We liked Jeremi Beach for snorkeling. Lots of fish around the rocks on each side of the bay.

Yes they do. But it is just an empty chamber inside. A big hole carved in stone. I was also curious, however I think it is much more impressive form the outside.

Temperature varies across the country. In the desert, at night, can get pretty chilli in Winter. We were shortly before the Summer and had sunny and still very warm weather. Safe travels!

You should! Madeira is a heaven for hikers, there is lots to explore and you can do all sorts of 'levada' hikes and other trekking. All depends on the fitness level. I am sure you will discover some great places. Looking forward to see it on the channel!

Seems things have changed since our visit. We really loved the setting and atmosphere there, too bad for the food. Have a look at the food tour we did in Mauritius. There are some lovely street food stalls that have tasty and fresh food.

@@traveltalesandteddybears I am Mauritian by birth and left the island when I was 28. Visit at least once a year and all my siblings and relatives live on the island. Have eaten some fantastic food in small family run restaurants around the island.

You can do it! This is the whole idea of the channel really, to show parents how much adventures they can have with kids in tow. We spent one month in Costa rica and most of it is on CZcams, in chronological order, in the Costa rica series. We started in San Jose, then Tortuguero, Sarapiqui (great for water activities), La Fortuna, Rio Celeste (Cacao Farm and National Park Tenorio), Samara (off the beaten path, seaside village), Monteverde (cloud forest), Manuel Antonio, Uvita and Corcovado NP before returning to Heredia and flying out.

We enjoyed several trips with the kids: the boat ride to Klein Curacao and snorkeling, visiting the Shete Boka natonal park (cool cave to visit and some lizards and other small wildlife) and Punda vibes with lots of street music and fireworks but none are specifically for toddlers. At the end of the trip we spent 3 nights in Mariott Beach Resort that has a kids club and a pool. I think this was probably the highlight for them :).

It is a beautiful island, we agree. We compare with prices in Western Europe and still seems affordable but it is true that the main tourist areas are getting more and more expensive.

@@traveltalesandteddybears I think yes because Portugal is not very expensive but Madeira part of Portugal is expensive because it is a tourist destination.

Temperatures range from about 14C in winter to 25 C in Summer. Can be quite chilli, especially in the mountains and during evenings. You are likely to experience different weather in different parts of the island, but some rain is always likely. Always pack a poncho! 😊

It is called Carmo, same name as the little square it is located in. We went back recently and I think it changed chefs as the tapas were less tasty than I remembered them. Go instead for Bistrô Gato Pardo, Rua de Sao Vicente 10, Lisbon.

You are right of course. What I meant by 'similar' is their function, as a light snack often alongside drinks. Our guide explained the difference, both in terms of quality and process. Having just returned from Barcelona however, I think tapas can also be quite elaborated and there are definitely restaurants now specialising in high quality tapas from fresh ingredients. We love the food all over Spain !

@@traveltalesandteddybears maybe you are not talking about "tapas" but "raciones" = portions. The portions are usually on a menu with a price beside them. They can be meatballs with sauce, croquettes, a stew, Russian salad, etc. ALERT! 80% of bars and restaurants serve "homemade croquettes" out of a plastic bag from the freezer. I guess we all agree that a tapa is free, if the that tapa is fresh and good food, maybe they are making up for their cost on the drinks side. I mean, you can pay 1,80 euros for a regular wine with some chips as a tapa with pot sauce. Maybe if the tapa is something like fresh squid marinated 24 hours with herbs and roasted on the spot... then each regular wine can go up to 3.50 euros... What is the saying? Ain't such thing like free lunch.
