t.
R. I. P. ROGER🎸🇨🇱 MILLER
My parents had this and sixteen tons on record back in the sixties. I liked listening to them, but made me sad also because my dad was a coal miner.
The Legend who set the bar for all female yodelers to come! Miss ya Patsy!
Who is the pretty woman with the long curly hair who was Dave's guest before Patsy ?
I Can't believe this exists OUTSTANDING!!!
80 years old singing and playing like this! I love happy old people 😊 Ruby Leigh brought me here too
Letterman was a despicable human being.
Ruby Leigh and Reba brought me here 😊
Team Reba all the way 🙌
Me too
Me too
Same!
Awe such an older sweetheart she's so small w a huge voice 👏
Those so called high pitch calls by Bob Wills made those songs. Those songs wouldn’t have been the same if Bob didn’t come in with his “high pitched haw haws”! Loved it and still do!
They would have been a lot better if he had just let his fine vocalists sing and stop trying to steal the spotlight
Patsy Montana was a fantastic singer, she was amazing
Nothings as cool as an original
This is such an antidote to the insanity of today's world. Thank you
My mother when she can does this song without music at the karaoke hall
I’ll bet she’s cute at it. That would be fun to see and hear…😊
What is the name of the ladies back up band ?
The audio interference near the end makes it sound so weirdly good
Funny note ; Bob, durring rehearsals, was instructed to not do the call outs. He did anyway . Giggles...
W song it’s been 3 years since I’ve listened to it.
My mother used to sing this. Thanks.
is he the songwriter?
Yes.
Yes
He also wrote the original 16 tons song too
I heard he was accused of being a communist sympathizer because of this song.
@@curtgottler9961 Corporatists have always been fear mongering people who even slightly question the establishment. It was because he wrote songs for the people about the people. He was no communist.

Little Mary Klick sings one of the great bluesy country songs of all time
I used to sit by the radio and dare this song to come on. Love Bob and all!
Hallo Raimar, schön zu sehen, dass du noch aktiv bist nach 60 Jahren. Ich erinnere mich noch gerne an die Herausgabe der ersten 78rpm Platten auf 33! Viele Grüße Bernd
Lane, Joe was not appreciated enough as far as I'm concerned, what a powerful voice!
🤔 still the only one that’s commented.
Whooo!
The song at 23:20 is called Private John Q.
Man, I love Bob Wills. Everyone in that band is world-class talented. But also, I think I could have done without Bob's little high pitched side vocals here and there. Just saw on that fiddle, Bob. We don't need all that other mess! 😆
I agree 100%
They knew how to enjoy the music of the day !
Hello, I'm looking for their Firefly Waltz. Tia
My family was very close to Doc and Chickie and all the members they had over the years, I miss them ❤
I think that is Ralph Miele on steel, rather than Joaquin Murphey
She still alive?
Sadly no, she passed in 1996.
in 2021 she would have been 113.
@@bluegrassboy she was 80, during this performance, she could still play great.
Awesome!
Any way I could get a tape of this somewhere?
