Peaking for World Record Keg Load on 5/05
on May 5th at Wrath Of The Strongest in Sacramento, CA at Untamed Strength, I will attempt to break the current world record of a 520lb keg over a 52" bar, with a 550lbs keg.

So how is this calibrated? Is the height a percentage of the lifters height or do all competitors get the same height?
Oh almost forgot, incredible lift!
Strongman is a little chaotic when it comes to standards for some of these lifts. The old record was 520lbs over a 52" bar. 52 is the unwritten standard for loading in most competitions. I have a full unbroken video of us weighing the keg and measuring the bar height for "proof" of the lift. Just in case it is ever questioned, but didnt wanna upload a 7 minute video for an 8 second lift 😄 And thank you! 💪👊

I think he’s using it to build toward a keg load WR but I’m sure it helps with stones or sandbags

If you can use straps in whatever competition you're training for... seems kinda pointless to use straps here, but what the hell do I know

Ive always wondered why use figure 8 straps when doing a grip enhanced lift, like axle deadlift
The event Im competing in has a max axle deadlift, using straps is essential to a big number. Also, axle deads is not just a grip exercise, pulling on an axle is much more difficult as there is no flex in the bar, and the diameter makes the axle an inch or so further away than a standard bar.
