Every year a family is honored for successfully reunifying with their children. This year June 2023 we celebrated the Keleleiki-Francisco family.

Our HYPE Youth Partners are young adults who have been through foster care, mental health and/or juvenile justice systems and are currently in or have graduated from college. A positive working relationship between parents and resource caregivers is pivotal to the well-being of the keiki. This event in Hilo celebrated the importance of shared parenting, bringing families together in aloha for one another and our keiki.

This video is a panel discussion with four birth parents about their experience of receiving their Family Service Plan. They describe what helped or hindered them around its implementation, and share ideas of how that the process can be improved.

This 10-minute video, created by Hawaii’s Nā Kama a Hāloa Network, depicts the benefits that can happen when parents and resource caregivers (foster parents) collaborate on behalf of the children. In it, three parents, their children, and the resource caregivers share their personal experiences of working together, and show the life changing impact it can have on children and parents.

The 15th annual ‘Ohana is Forever conference was held virtually on July 16, 2021, with over 200 young people, adult professionals and community partners in attendance online.

Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 "CAA" contains the provisions for the Support Foster Youth and Families through the Pandemic Act and provides significant assistance to young people with experience in foster care during the pandemic. These supports are time sensitive. Watch this video to see if you may be eligible for the supports provided under the CAA.
