Ce film par sa tragédie, sa mélancolie, est d’une profondeur et d’une intensité incroyable. Je jeu sobre de Delon, face à un Gabin magnifique. La scène où Gabin viens visité Delon au parloir après le meurtre du policier, un silence, sans un mot, et un regard entre les deux hommes incroyables. Et en fin Delon devant la guillotine disant à la seul personne en qui il a de la confiance, et de l’amour j’ai peur! Puis le dernier regard que Delon fait à Gabin en se retournant…magistrales !

Que de souvenirs...I was young when I see this movie in french télévision, I was terrified by the music, and the character of devil played by Gérard Philippe and Michel Simon. For me, this movie is a masterpiece.
