What's Wrong with This Part of Africa?
Bir Tawil is the last truly unclaimed land on earth: a tiny sliver of land ruled by no state, inhabited by no permanent residents, governed by no laws and it's the only place on the planet earth that is habitable but unclaimed. Sandwiched between Egypt in the north with a population of 114 million people and Sudan in the south with a population of 49 million people, neither government claims Bir Tawil and neither does any other country. It's a piece of land bigger than the size of London or New York that nobody wants, an expanse of sand, infertile soil, rocks and not much else. It has no population, no coastline and no surface water. Considering this, this forgotten relic of colonial map-making is the only place on earth where people might actually be able to create a new country. So what’s stopping people?

Why South Africa is Obsessed with Private Security
zhlédnutí 6KPřed 9 měsíci
It's a hidden fact to many but South Africa wears two faces. The first is known and celebrated, the second is that the country has some of the highest crime rates in the world and a police force ill-equipped to combat it, so private security here is booming! There are more workers hired to protect specific people, places and things than police officers with a mandate to protect the public at la...
Does This Country Have a Racist Name?
zhlédnutí 7KPřed 9 měsíci
How did Niger end up with a name that is confused with a racial slur? The Country of Niger is a country in West Africa, just south of Algeria and Libya, west of Chad, North of Nigeria, and east of Mali. Just like puck or sit or any other innocent combination of letters, it is not a vulgarity. But lets face it, if you change the spelling of the word Niger in any way either by adding, subtracting...
Why Anti-Blackness Runs Deep in Argentina
zhlédnutí 242KPřed 9 měsíci
It's no secret that Argentina has long taken pride in its European heritage. Argentina’s mythical Eurocentric view of its self image as a white nation with a zero sum history of a black population is obviously definitively false. Why? Because Anti-Blackness runs deep in Argentina. Despite major waves of European migration there are pockets of afro-latino communities in virtually every Latin Ame...
Why Every World Map is Wrong about Africa

To say that Africa is huge would be an equally huge understatement. Africa is colossal. However, from a Western perspective, the world is sometimes shown to them from their point of view which makes their countries or continents seem much bigger than they actually are. In truth, maps diminish the True size of Africa. Here's why Africa is Bigger than you think. True Size of website: www.thetrues...
What Portugal Wanted vs What they Got in Scramble for Africa

An entity dubbed the Portuguese States of Africa, an unbroken chain of Portuguese territory, spanning southern Africa from its Atlantic coast all the way to the Indian Ocean, connecting Angola to Mozambique was envisaged in this Mapa Cor-de-rosa or famously, the Rose-Coloured or Pink Map. Why Patrice Lumumba Was a Threat

Patrice Lumumba was a marked man from the moment he made a scathing speech on the day of the country’s independence, June 30 1960, at a ceremony in the nation’s state house, the country’s version of the white house. It began in a subtle atmosphere but was abruptly transformed by the thundering speech of Premier Patrice Lumumba, who cited the suffering of the African people at the hands of oppre...
Why Kwame Nkrumah Was a Threat

Nkrumah’s ideologies were rooted in his vision of a United States of Africa; he believed that the only way for Africa to truly progress was through the creation of a federal state based on a common market, a common currency, a unified army and a common foreign policy that would enable Africa to solve internal conflicts as well as defend itself against external threats. It is also no wonder that...

We may have deep roots with Africa. Haitians is from west africa for the most part. But if Africa doesn't want us back, we don't have to force ourselves on them. After all they were the one who sold our grand parents for stupide things. We forgive, but we remember. I hope one day africa take responsibility for the sufferings of blacks in foreign lands. Shame on African Union.

Yes, ancient and modern Egyptians can be considered Africans, though their ethnic makeup is complex and has evolved over time. Here are some key points about the African identity of Egyptians: Indigenous Origins: The ancient Egyptians were an indigenous people of northeastern Africa who settled along the Nile River. Their ethnicity and culture developed within the African continent. Diversity Over Time: Over 3,000 years, the ethnic makeup of Egyptians became a diverse mix due to migration and foreign rulers like Greeks, Romans, Arabs etc. However, the indigenous African roots remained a core part of the population. Genetics: Modern genetic studies show that Egyptians have a rich ancestral makeup including indigenous North African components, as well as Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and sub-Saharan influences over time. Geographical Location: The vast majority of Egypt's territory lies in Africa, despite also having Middle Eastern connections. Egyptians reside on the African continent. Cultural Impact: Ancient Egyptian civilization was fundamentally an African civilization that had immense influence on other African cultures along the Nile valley and Sahara region. Self-Identification: Many Egyptians, both ancient and modern, have traditionally identified themselves as Africans, despite external Arab/Middle Eastern cultural influences. So in essence, while Egyptian ethnic identity has grown more diverse over millennia, Egyptians have an indisputable indigenous African root and geographic tie to the continent of Africa. Their identity represents a mix of African and Middle Eastern elements. Most scholars view both ancient and modern Egyptians as an African people and civilization.

In racist countries, people of different races dont have kids together, therefore you end up with many black people, white people, asian people, indigenous people, etc In most of LatinAmerica, including Argentina, NO RACISM meant people mixed, so nowadays it's hard to find someone who is very black, or very white, etc, we're all mixed There's no anti blackness in argentina, quite the opposite, you're used to USA racism that led to seeing people of "pure" race (white or black or asian etc)
