Regarding speed limits in Norway there's a few things to notice! -The speed limit is NOT the minimum speed, drive according to the conditions, your vehicle and your experience. - There is a law that states you must always be able to stop on the visible road length, so of course the speed needs to come down around bends. - Look for warning signs for animals on or close to the road. Especially when driving in the early hours, in the dark or winter. More snow means more animals on the road. And hitting an elk at 80kmt can lead to serious injuries or worse. You can look for roadwork and road conditions online, just remember most pages are in Norwegian so use a good translate app😅 Norwegian road administration even have strategic webcams around the country, so you can look at the road conditions yourself. High tolls and taxes can sometimes be avoided by looking for alternative routes. Many Norwegians actually drivers through Sweden on some parts of the road going from South to North of the country. The most scenic routes are rarely the cheapest! Fuel is normally cheaper on Sundays, Monday morning and Thursday morning. Driving long distances this can make a change in the budget. If you can adjust the high beams on the car manually; set them all the way down. Your car is most likely packed for a road trip and I want to keep my eyesight 😉 If there's ice or snow on the road, you can get a ticket (or worse!) if you drive with summer tires. Even in the summer! So always check the conditions before crossing the mountains. Even in the summer. Midnight sun is nice, but it also means you will have a low sun blinding you while driving late at night. Myself I like to drive from early morning around 6.00 and take a longer stop around 15.00 in the summer while on a road trip. I usually drive at night during winter because of less traffic. Safe driving!

Kraków is't cheap. It's a tourist city, sure, but first it's a city where people live and work. And for us, Poles, it's not that easy....

After the fire at Wawel Castle, King Sigismund III Vasa moved the seat of the royal court to Warsaw on March 18, 1596. However, he never issued an act establishing Warsaw as the capital of Poland. Warsaw was officially referred to only as the residence of His Majesty the King of Poland. Therefore, legally, Krakow remained the capital of Poland. For the same reason, the coronations of the kings of Poland continued to take place in Krakow, specifically at Wawel Cathedral. I am neither a lawyer nor a historian, but I suspect that Krakow still the capital of Poland in a purely legal sense.

I encourage you to get to know the small old town (Przemyśl), a city full of monuments, although not as large as in Poland, full of rich history. I will add that the Przemyśl Fortress was built nearby, as well as this city and the surrounding area. It is one of 200 great fortifications

I was born and live in Krakow. It's my favorite city. Yes, we have a lot of tourists here and I like to observe their reaction to my city. Currently, tourists who came here just to get drunk cannot do so in public, only in restaurants. Moreover, in Poland drinking alcohol in public places is prohibited and severely punished. As for the Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp, I do not recommend taking small children, because it could be too much of a shock for them. More like young people, from 14 years old. In Warsaw, next to the Royal Castle, there is a monument to this king - Sigismund's Column (this high column with a figure holding a saber in one hand and a cross in the other ). The first capital of Poland was Gniezno. In Polish history, several cities have been the capital of Poland.
