The 500 can handle more flow, the 250 is more compact.
So i am in the market to replace my current DC Aquamaxx skimmer and now taking another look at RedSea. But I am not liking what i am reading on the feedback forms about the RS 300, bit i am genuinely confused and this video isn't any help. Do you need the controller for it to work like a DC controlled skimmer and is the skimmer wifi controlled via the reefbeat app? I went to a lfs yesterday to ask about it, and they were unable to answer this exact question. I see two prices on BRS for the RS 300...confused as ever
You must have a controller to control the DC skimmer or the ReefRun pumps. The dual controller is sold separately as it can control 2 pumps so no need to get it with each product. The 2 prices are for the unit with or without the controller there's also an AC price which doesn't need a controller but doesn't have all the smart features as the DC version.
I've been using this as part of your mature kit for my cycle. I'm on day 14 and my nitrate has skyrocketed to 30-50ppm. Any advice you can give?
Keep using NOPOX and the Skimmer it will drop. The rocks probably weren't cleaned and cured which in turn releases NO3 to the system, or over feeding if you added fish already. Wait for the parameters to drop to the desired levels before moving on with the population.

Where is the dose calculator? Is it in the ReefBeat app somewhere??
In the Reef Dose4 menu. You must update the app and make sure the RD4 firmware is also up to date.
You should be able to pick between the 2 salts you sell on the calculator. Say I’m using Red Sea salt and not the coral pro but still want great results on a mixed reef and don’t want to switch to the coral pro. If you select great results on the calculator for mixed reef it only gives you coral pro not the other
Change your selection within the same tank category between #1-3 and you'll get exactly that.
You guys have made a beautiful light but it should not be required to be constantly connected to the app. This is a deal breaker for me. I have purchased many redsea products and love them but I can't deal with wifi connectivity issues. Why can't the light be used without wifi connection? why does it have to be connected? It should store your programming without having to be connected all the time, then, when you want to make a change, use the app. rebooting a critical device all the time is not ok. it would be my luck that the device would fail to connect as soon as I went on vacation or something.
You can work with it offline either with connection to a network or as stand alone (requires direct connection to the phone when you want to change something). It would work with the set program and won't give you any notifications.

Where can I put my parameters to update my doses?
Use the calculator on the app, there's a place to log your Ca test results and salinity. Make sure your app is up to date.
I don’t see the dosing calculator on my app. I routinely update my app, so I know it’s up to date. Can you guide me on where to find this? I’ve looked everywhere

Yes. Make sure your skimmer is working properly to remove all that great stuff.

Can someone please tell me where my water level should be if I intend to hang the 1200 model on the side of my sump? The total height of the sump is 21”. I’m having a sump made and the only thing I could find says between the water inlet and up to 1” below the sensor. That doesn’t help me because I do not yet own the product. Thank you for your help!

It will be fine if you hang it on the side dont worry about the water level as the inlet pumps water in and as the filter mat clogs it will raise the water level in the unit itself, once it hits the sensor it will drop the water level by turning the roll automatically. Dw red sea i'll do your job.
I have the old roller matt. I never used it still in the box. I personally am not a fan of all the wifi stuff. I have a kessil ap and the stupid app is and programming is touchy. Wish yoy could have an option for mechanical option.
You should 100% give it a chance, it's a game changer.

If your parameters are balanced (like our salt) and you keep them balanced, over time the Ca is an indicator for all 36 elements' uptake. Visit our website to read more.

This is highly unlikely that a dose of 3ml or less per 100l would do that. For NOPOX to kill anything you would need much higher doses and not run a skimmer.
I just started a newly cycled Max Nano G2 XL 2 months old.. and just started this 4 part system about a week ago. Took me 3-4 days to dialed in the correct dosage. So far it’s easy to use. Now just need time to see if it work as advertised. 😊❤ Tank is SPS dominant.

For me it be a hard pass. RS make stunning videos of their products but for me why dont they make a simgle dose additive so people dont need to spend over a grand on good dosing pumps. I fell for the marketing hype on your salt mixes and what a mistake that was. Cost me alot of time and money to correct the problems the salt (black bucket) caused my system. But kudos to you Red Sea for pushing out a new product line as i really do appreciate it.
Thank you for your comment. You want a product to be both concentrated and not compromise the bio-availability of the elements to be cost effective. The Coral Pro salt is balanced and high in foundation elements, keeping your parameters at these levels will promote faster growth. Keeping them lower and doing WC with the salt can cause swings and issues. As a rule of thumb keep your water parameters at the same level as the salt you use.
Make sure you order a spare replacement gear motor as mine failed after just 4 months. You've been warned.
We had an issue with a small batch of motors about a year ago. Some devices were affected. We have since fixed the issue and if you had or have an issue our customer service will take care of it right away.

There’s always a connectivity issue my Dose4. Sometimes I get email from RedSea that my Dose4 is not connected to the internet/cloud.

Mine is only 4 months old and already getting jamming message the electric motor is just not stong enough. Another bright idea by redsea but poorly executed.
Hi, the motor on the RM250 is the same as the RM1200 and is strong enough. If your roll is jamming perhaps something is stuck or pinched and maintenance or re-assembly is needed. Greetings, I have 3 damaged dosers after a firmware update, I sent the video as requested to the Red Sea Facebook account and they deleted the video, I have not received a response, the equipment was purchased at the authorized Red Sea store in Venezuela, even I was the marine aquarium advisor there and they don't respond to my messages either, the equipment can be recovered since technical support told me that it was very easy

The reef LED have 3 recommended programs, 15/20/23K to the corals they are all the same. Pick the one you like.

I purchased pump and on my new acrilyc 1,5 cm thick pump is fail down with small finger touch. Simply need stronger magnet. At the end i decided to place magnet inside the overflow box and pump under the overflow as RedSea confirmed that magnet is sealed for marine aquarium to not rust or leave some rust traces out. Take care if your glass / acrilyc is 1,5 cm thick !!!

Hi . I am new to the hobbie and just purchased the e260 which comes with 2x90 lights. I will only be having softies in my tank until i find my feet . Could you help we with whats best to grow theres corals . Im running at 55% blue 12% white . Will this be ok . Thanks
You can use the pre-set schedules (15/20/23K) at 100% and if that's too much you can acclimate the corals for 90 days starting at 50% and the app will bring it up to 100% in the given amounts of days. If you see the corals stress at a certain point start the acclimation over at 10% from where you detected the stress to slowly work your way up to 100%. You will figure out what the best % are after a few weeks of acclimation and can drop the % to the desired level.
